How to orderSpecifications
Custom Car Bumper Decals are die-cut from 4 mil white PVC calendar film and UV printed in full CMYK color. They bond to painted bumpers, rear panels, and body surfaces with a permanent adhesive rated 3 to 5 years outdoors. Here's the thing: same tough material across every order, same sharp color output.
- Material
- 4 mil white PVC calendar film, matte finish.PVC calendar film is a thin, flexible vinyl sheet that conforms to flat and slightly curved surfaces without cracking.
- Print Method

- Color Output
- CMYK full color at 720 DPI minimum.CMYK uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to reproduce your full-color logo or graphic accurately.
- Finishing
- Die-cut to custom shape. Kiss-cut on backing sheet.Kiss-cut (cutting through vinyl only, leaving the backing sheet intact) means the decal peels cleanly every time.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes up to 58.5 in wide.Orders over 58.5 in ship in multiple pieces for manual alignment on the vehicle surface.

4 Mil White PVC Calendar Film With Matte Finish
PVC calendar film (a thin, flexible vinyl sheet rated for outdoor use) runs 4 mil thick on every bumper decal we print. That weight gives the decal enough body to apply flat without stretching, so edges stay crisp after months on the road. The matte finish cuts glare from headlights and direct sun, keeping your text and graphics readable at a stoplight from roughly 10 to 15 ft back. Thin enough to conform to slightly curved bumper surfaces. Sturdy enough to stay flat.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum on Permanent Adhesive Backing
A2Z Printing Hub UV prints every decal at 720 DPI minimum, curing ink instantly under ultraviolet light. That process locks in scratch-resistant, waterproof color that holds bold and readable through car washes and direct sun for 3 to 5 years outdoors. And the permanent adhesive backing bonds firmly to painted metal, plastic, and fiberglass bumper surfaces without lifting at the edges mid-season. Full CMYK color accuracy, no fading.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 in Wide
Die-cut finishing (trimming the vinyl to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle) means your logo, phone number, or custom graphic sits flush on the bumper with no visible border around it. Sizes run up to 58.5 in wide. Orders wider than that ship in multiple pieces with alignment guides included. Or keep it simple with a rectangle for text-only designs. Either way, the cut follows your artwork exactly.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full vehicle wraps covering the entire car surface. We cut decals for specific areas only. For full coverage, a local wrap installer is the right call.
Temporary vehicle signage that needs daily removal without any adhesive residue. Magnetic Signs are the better choice there. No adhesive, no commitment.
Rear window graphics where the driver needs visibility through the decal. Perforated Window Decals handle that placement cleanly.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Car Bumper Decals configuration.
-
Bumper Placement Versus Other Car Surfaces
The rear bumper sits at roughly eye level for drivers behind you, which makes it the strongest spot for a phone number, website, or short tagline. Keep any text large enough to read from about 10 to 15 ft back. That typically means letters at least 2 in tall for a URL and 3 in tall for a phone number. If your design needs to cover a door panel or hood instead, those placement pages carry size templates built for those specific surfaces.
-
Business Branding Versus Personal Customization
Business branding works best with one clear message on the bumper: a logo, a phone number, or a URL. Cramming all three into a small decal makes none of them readable at road speed. Personal customization has more room for detail because viewers are usually parked or stopped nearby. Either way, upload your artwork on a transparent background so the die-cut follows your exact design edge.
-
Single Car Versus Fleet Order
For one car, enter your size and shape directly in the configurator. For a fleet of 5 or more vehicles, contact us before ordering. We apply volume pricing to your quote, and consistent placement across all cars reads as intentional branding rather than a scattered one-off. Fleet orders of 10 or more may add 1 to 2 production days, so build that into your timeline.
-
Standard Shape Versus Fully Custom Die-Cut
-
Text-Only Designs
A rectangle shape costs less and works well for a plain phone number or URL. No custom cutting needed, and the result is clean and readable.
-
Logo or Graphic Designs
A fully custom die-cut shape trims the vinyl to the exact outline of your logo or graphic silhouette. No visible border around it. If your design has a clean, defined edge, die-cut is the sharper choice on the bumper surface.
Pair it with
The Removable Alternative
Your car does double duty as a personal and business vehicle. Magnetic Signs attach to the same bumper or door panel without any adhesive, so you pull them off on weekends and reattach on Monday in seconds.
Brand Every Panel in One Order
The bumper handles rear-facing traffic. But the doors and hood cover the sides and top-down views in parking areas. All three use the same 4 mil PVC material, so colors match across every panel.
Night-Visibility Upgrade
Your bumper graphic disappears after dark on standard white PVC. Reflective Car Decals use the same die-cut process on reflective vinyl that bounces headlight beams back toward the source, keeping your graphic visible after sunset.
Match Your Storefront to Your Fleet
Customers who spot your car on the road should recognize your location when they walk in. Custom Signs carry the same logo and color scheme as your bumper decals, so the connection lands.
FAQs
Will the Permanent Adhesive Pull Paint Off My Bumper When I Remove the Decal?
Honestly, this is the question we hear most. The permanent adhesive bonds firmly to painted metal, plastic, and fiberglass, but it is not designed to be destructive. Use a heat gun on low and peel slowly from one corner. Factory paint finishes release cleanly. That said, do not apply a decal to fresh paint under 30 days old, because new paint has not fully cured and any adhesive can disturb it.
How Long Will a Bumper Decal Hold Up Through Car Washes and Road Conditions?
The 4 mil white PVC calendar film carries a 3 to 5 year outdoor durability rating. UV-cured inks resist fading, and the matte surface sheds water and road debris without lifting. After the first 72 hours of curing on the bumper, normal automatic car wash use is fine. Direct sun, rain, and road spray all fall within the rated conditions.
Can I Apply a Bumper Decal Myself Without Getting Bubbles or Crooked Edges?
Yes. Each order ships flat on a backing sheet with application instructions included. The short answer: clean the bumper surface with isopropyl alcohol first, peel the backing halfway, position the decal, then squeegee from the center outward. Small bubbles work out on their own within 48 to 72 hours as the adhesive settles. Decals under 24 in wide are straightforward for one person.
Will the Colors Fade After Months in Direct Sun?
UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, locking the color into the surface rather than sitting on top of it. Under normal outdoor conditions, bold color holds for the full 3 to 5 year rating. Parking in direct sun daily does not accelerate fading beyond what the rating accounts for.
Do I See a Proof Before My Custom Car Bumper Decals Go to Print?
Yes, every order includes a free digital proof showing your exact die-cut shape, size, and color output. We do not start production until you approve it. Proof approval typically takes less than 1 business day. If anything looks off, request changes before approving and we adjust at no cost.
Get your artwork right
Custom Car Bumper Decals are die-cut to your design outline, so your file setup determines how clean the cut looks on the bumper surface.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI or PDF) give the sharpest cut edge on logos and lettering.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum. For any decal under 2 ft wide, go 300 DPI. Viewers standing behind you at a stoplight get close enough to spot a soft edge.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Keep text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so nothing clips during trimming.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the 4-color process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) we actually print with, so colors on your screen match what lands on the matte vinyl surface.
- For die-cut shapes
- upload artwork on a transparent background. We cut around the exact design outline, so a white or colored background becomes part of your decal shape.
Worth knowing: a free online design tool and a professional design service are both available at checkout if you need help building your file.
Submit your artwork on a transparent background and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying your bumper decal before running the car through a wash. The adhesive needs that window to fully bond to the painted surface. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal area and avoid high-pressure spray aimed directly at the edges.
- After the 2-week curing period, normal automatic car wash use is fine. Clean the decal surface with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or apply wax directly on the matte vinyl.
- To remove the decal, use a heat gun on low and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue left on the bumper cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone.
