How to orderSpecifications

- Material
- PVC Flex vinyl.Smooth, glossy surface that resists moisture and holds its shape under tension at any mounting point.
- Print Method

- Color Output
- CMYK full color.Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black reproduce most brand colors within the standard print gamut.
- Finishing
- Brass grommets every 2 ft. Pole pockets. Hem and heat weld. Each option suits a different mounting setup. Pick the one that matches your hardware.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes from small storefront formats up to large building wraps.Banners with a width or height over 10 ft include a welded seam (a heat-bonded join that keeps the full panel flat).
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Both supported.Eco-solvent and UV inkjet inks hold color outdoors for roughly 6 to 12 months in direct sun. Indoor banners last longer.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided standard. Double-sided available with a blockout liner. The blockout liner is a white layer between front and back prints that stops one side from showing through.

PVC Flex Vinyl That Stays Flat on a Building or Fence for Months
PVC Flex vinyl runs in two weights for two different jobs. It's a smooth, glossy outdoor material that resists moisture and holds its shape under tension. The 11 oz weight handles light-duty or sheltered locations. The 16 oz is what you want when the banner mounts on a building facade or chain-link fence and stays up through rain, wind, and direct sun for months. Both weights hold their shape under tension, so your advertising message stays readable without sagging or curling between reorders. Sturdy edges. Flat face.
Eco-Solvent and UV Inkjet Inks That Keep Colors Bold Through Direct Sun
Eco-solvent inks bond directly to the vinyl surface. UV inkjet inks do the same, and both resist fading for roughly 6 to 12 months outdoors. That's what separates a broad brand message mounted on your building from a short-term sale banner that washes out after a few weeks of sun. And because the ink bonds to the vinyl itself rather than sitting on top, you don't get cracking or peeling as the material flexes in the wind. Bold output. Month after month.
Finishing Options That Match Your Mounting Location
Brass grommets sit every 2 ft along the hem for hanging with hooks, zip ties, or rope. Pole pockets are fabric sleeves sewn along the top or bottom edge so the banner slides onto a rod for a taut, frameless hang. Heat-welded hems reinforce the border so the banner holds its shape at whatever mounting point you already have on site. A2Z Printing Hub builds each finishing option into your proof so you can confirm the edge treatment before we print.

Ideal for
Not the Best Fit For
Indoor trade show backdrops where a matte, drape-friendly surface matters more than weather resistance. Fabric Banners handle that job better.
Temporary window displays that need repositioning or removal without hardware. Window Decals in cling format are the right call there.
High-wind fence or scaffolding locations where solid vinyl catches air and risks tearing. Specialty Mesh Banners let wind pass through and hold up in those conditions.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Advertising Banners configuration.
-
Choosing Between 11 oz and 16 oz for Your Location
16 oz PVC Flex vinyl is the right call for any banner mounting on a building exterior or fence through multiple weather cycles. The heavier material holds tension without curling at the corners, even after rain soaks the hem. Go with 11 oz only if the banner hangs indoors or stays up fewer than 3 months in a sheltered, low-wind spot. Most advertising banner buyers land on 16 oz (it's the safer bet for anything outdoors). Pick your weight in the configurator before uploading your file.
-
Matching Your Finishing to Your Mounting Hardware
Brass grommets punched every 2 ft along the hem work for most fence and building mounts. You likely already have zip ties, bungee cords, or hooks on site. But if you plan to slide the banner onto a horizontal rod at the top and bottom for a taut, frameless hang, order pole pockets instead. Select your finishing option in the configurator so the proof reflects the exact edge treatment before production starts.
-
Sizing Your Banner for the Viewing Distance at Your Site
Here's the thing: letter height drives readability more than overall banner width does. A viewer standing roughly 50 ft away needs letters at least 5 in tall to read your message comfortably. Measure your mounting wall or fence span first, then enter your exact dimensions in the size fields. Banners with a width or height over 10 ft include a welded seam (a heat-bonded join that keeps the full panel flat under tension).
-
Deciding Between a Single-Sided and Double-Sided Print
Single-sided print suits any banner mounted flat against a wall, fence, or building where viewers only see one face. Double-sided with a blockout liner (a white layer between the front and back prints that stops show-through) makes sense when the banner hangs free and both sides face traffic. Confirm both faces on the proof before approving.
Pair it with
Two Visibility Layers at Street Level
Your advertising banner covers the building above. A-Frame Signs work at sidewalk height, so foot traffic gets your message from both directions at once. Custom Flags flank the entrance and move in the wind, pulling eyes toward the banner above.
Different Materials for Different Environments
Solid vinyl catches air in high-wind fence or scaffolding locations. Specialty Mesh Banners let wind pass through the perforated surface, so the banner holds its mount without tearing. For indoor lobbies or trade show walls where a matte, drape-friendly finish matters more than weather resistance, Fabric Banners are the right swap.
Heavier or Lighter Vinyl for Your Timeline
Most advertising campaigns land on 16 oz. But if your run is shorter or the location is sheltered, Custom Outdoor Banners in the standard outdoor weight cover short-to-medium-term needs at a lower cost per square foot. Custom Heavy Duty Banners step up when the message stays up year-round or the mounting point faces sustained wind.
Outdoor Event Setup Beyond the Banner
Canopy Tents pair with your advertising banner at outdoor activations where you need covered space alongside visible signage. Table Covers finish a booth or outdoor table setup that sits directly beneath or beside the banner, keeping the full display on-brand.
FAQs
Will a Vinyl Advertising Banner Hold Up Through Rain, Wind, and Summer Heat Without Fading or Tearing?
16 oz PVC Flex vinyl holds its shape under sustained tension, and eco-solvent or UV inkjet inks resist fading for roughly 6 to 12 months in direct sun. The brass grommets punched every 2 ft along the hem distribute load so the material doesn't tear at the hang points. That said, no outdoor sign lasts forever. Plan a reorder around the 12-month mark if the banner stays up year-round.
My Brand Colors Are Very Specific. How Close Will the Printed Banner Match What I See on My Screen?
Screen colors display in RGB, and print reproduces in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). We convert your file to CMYK at the proof stage, and you'll see exactly how your colors translate before anything goes to print. Most brand colors fall within the standard CMYK gamut and reproduce accurately. Set your file to CMYK before uploading to avoid any shift between what you see on screen and what we print.
What Happens if My Banner Arrives With a Print Defect or Gets Damaged in Shipping?
Contact us with a photo of the damage and we reprint the banner at no cost. This covers print defects and shipping damage. It does not cover artwork errors approved on the proof, so review your proof carefully before clicking approve.
I Need This Banner Up Before a Campaign Launch Next Week. Can You Hit That Deadline?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Orders approved before 12 PM EST start production the same day. And carrier transit time adds to that total, so order as early as you can and confirm your delivery address at checkout to avoid delays.
Do I Need to Hire Someone to Hang This, or Can I Mount It Myself With Basic Hardware?
Most advertising banners go up without a professional installer. Brass grommets every 2 ft along the hem accept zip ties, bungee cords, or standard hooks you can buy at any hardware store. Banners over 10 ft ship folded. Hang the banner in direct sunlight for about 30 minutes after delivery to relax any fold lines before mounting.
Get your artwork right
File format sets the ceiling on print quality. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (Adobe Illustrator vector) is the strongest choice for logos because vector art scales to any banner size without softening.
- Resolution
- minimum 150 DPI at final print size, recommended 300 DPI for banners under 4 ft. Viewers get close to smaller banners, so a soft edge shows at 300 DPI before it shows at 150.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in beyond the trim line on all four sides. That extra border keeps color running to the edge after cutting so no white strip appears.
- Safe zone
- keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the trim line. Anything closer risks getting clipped during finishing.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. RGB files convert at proof stage and colors can shift. Set your file to CMYK before uploading so what you see on screen is what we print.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the vinyl surface with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt or grime. Do not use abrasive cleaners or pressure wash at close range. Both will break down the ink surface faster than normal outdoor exposure.
- Roll the banner around a tube for storage rather than folding it. Fold lines in vinyl are difficult to remove and can distort the printed image. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sun when not in use. If a crease does form, lay the banner flat in direct sunlight for about 30 minutes and the vinyl will typically relax back to flat on its own.
