4 Mil PVC Calendar Film With Permanent Adhesive on Rear Glass

4 mil white PVC calendar film (a thin, flexible vinyl sheet rated for outdoor use) bonds to rear glass with permanent adhesive. It holds through car washes and road weather without lifting at the edges. Thin enough to conform to the slight curve of most rear windows without bubbling. A2Z Printing Hub prints this material because it stays flat, bonds firmly, and keeps your branding readable for 3 to 5 years outdoors. Matte finish cuts glare from headlights behind you.

UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Sharp, Lasting Color

UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, locking in scratch-resistant, waterproof color. Sharp edges on logos and crisp text on URLs stay that way through rain, road debris, and direct sun across a full outdoor season. We run a 720 DPI minimum (dots per inch, the measure of print sharpness) so fine lettering reads clearly from 20 to 30 ft back in traffic. Weather resistance is covered here. Durability specs live in the Specifications block.

Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 In Wide

Die-cutting trims the vinyl to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle. A logo, wordmark, or custom shape sits cleanly on the rear glass with no visible border around it. Upload your artwork on a transparent background and we cut around the design edges automatically. Sizes reach up to 58.5 in wide. And if your design runs wider, we ship in multiple pieces with alignment guides for joining on the glass.

Ideal for

Small business owners putting a logo, website URL, or phone number on the rear window so every mile driven becomes a moving ad.
Fleet managers ordering matching rear window decals across 5 to 50 or more vehicles for consistent branding car to car.
Plumbers, electricians, and landscapers adding contact info to work vehicles that park in neighborhoods all day.
Car enthusiasts adding custom lettering, racing graphics, or name decals for a clean, personalized look on rear glass.
Families putting stick figure decals, sports team logos, or custom name graphics on a personal vehicle.
Real estate agents and insurance brokers branding a personal vehicle with a name and brokerage logo visible at every red light.
Event organizers marking sponsor vehicles with bold rear window graphics that read clearly from 20 to 30 ft back.

Not the best fit for

Full vehicle wraps covering the entire car surface fall outside what we do here. We print decals for specific placement areas. For full coverage, a local wrap installer is the right call.

Temporary signage that needs daily removal is not what permanent adhesive is built for. Magnetic Signs are the better choice for vehicles that switch between personal and business use on the same day.

Rear window graphics where the driver needs to see through the decal area need a different material entirely. Perforated vinyl under our Window Decals category gives one-way visibility from inside the car.

How to choose

Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Car Rear Window Decals configuration.

  1. Die-Cut Shape Versus Full-Panel Rectangle

Here's the thing: die-cut works best when your design has a defined logo or wordmark you want sitting cleanly on the glass with no background box around it. A full-panel rectangle covers more of the rear window and gives you maximum color area across the glass. Upload your artwork on a transparent background and we cut around the design edges automatically. No guessing, no adjusting after the fact.

  2. Sizing Your Decal to Fit the Rear Window

Most car rear windows run roughly 40 to 55 in wide and 12 to 18 in tall. Leave at least 2 in of clear glass on each side so the decal does not crowd the defroster lines or window frame. Enter your exact window measurements in the configurator and it sizes the decal to your glass, not a generic template.

  3. Opaque White PVC Versus Perforated Vinyl

White PVC is opaque and reads boldly from outside. But if the driver needs clear sight lines through the decal area, perforated vinyl is the right call. That material has tiny holes punched through it, giving one-way visibility from inside the car. That option lives under our Window Decals category. Select the perforated option there and your graphic shows to traffic behind you while the driver sees through it normally.

  4. Single Order Versus Fleet Quantity

One vehicle? A single order works fine. Fleet managers ordering decals for 10 or more vehicles qualify for volume pricing that drops the per-unit cost automatically. Enter your quantity in the configurator before checkout and you'll see the price adjust in real time. No code needed.

Pair it with

Switch to Removable When You Need To

Permanent adhesive isn't right for every situation. Magnetic Signs bond to your car door or rear panel with no adhesive at all, so you can pull them off after work and put them back on Monday morning.

Brand the Full Car Exterior in One Order

Your rear window decal uses 4 mil white PVC with permanent adhesive. So do these. Ordering them together keeps your logo, contact number, and color palette consistent across every surface of the vehicle.

Need to See Through the Rear Glass?

Perforated vinyl (vinyl with tiny holes punched through it, roughly 30 percent open area) lets the driver see out while showing your graphic to traffic behind. Same rear window placement, different material.

Match Your Road Branding to Your Storefront

Drivers see your logo at every red light. Custom Signs at your location give them the same logo when they arrive. The visual match builds recognition faster than either product does alone.

FAQs

Will the Adhesive Leave Residue or Damage My Rear Window Glass on Removal?

The permanent adhesive on 4 mil white PVC bonds firmly to glass but does not damage the surface on removal. Use a heat gun on low, peel slowly from one corner, and any residue left behind clears with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. Glass is a non-porous surface, so it responds better to heat removal than painted metal does.

How Many Car Washes Can a Rear Window Decal Handle Before It Starts Lifting?

Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before running the vehicle through a car wash. After that curing window, the adhesive holds through normal automatic car wash cycles. The 4 mil PVC and UV-cured ink are rated for 3 to 5 years outdoors, which covers hundreds of washes under typical use.

Can I Apply This Decal Myself Without Getting Bubbles or a Crooked Edge?

Yes. Clean the glass with isopropyl alcohol first, then peel the backing and position the decal before pressing. Use the included squeegee from the center outward in firm, overlapping strokes. Small bubbles that remain after application usually flatten within 48 hours as the adhesive settles against the glass.

Will Printed Colors Fade After a Full Summer of Direct Sun?

UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, locking the color into the surface rather than sitting on top of it. The result holds up through direct sun for 3 to 5 years outdoors without noticeable fading. Indoors, away from UV exposure, the colors last longer still.

Do I See a Proof Before the Decal Goes to Print?

Every order includes a free digital proof showing the exact cut shape, size, and color output. We send it within 24 hours of your order. Nothing goes to production without your approval, so you can catch any sizing or color issue before it becomes a physical decal.

Get your artwork right

Resolution sets how crisp your text and logo edges look on the glass. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (vector format, meaning the design scales without losing sharpness) is the best choice for logos with fine lines or thin lettering.

We accept PDF PNG JPG AI
Minimum resolution
150 DPI. For decals under 4 ft wide, 300 DPI is the right call. Viewers standing behind your car at a red light get close enough to spot a soft edge.
Bleed
0.25 in on all sides. **Safe zone:** keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so nothing clips during die-cutting.
Color mode
CMYK, not RGB. CMYK (the four-color printing process using cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) is how our UV press reads color. RGB files shift on output and your greens or reds may not land where you expect.

For die-cut shapes, upload your artwork on a transparent background. We cut around the design outline automatically. Not sure where to start? Our free online design tool walks you through it at checkout, or add our professional design service if you'd rather hand it off. Submit your artwork and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions

Product care

  • Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before running the vehicle through a car wash. The adhesive needs that window to cure fully against the glass. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal area and avoid high-pressure spray aimed directly at the edges.
  • After 2 weeks, normal automatic car wash use is fine. Clean the decal surface with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products, or wax applied directly on the decal face.
  • To remove the decal, use a heat gun on low and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue left on the glass clears with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone.
