4 Mil White PVC Calendar Film With Permanent Adhesive
4 mil white PVC calendar film forms the base of every truck rear window decal we print. It's a thin, flexible vinyl sheet rated for outdoor use. Thin does not mean fragile here. At 4 mil, the film stays sturdy enough to resist road debris and highway wind without cracking or curling at the edges. The permanent adhesive bonds directly to rear window glass and holds flat through rain, car washes, and temperature swings after the first 72-hour cure period. No peeling. No lifting corners.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum on Glass Surfaces
UV printing runs at 720 DPI minimum on every order we send out at A2Z Printing Hub. The process cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light. That instant cure creates a scratch-resistant, waterproof surface that does not smear under road spray or crack from glass vibration at highway speeds. Bold color on a rear window holds sharp for 3 to 5 years in direct sun. And because the ink bonds to the film rather than sitting on top, the surface stays crisp through hundreds of car washes.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 In Wide
Die-cutting trims the decal to the exact outline of your design, not a standard rectangle. Your logo or lettering sits flush against the glass with no visible border around it. Most full-size pickup rear windows run roughly 50 to 58 in wide, and our cutter handles any shape up to 58.5 in without a seam. Contour shapes. Lettering outlines. Curved logos. All cut edge to edge.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full rear window coverage where you still need to see through the glass. Perforated vinyl (a material with tiny holes that lets you see out while showing graphics from outside) handles that job. See Custom Truck Window Decals for that option.
Temporary signage you swap out daily or weekly. Permanent adhesive is not the right tool for that. Magnetic Signs attach and remove without adhesive on any flat metal truck surface.
Full vehicle wraps covering the entire truck body. We produce decals for specific placement areas. For full coverage, a local wrap installer is the better choice.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Truck Rear Window Decals configuration.
-
Solid Decal Versus a See-Through Option
Here's the thing: a solid 4 mil white PVC decal gives you bold, opaque color across the full design. It does block the glass behind it, though. That trade-off is fine on most modern pickups because rear cameras and mirrors handle visibility. But if you rely on direct glass sightlines while reversing, a solid decal is not the right fit. Go with perforated vinyl under Custom Truck Window Decals instead. It shows your graphic from outside while keeping visibility from inside the cab.
-
Sizing the Decal to Your Specific Truck
Most full-size pickup rear windows run roughly 50 to 58 in wide, but cab style changes that number. A crew cab rear window and an extended cab rear window do not measure the same even on the same model year. Enter your exact glass measurement in the size configurator and we cut to fit. Do not estimate from a generic size chart.
-
Single Truck Order Versus a Fleet Bulk Order
Single orders ship in 1 to 2 business days. Fleet orders of 10 or more trucks typically add 1 to 2 production days. The smart approach: start with one proof unit, approve it against your actual truck glass, then scale the fleet order from that confirmed design. You'll lock in consistent color and cut across every vehicle without guessing on a 20-truck run.
-
Matching the Decal Shape to Your Design
-
Rectangular Logos and Simple Text
Upload artwork with a transparent background and select die-cut. Rectangular logos get a clean rectangle cut. No visible border, no white box around the design.
-
Irregular Shapes, Curved Lettering, and Complex Logos
Contour die-cutting follows every curve and corner of your artwork. The decal sits flush against the glass with no extra vinyl showing around the edges.
Pair it with
Cover Every Angle Behind Your Truck
A rear window decal brands the glass, but drivers and pedestrians also see your doors and bumper. Custom Truck Door Decals put your logo on the largest flat panel on the truck. Add Custom Truck Bumper Decals for eye-level messaging at the rear. All three placements together mean every angle a person behind you sees carries your brand.
Removable Option for Personal Use Days
Permanent adhesive works for dedicated work trucks. But if you use the same truck personally on weekends, you'll want something that comes off in seconds. Magnetic Signs attach to any flat metal surface and pull off cleanly with no adhesive left behind.
See-Through Alternative for the Rear Glass
Some drivers need direct sightlines through the rear window, not just camera coverage. Custom Truck Window Decals with perforated vinyl brand the full glass while keeping visibility from inside the cab. Perforated vinyl has tiny holes that show graphics from outside while letting you see out.
Match the Truck to a Fixed Location
Your truck fleet and your shop front read as one identity when the branding matches. Custom Signs at your business location carry the same logo and colors your trucks show on the road every day.
FAQs
Will the Permanent Adhesive Damage My Truck's Rear Window Glass at Removal?
Permanent adhesive bonds firmly to factory glass, but it does not damage it on removal. Warm the decal with a heat gun on low heat and peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining adhesive residue lifts cleanly with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone on factory glass. Aftermarket tint film is a different surface, so test a small edge before full removal if your glass has an applied tint layer.
How Long Will a Rear Window Decal Hold Up Through Highway Driving and Car Washes?
UV-printed 4 mil white PVC holds up 3 to 5 years in direct sun on glass surfaces. Water resistance kicks in immediately after application. Car washes are safe after the first 72-hour cure period. Road grit, highway speeds, and seasonal temperature swings do not lift the adhesive on a properly applied decal.
Can I Apply a Large Rear Window Decal Myself Without Bubbles?
Yes. Decals up to roughly 58.5 in wide ship flat on a kiss-cut backing sheet with application instructions. Start from the center and squeegee outward toward the edges in overlapping passes. Small bubbles near the edges can be punctured with a pin and smoothed flat. The backing sheet stays intact until you're ready to position the decal, so you get one clean placement attempt.
Do UV-Printed Colors Fade After a Season of Direct Sun?
UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, which creates a scratch-resistant, waterproof bond that resists fading. Under normal outdoor conditions on rear glass, color holds for 3 to 5 years without noticeable shift. Parking in direct sun daily is factored into that rating. The white PVC base also keeps colors looking bold rather than washed out against dark tinted glass.
What Happens if My Decal Arrives Damaged or Colors Don't Match the Approved Proof?
We reprint the order at no charge. The proof you approve shows the exact die-cut shape, color output, and size before production starts. If the printed result does not match that approved proof, that is our error and we fix it. No back-and-forth required.
Get your artwork right
We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (Adobe Illustrator vector format) is the best choice for logos because it scales to any size without losing edge sharpness.
For die-cut shapes, upload your artwork on a transparent background. We cut to the exact edge of your design. Rectangular logos get a rectangle cut. Logos with curves or lettering get a contour cut that follows every line.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum. Recommended 300 DPI for any decal under 4 ft wide, where someone standing behind your truck at a stoplight gets close enough to spot a soft edge.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. **Safe zone:** keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so nothing important gets trimmed.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK (the four-color process using cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) matches how our printers lay down ink, so your colors land accurately on the decal face.
Our free online design tool includes truck rear window placement templates if you're starting from scratch. Need a logo built or adapted for glass placement? Our professional design service handles that too.
Submit your artwork on a transparent background for die-cut decals and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before running the truck through a car wash or exposing the glass to heavy rain. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal area and keep high-pressure spray away from the edges.
- After the 2-week cure period, normal automatic car washes are fine. Clean the decal face with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners or apply wax directly on the decal surface.
- To remove the decal, use a heat gun on low heat and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue left on factory glass lifts cleanly with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. Avoid this process on aftermarket or freshly painted surfaces less than 30 days old.
