4 Mil PVC Calendar Film With Permanent Adhesive for Rear Glass
4 mil white PVC calendar film bonds to rear glass with permanent adhesive that holds through car washes, rain, and road debris. It's a thin, flexible vinyl rated for outdoor use. The matte finish cuts glare so your graphic reads clearly in direct sun. And unlike thicker materials that crack along curved edges, this film conforms to the slight curve of most rear windows without lifting. A2Z Printing Hub prints every decal on this same material, rated to hold 3 to 5 years without peeling at the edges.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Sharp, Lasting Color
UV printing locks color into the surface rather than sitting on top of it. Ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light during the print run. That's why the graphic stays bold and readable from roughly 30 ft back in traffic, even after months of direct sun. Scratch resistant. Waterproof. The 720 DPI minimum floor means your logo or phone number stays crisp at any size we print.
Die-Cut to Any Shape With Kiss-Cut Backing for Clean Peeling
Die-cutting trims the vinyl to the exact outline of your design. No white border shows around your artwork on the glass. Kiss-cutting (cutting through the vinyl layer only, leaving the backing sheet intact) lets you peel the decal in one clean piece without tearing or misaligning the graphic during application. Both cuts happen in the same production step, so your decal arrives ready to apply.

Full vehicle wraps covering the entire car surface. We produce decals for specific placement areas, not full coverage. For a complete wrap, a local installer is the right call.
Temporary vehicle signage you need to remove and reapply daily. Permanent adhesive is not built for that. Magnetic Signs handle daily swaps with no adhesive at all.
Rear graphics where the driver needs to see through the decal from inside the cab. Window Decals (Perforated Vinyl) give you one-way visibility with 70 percent print coverage and 30 percent open holes.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Rear Window Decals configuration.
-
Solid Opaque Graphic Versus See-Through Rear Window Visibility
Here's the thing: this decal bonds white PVC to your rear glass, so the printed face is fully opaque. Your driver cannot see through it. That works for most business branding and personal graphics where rear visibility comes from side mirrors alone. But if you need to see through the glass from inside the cab, go with perforated vinyl under our Window Decals category instead. Perforated vinyl gives you 70 percent print coverage outside and 30 percent open holes so the driver keeps a sight line.
-
Single Vehicle Order Versus Fleet Order Across Multiple Vehicles
A single vehicle order is straightforward: enter your size, upload your file, approve the proof. Fleet orders across 5 or more vehicles need a different approach. Contact us before ordering so we can lock in consistent sizing templates and apply volume pricing to your full quantity. Skipping that step on fleet orders typically means mismatched sizes across vehicles.
-
Standard Rectangle Shape Versus Custom Die-Cut Shape
Standard rectangles suit text-heavy designs: a URL, a phone number, a simple wordmark. For a logo with a complex outline or a mascot silhouette, choose die-cut. The vinyl trims to the exact edge of your artwork, so no white border shows around the design on the glass.
-
Sizing Fit for Die-Cut Shapes
Your design must fit within 58.5 in wide. Designs wider than 58.5 in ship in multiple pieces with alignment guides. Plan your layout inside that boundary if you want a single-piece application.
-
Self-Application on a Small Decal Versus Large-Format Decal Needing Two People
Decals under roughly 24 in wide are easy one-person applications using the included squeegee. For decals approaching the 58.5 in maximum width, bring a second person to hold one end flat while you squeegee from center outward. And do not skip that step: a decal that wide will fold onto itself mid-application without a second set of hands.

Finish the Vehicle Branding Job
Your rear window carries the URL or phone number. Put the logo on the largest flat panel with Custom Vehicle Door Decals, then add a third contact point at bumper level with Custom Bumper Decals. Drivers behind you in traffic read both.
Need to Remove It on Weekends?
This 4 mil PVC decal bonds permanently to glass. But if you use the same vehicle for personal trips and work runs, Magnetic Signs attach and pull off in seconds with no adhesive and no residue left behind.
Need Rear-Window Visibility From Inside the Cab?
Solid white PVC blocks your view through the glass entirely. Perforated Vinyl under our Window Decals category gives you 70 percent print coverage on the outside and 30 percent open holes so the driver can still see through.
Shopping by Vehicle Type?
Custom Truck Rear Window Decals and Custom Jeep Rear Window Decals use the same 4 mil PVC material. Both ship with size templates matched to truck tailgates and Jeep spare-tire windows.
FAQs
Will the Permanent Adhesive Leave Residue or Damage My Rear Glass When I Remove the Decal?
It will not damage factory glass when removed correctly. Apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining residue wipes off cleanly with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. Aftermarket-tinted glass or glass with existing coatings may behave differently, so test a small area first.
How Long Will a Rear Window Decal Hold Up Through Car Washes and Direct Sun?
Outdoor durability runs 3 to 5 years under normal conditions. UV printing cures the ink instantly so color does not fade or crack from sun exposure. The 4 mil PVC calendar film resists water and scratches through automatic car washes after the first 72-hour curing period. Indoor use extends the lifespan well beyond 5 years.
Can I Apply a Rear Window Decal Myself Without Getting Bubbles or Misaligning the Graphic?
Yes, and most buyers do it solo on decals under 24 in wide. Clean the glass surface first, peel the backing, position the decal, then squeegee from the center outward toward the edges. For decals closer to the 58.5 in maximum width, a second person holding the far end flat makes the difference between a clean application and a folded mess.
Do I Get to See Exactly How the Decal Will Look Before It Goes to Print?
Every order includes a free digital proof showing your exact shape, cut line, and color output. Production does not start until you approve it. This is where you catch any sizing issues or color concerns before the vinyl is printed.
What Happens If My Design Is Wider Than 58.5 Inches?
Designs exceeding 58.5 in in any dimension ship in multiple pieces with alignment guides for manual joining on the glass. The seam is minimal when aligned correctly. That said, keeping your layout inside 58.5 in is the better move if a clean single-piece application matters to you.
Get your artwork right
File formats we accept: PDF, AI, PNG, and JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF) are the strongest choice for logos because they scale to any size without losing edge detail.
- Resolution
- Resolution matters more than most buyers expect. The floor is 150 DPI at your final print size. For decals under 24 in wide, go with 300 DPI because viewers get close enough to spot a soft edge on anything lower. Set your color mode to CMYK before exporting. CMYK is the 4-color printing process (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) that matches how our UV press reproduces color. RGB files shift when we convert them, so colors on screen won't match the finished decal.
- Bleed
- Add 0.25 in of bleed on all sides and keep logos and text at least 0.5 in inside the trim edge. Sharp details stay safe that way.
- Artwork setup
- For die-cut shapes, supply your artwork on a transparent background. We cut to the exact design outline with no white border around the graphic.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before running the vehicle through a car wash. The adhesive needs that time to fully bond to the glass. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal area and keep high-pressure spray off the edges.
- After 2 weeks, normal automatic car wash use is fine. Clean the decal surface with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products, or wax applied directly on top of the decal.
- To remove the decal, apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining adhesive residue wipes off cleanly with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone without damaging factory glass.
