Two Vinyl Weights for Short-Term and Heavy-Use Campaigns
PVC Flex vinyl runs in two weights for different campaign needs. It's a smooth, glossy material built to hold ink evenly across the full print surface. The 11 oz option suits indoor promotions or short runs where UV protection isn't a factor. Go with 16 oz for outdoor locations that take direct sun or wind. Your banner stays flat and colors stay bold through the full 1 to 3 month campaign window. Pick the weight that matches where and how long your promotion runs.
Marketing-Focused Finishing That Goes Up in Minutes
Brass grommets land every 2 ft along the perimeter. Those metal rings punch into the banner edges so you can hang with zip ties, bungee cords, or hooks in minutes. Pole pockets give you a clean rod-mount option for storefronts and event spaces without any hardware showing. And hem and heat weld (folded edges sealed with heat) reinforces the border for a clean finish on banners that need to look tight against a wall or frame. Sturdy edges mean fewer replacements mid-campaign.
Same-Day Production With a Free Proof Before We Print
Speed matters when a sale starts Friday. A2Z Printing Hub sends a free digital proof within 24 hours of your order so you confirm colors and layout before anything prints. Orders placed before 12 PM EST go into production the same day. That means your campaign banner ships before your window closes, not after. Sharp output. Fast turnaround.

Ideal for
Not the Best Fit For
Polished indoor trade show backdrops where drape quality and zero glare matter more than cost. Fabric Banners handle that job better.
Temporary window displays that need repositioning or clean removal. Window Decals in cling format are the right call there.
High-wind outdoor locations like scaffolding or tall building fences where solid vinyl catches wind and risks tearing. Specialty Mesh Banners let wind pass through without damage.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Promotional Banners configuration.
-
Matching Vinyl Weight to Your Campaign Location and Duration
Outdoor campaigns running the full 1 to 3 months in direct sun or wind need 16 oz vinyl. The extra weight keeps the banner flat on a fence line and holds color through repeated rain and UV exposure. For indoor promotions or short runs under 4 weeks, 11 oz costs less per square foot and holds up fine without UV protection. That said, start with 16 oz if you're not certain how long the banner will stay up.
-
Picking the Right Finishing for Your Mounting Setup
Here's the thing: finishing is really about where the banner physically attaches. Choose grommets if you're hanging the banner on a fence, wall, or rope line. Grommets every 2 ft give you the most mounting flexibility with zip ties, bungee cords, or hooks. Choose pole pockets if you're sliding the banner onto a rod or pipe at a storefront or event space. Add hem and heat weld (folded edges sealed with heat for a reinforced finish) when you want clean edges without any hardware showing.
-
Sizing Your Banner to the Viewing Distance and Space
-
Standard Storefront and Event Sizes
A 3 ft x 6 ft banner works for most storefronts and reads clearly from roughly 30 ft at standard letter height. Go to 4 ft x 8 ft or larger for building facades or parking lot fence lines where viewers are 40 ft or more away.
-
Sizing Text for Readability
Use 1 inch of letter height per 10 ft of viewing distance. Size your text before finalizing the design so nothing shrinks to an unreadable line at street level.
-
Single-Sided Versus Double-Sided Based on Your Display Angle
Single-sided works for any banner mounted against a wall, fence, or building where viewers see only one face. Order double-sided with a blockout layer when the banner hangs in open air and traffic approaches from both directions. That blockout layer is a white barrier between front and back prints that stops color from bleeding through.
Pair it with
Finish the Storefront at Sidewalk Level
Your promotional banner covers the vertical space above the entrance. An A-Frame Sign sits at ground level and catches buyers before they even look up, so your message hits from two heights at once.
Bring the Full Outdoor Setup Together
A banner alone doesn't brand a booth or event space. Canopy Tents and Table Covers carry your colors across the entire footprint, so the promotional banner isn't doing all the work by itself.
Try a Different Material for a Different Space
Fabric Banners give you a matte, drape-friendly surface for indoor lobbies or trade show walls where vinyl glare is a problem. Same CMYK output, softer finish.
Order Multiple Campaign Phases at Once
Custom Grand Opening Banners and Custom Sales Banners use the same PVC Flex vinyl and finishing options as your promotional banner. Order all phases together and save on shipping across the full campaign run.
FAQs
Are Promotional Banners Worth It Compared to Running a Digital Ad?
A single day of paid digital advertising typically costs more than a full-size vinyl banner that runs for 1 to 3 months. The banner works every hour the store is open, not just during a campaign window. And it's visible to foot traffic and passing cars without any ongoing spend.
Can I Get My Banner Fast Enough for a Sale Starting in 2 Days?
Orders placed before 12 PM EST go into production the same day. Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days before shipping, so a tight deadline is manageable if you order early in the day. Upload a print-ready file to avoid any back-and-forth on artwork.
What If the Colors on My Printed Banner Don't Match My Screen?
Screen colors use RGB light, and print uses CMYK ink (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined). We send a free digital proof within 24 hours so you can review the layout and flag any color concerns before we print. Converting your file to CMYK before uploading gives you the most accurate preview of the final output. This is where color accuracy gets decided, not after the banner ships.
How Do I Keep a Large Promotional Banner from Sagging or Pulling Loose?
Brass grommets punched every 2 ft along all four edges distribute tension evenly across the banner. Use bungee cords rather than rigid wire so the banner has slight give in wind without stressing the grommet holes. Banners over 10 ft include a welded seam for structural support, but even a large banner holds flat when all mounting points are used.
Do Custom Promotional Banners Hold Up if It Rains During My Outdoor Event?
PVC Flex vinyl does not absorb water. Eco-solvent and UV inkjet inks bond directly to the vinyl surface, so rain will not cause streaking or color bleed. Wipe the surface dry with a soft cloth after the event and the banner is ready to rehang. That said, prolonged standing water at the grommets can stress the edges over time, so make sure the banner hangs taut with good drainage angle.
Get your artwork right
Resolution makes or breaks a printed banner. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. PDF and AI (vector formats, meaning artwork built from mathematical paths rather than pixels) scale to any size without losing sharpness. PNG and JPG work fine at large print sizes.
- Resolution
- Set your resolution to a minimum of 150 DPI (dots per inch, the measure of print detail) at final print size. For banners under 4 ft, go to 300 DPI. Viewers get close to smaller banners, and a soft edge shows at that distance.
- Bleed and safe zone
- Add a bleed (0.25 in of extra artwork beyond the trim line) on all 4 sides to prevent white edges after cutting. Keep all text and logos inside the safe zone, which is 0.5 in from the trim line on every edge.
- Color mode
- Color mode matters. Set your file to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) rather than RGB. RGB is for screens. CMYK matches how we print, so colors come out on vinyl the way they look in your file.
Use our free online design tool at checkout to build artwork from scratch. A professional design service is also available if you need a file adapted or built from an existing layout. Submit your banner artwork as a print-ready PDF and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the print surface with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrub pads. Both scratch the vinyl surface and dull the ink over time.
- Machine washing is not an option for vinyl banners. Hand wipe only, then air dry flat before storing.
- Roll your banner around a tube for storage rather than folding it. Folds create crease lines that are hard to remove and can crack the ink along the fold edge. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sun. If the banner ships with fold lines, lay it flat in direct sunlight for roughly 30 minutes and the vinyl relaxes back to flat on its own.
