4 mil PVC Calendar Film With UV-Cured Ink
4 mil PVC calendar film is the base material on every glass door decal we print. It's a thin, sturdy vinyl rated for outdoor use. UV-cured ink bonds to the surface instantly under ultraviolet light, locking color in so the graphic resists scratching and water from day one. You get a sharp, readable door graphic that holds color for 3 to 5 years on commercial glass exposed to direct sun and daily contact. Durable. Fade-resistant. Built for a working entrance.
We print every decal at 720 DPI minimum. Text as small as a suite number stays crisp at the 2 to 4 ft distance where people actually read a door.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 in Wide
Die-cutting trims the decal to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle. That keeps your logo, hours panel, or suite number block sitting cleanly on the glass. No visible border. No white box around your artwork. Orders wider than 58.5 in ship in multiple pieces for manual alignment, but most commercial entrance door graphics fit well within that width. Kiss-cutting (cutting through the vinyl only, leaving the backing sheet intact) keeps the decal ready to peel and apply without tools.
White Vinyl or Clear Vinyl for Every Glass Door Look
Two material options cover every glass type. Standard white vinyl gives you a solid, opaque background that reads boldly against tinted or dark glass. Clear vinyl lets the glass show through so text and logos appear painted directly onto the door surface. And if your glass is lightly tinted, clear vinyl still works as long as your text color contrasts against the background behind the door. Choose your material in the configurator based on your glass tone (most retail storefronts with standard clear glass do well with either option).

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Vehicle door panels on cars, trucks, or jeeps need a different adhesive and surface preparation. Use [Vehicle Door Decals] instead.
Full door wraps or large murals covering an entire solid wood or metal door surface belong on a wall, not glass. Use [Wall Decals] for solid door surfaces.
Permanent mounted signage bolted to the door frame is a different product category entirely. Use [Custom Door Signs] (metal or acrylic with mounting hardware) for that application.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Glass Door Decals configuration.
-
White Vinyl or Clear Vinyl for Your Glass Type
Your glass color decides this. White vinyl carries an opaque background that reads boldly against tinted, dark, or frosted glass. Clear vinyl lets the glass show through so text and logos appear painted directly onto the surface. That painted-on look falls apart on dark or tinted glass because there's nothing behind the ink to make it pop.
Check your glass tint before ordering, then select your material in the configurator.
-
Inside Mount or Outside Mount for Your Door Location
Here's the thing: inside mount protects the decal from rain, physical contact, and outdoor cleaning. It's applied to the interior glass surface, facing outward. Outside mount is simpler to apply on a large door but leaves the decal exposed to weather and foot traffic. For most commercial entrance doors, choose inside mount. Note it at checkout so we mirror your artwork correctly for outward reading.
-
Permanent Vinyl or Static Cling for Your Update Frequency
Permanent vinyl holds 3 to 5 years and suits business names, logos, suite numbers, and compliance graphics that do not change. Static cling (no adhesive, fully repositionable) suits seasonal hours, holiday messaging, and temporary promotions. Order your core branding as permanent vinyl. Order your hours panel as a static cling so you can swap it without touching the base decal.
-
Modular Layout or Single Full-Door Decal Based on How Often You Update
A modular layout splits your door graphic into separate pieces: logo, hours, and contact info each on their own decal. This costs roughly the same as a single large decal but lets you replace one piece when information changes. Order modular if your hours, phone number, or URL changes more than once a year. A single decal works fine when nothing on the door needs updating for the life of the graphic.
Pair it with
Complete the Storefront Entrance
Your glass door decal handles the door itself. Window Decals carry matching graphics on the glass panels flanking the entrance, so your branding reads as one cohesive display across the full front facade. An A-Frame Sign on the sidewalk pulls foot traffic toward that branded entrance from the curb.
Match the Material to Your Glass
Clear vinyl gives text a painted-on look on standard clear glass. Heavy tint or frosted panels usually call for white vinyl to get solid contrast. A frosted vinyl option adds a privacy effect with your logo visible within it.
Add Permanent Mounted Signage Alongside the Decal
Vinyl decals cover hours, phone numbers, and compliance graphics flat on the glass. Custom Door Signs in metal or acrylic mount with hardware and handle the business nameplate with dimension and weight that vinyl cannot replicate. Both belong on the same door.
Carry the Brand From the Door Inward
Once a customer steps through your branded entrance, Wall Decals on interior surfaces keep the same identity visible through the space. Custom Banners above the entry reinforce it further. The door graphic is the first touchpoint. These products are the next ones.
FAQs
Will My Custom Glass Door Decal Read Clearly From Both Sides of the Door?
Standard white vinyl reads clearly from the applied side only. The back shows white vinyl, not your design. Clear vinyl is partially visible from both sides but is designed to face one direction. For true two-sided readability, apply separate decals to each side of the glass.
What Size Works for a Standard Commercial Glass Entrance Door?
Most commercial glass door panels run roughly 24 x 80 in or 36 x 80 in. Business name and logo typically fit a 12 x 18 in to 18 x 24 in area centered at eye level. Hours and contact info usually fit a 6 x 12 in panel below that. ADA and compliance labels are typically 6 x 6 in.
Can I Update My Hours Without Replacing the Entire Door Decal?
Yes, and this is worth planning before you order. Order your hours as a separate static cling rather than printing them into the main decal. When hours change, peel the cling, apply the updated version, and the logo decal underneath stays untouched. This modular approach saves you a full reorder every time your schedule shifts.
Will the Decal Hold Up Through Daily Door Opening, Closing, and Commercial Cleaning?
4 mil PVC with permanent adhesive bonds directly to the glass surface, so the decal is not affected by the door swinging open and shut. UV-cured ink resists scratching and water from day one. Cleaned normally with mild soap and water, a properly applied decal lasts 3 to 5 years on a commercial entrance door.
Does Inside Mount Need a Mirrored Design, and Do You Handle That Automatically?
Inside mount does need a mirrored file so the graphic reads correctly from outside the glass. But you do not need to mirror it yourself. Specify inside mount at checkout and we flip the artwork in production before printing. Just upload your design in its normal, readable orientation.
Get your artwork right
- Accepted formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF with outlined fonts) are best for logos and text because they scale to any size without losing edge sharpness.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum. 300 DPI recommended, especially for text and logos under 4 in tall. Door decals are read at 2 to 4 ft, so soft edges show up fast at that distance.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Keep critical text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so the die-cut doesn't clip them.
- Color mode
- CMYK. RGB files are accepted but converted to CMYK before printing, and some colors shift during that conversion. Setting your file to CMYK before upload gives you the most accurate color match.
- Die-cut decals
- Upload artwork on a transparent background. We cut to the exact design edge, so anything outside your design area should be transparent, not white.
- Inside-mount orders
- Specify inside mount at checkout. We mirror the artwork in production so it reads correctly from outside the glass. You don't need to flip it yourself.
Use our free online design tool to build your layout, or let our design team set it up for you. Submit your artwork on a transparent background for die-cut decals and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Before Application
- Clean the glass door surface with isopropyl alcohol before applying any decal. Dust, fingerprints, and cleaning product residue prevent the adhesive from bonding fully to the glass.
Cleaning After Application
- Wipe around the decal with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, scrapers, or solvent-based products directly on the decal surface, as these break down the UV-cured ink layer over time.
Inside-Mount Decals
- Clean the exterior glass surface normally. The decal sits on the interior side and is not affected by outdoor glass cleaning or weather contact.
Removal and Static Cling Panels
- To remove a permanent vinyl decal, apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer for 30 to 60 seconds. Then peel slowly from one corner. Rubbing alcohol removes any remaining adhesive residue. For static cling panels (hours or seasonal messaging), peel and reposition as needed. Rinse the cling with water before reapplying and store it flat between uses.
