How to orderSpecifications
Custom Fabric Step and Repeat Banners run on 9 oz dye-sublimated polyester, a matte, wrinkle-resistant fabric built for indoor photo walls and event backdrops. The surface absorbs ink into the fibers so colors stay crisp through folding, transport, and reuse. Custom Fabric Step and Repeat Banners are the right call any time flash photography or booth lighting is part of the event.
- Material
- 9 oz polyester fabric. The matte surface absorbs ink into the fibers so it won't crack, peel, or flake through repeated handling.
- Print Method
- Dye sublimation.Heat bonds ink into the fabric fibers so colors stay saturated through machine washing and folding.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color. The 4-color process covers most brand color ranges and reproduces repeating logo patterns with consistent tone.
- Finishing
- Grommets (brass, every 2 ft). Pole pockets. Hem and heat weld. Each option suits a different hanging setup, from pipe-and-drape systems to wall-mounted rods.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes available.Order the exact dimensions your backdrop frame or venue wall needs without being locked into standard sizes.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Primarily indoor.Handles light outdoor use under a tent or awning. Not rated for direct rain or sustained wind.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided standard. Double-sided with blockout liner available. The blockout liner (a white layer between front and back prints) stops show-through when both faces are visible.
- Weight
- 9 oz.Lighter than standard outdoor vinyl so the fabric drapes naturally and hangs flat without pulling hardware out of alignment.

9 oz Dye-Sublimated Polyester With Zero Flash Glare
The 9 oz polyester fabric absorbs dye-sublimation ink directly into its fibers. Heat bonds the ink in rather than leaving it on top, so the matte surface won't bounce camera flash back at the lens. Every photo taken in front of your logo wall comes out clean. Glossy vinyl reflects flash and washes out the brand pattern behind your guests. Fabric doesn't. That single difference is why event photographers and corporate marketing teams at A2Z Printing Hub order fabric for any backdrop where a camera is in the room.
Sharp colors. Zero wash-out.
Repeating Logo Layout Printed Full-Color CMYK
CMYK output (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) covers the full repeating pattern across any custom size you order. Your brand mark reads consistently whether a guest stands 2 ft from the wall or 15 ft back at the edge of the room. And because the ink bonds into the fibers, the pattern stays saturated through repeated folding, transport, and reuse across multiple events (not just one gala or press day).
Wrinkle-Resistant Fabric That Travels and Reuses Well
The wrinkle-resistant polyester weave relaxes after hanging for roughly 30 minutes or a quick steam pass. No ironing the full face before every setup. Fold it, pack it, ship it, unpack it. Most wrinkles you see on arrival are gone before your first guest walks in.
Tough enough to fold. Smooth enough to shoot.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Outdoor signage exposed to direct rain or sustained wind is a poor match. Fabric absorbs moisture and sags. Custom Vinyl Banners at 13 oz outdoor rating handle weather that would damage fabric.
Budget-driven temporary signage where cost per square foot is the deciding factor belongs on vinyl. Custom Vinyl Banners cost less per square foot for short-term use where glare and drape don't matter.
Fence-mounted or scaffolding displays in high-wind locations need a different solution. Specialty Banners (mesh vinyl) let wind pass through without tearing and are built for those conditions.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Fabric Step and Repeat Banners configuration.
-
Fabric Versus Vinyl for Your Photo Wall
Flash photography settles this fast. Vinyl reflects camera flash back at the lens, which washes out your logo in every photo taken in front of the wall. The 9 oz polyester fabric absorbs it instead, so the repeating pattern reads clearly in still shots and video. Any time a photographer, a phone camera, or a video crew will face your backdrop, order fabric and skip vinyl entirely for that setup.
-
Finishing Based on Your Hanging Setup
-
Pipe-and-Drape or Frame With Zip Ties
Order brass grommets spaced every 2 ft along the edges. They hold tension evenly and give you flexibility with how you attach the banner to the frame.
-
Horizontal Rod at Top and Bottom
Choose pole pockets. Slide the rod through the sleeve and the fabric hangs taut without any hardware visible from the front.
-
Track or Channel Mount
Go with hem and heat weld (a folded, heat-sealed edge). It fits cleanly into channel-style frame systems without added hardware.
-
Single-Sided Versus Double-Sided Based on Your Venue
Single-sided covers most step and repeat setups. Order double-sided with a blockout liner only if guests or cameras will face both sides of the banner at the same event. The blockout liner is a white layer between front and back prints that stops show-through. That situation is uncommon but worth confirming with your venue before you order.
-
Size Based on Your Backdrop Frame or Wall Space
Measure your frame or the usable wall space before you enter dimensions. Most step and repeat photo walls run 8 ft tall to match standing adult height. Width depends on how many logo repeats fit across the pattern.
A 10 ft wide wall fits roughly 2 to 3 logo columns. A 16 ft wide wall gives you space for 4 to 5 columns at standard repeat spacing. Order the exact custom dimensions your space needs.
Pair it with
Give Your Fabric Backdrop a Freestanding Frame
Your step and repeat needs a structure before it can do its job. Banner Stands give the fabric a freestanding frame that works anywhere, even venues with no pipe-and-drape system or wall mount available.
Outdoor-Facing Signage for the Same Event
Fabric handles the indoor photo wall. But any signage facing direct rain or sustained wind needs a different material. Custom Vinyl Banners at 13 oz hold up through weather conditions that would cause fabric to sag.
Complete the Branded Surface at the Base of the Display
A fabric backdrop covers the wall. Table Covers in matching fabric weight finish the surface directly in front of it, so the branded zone reads as one cohesive setup from floor to backdrop.
Build Out the Full Event Environment
Trade Show Booths pair with step and repeat backdrops for a complete branded booth. Custom Flags planted at the venue entrance pull attention before guests reach the indoor display. Canopy Tents shelter outdoor activations where the fabric backdrop needs overhead cover to stay dry.
FAQs
Does Fabric Actually Make a Visible Difference in Event Photos Compared to Vinyl?
Yes, and it shows up in every single shot. Vinyl has a glossy surface that bounces camera flash straight back at the lens, creating a washed-out streak across your logo. The 9 oz polyester fabric absorbs flash instead of reflecting it, so the repeating pattern stays fully visible in photos. If your backdrop will appear in any photography or video, the difference is not subtle.
Will the Dye-Sublimated Print on My Custom Fabric Step and Repeat Banner Hold Up After Folding and Repacking Between Events?
Dye sublimation bonds ink directly into the polyester fibers rather than sitting on the surface. The print does not crack, peel, or flake when you fold and repack the banner. Vinyl ink sits on top of the material and can crack at fold lines after repeated handling. You can fold this banner after every event, pack it in a bag, and unpack it at the next show without print damage.
What Happens if My Banner Arrives With a Print Defect or Shipping Damage?
Contact us with a photo of the damage and we send a free reprint. We do not ask you to ship the original back first. Our team reviews your photo and starts the reprint right away so you are not waiting longer than necessary.
Can I Reuse My Custom Fabric Step and Repeat Banner at Multiple Events Without the Colors Fading?
Yes. Because dye sublimation absorbs ink into the fibers, the print survives machine washing on cold, tumble drying on low, folding, and repacking across as many events as you run. Colors stay saturated through repeated use. The cost per event drops significantly after 2 to 3 uses compared to ordering a fresh vinyl banner each time.
How Long Does It Take to Get My Banner From Order to Delivery?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after you approve your proof. We send your free digital proof within 24 hours of your order. Approve before 12 PM EST and your banner goes into production the same day. Shipping time depends on your location and the carrier option you choose at checkout.
Get your artwork right
Accepted file formats are PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI. Vector files (AI or PDF with embedded vector paths) are the strongest choice for repeating logo layouts because they scale to any width without softening edges.
- Resolution
- minimum 150 DPI at final print size. Recommended 300 DPI for any banner under 4 ft wide where guests stand close enough to spot a soft edge.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in beyond the trim line on all four sides.
- Safe zone
- keep all logos and text at least 0.5 in inside the trim line so nothing gets cut during finishing.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) is the 4-color process we print in, so colors translate accurately from screen to fabric. RGB files can shift on output.
Worth knowing: dye sublimation on polyester produces slightly more muted tones than UV inkjet on vinyl. High-contrast designs and dark backgrounds reproduce richest. Light pastels on white can look flat.
Our free online design tool handles repeating logo layout setup. A professional design service is also available if you need help building the pattern from scratch. Submit your artwork as a print-ready PDF and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Machine wash cold with mild detergent. Dye-sublimated ink bonds into the polyester fibers, so it won't bleed or fade in a standard cold wash cycle. Tumble dry on low heat or hang to air dry. High heat can shrink the weave, so keep the dryer setting low.
- Steam or iron on low heat to remove wrinkles before any event. Hanging the banner for roughly 30 minutes also relaxes most wrinkles without a heat tool. Fold for storage between events. Unlike vinyl, polyester fabric doesn't crease permanently when folded, so you don't need to roll it around a tube or find extra storage space.
