   For a standard living room wall or event hall backdrop, 11 oz PVC Flex vinyl is the right call. It hangs flat, weighs less, and costs less per square foot. Go with 16 oz only if you're mounting near a doorway with regular airflow or setting up on an outdoor patio. The extra thickness keeps the banner from rippling when air moves through. Pick your weight in the configurator before uploading your design.

2. Banner Size Fits Your Wall, Not Just the Theme

   A 2 ft x 4 ft banner fits most indoor walls and table backdrops without crowding the space. Step up to 3 ft x 5 ft if you want text visible from across a larger room or if you're adding a name and photo to the main message. Measure your wall first. Match the banner width to roughly half the wall width for a balanced look that doesn't get lost behind the gift table.

4. Grommets and Pole Pockets

   Grommets punch into the banner edge every 2 ft. Command hooks, nails, zip ties, or rope all attach without extra hardware. Choose pole pockets (fabric sleeves along the top or bottom edge) if you're sliding the banner onto a curtain rod or a freestanding banner pole.

5. Hem and Heat Weld

   Hem and heat weld (folded and heat-sealed edges) works best for frame-mounted displays or backdrop stands where a clean, flat edge matters more than hanging points.

6. Single-Sided or Double-Sided Depends on Your Display Spot

   Single-sided printing covers almost every baby shower setup where the banner faces one direction. Choose double-sided with a blockout liner only if the banner hangs in a window or doorway where guests see both faces. The blockout liner sits between the front and back prints, stopping the image from showing through. It adds thickness and keeps the back image clean.

Resolution matters most on photo-heavy layouts. Minimum 150 DPI gets the job done. For any banner under 4 ft wide, go with 300 DPI since guests stand close enough to catch a soft edge. Phone photos taken at default settings often fall below 150 DPI once stretched to banner size, so check your file before uploading.

Bleed

0.25 in beyond the trim line on all four sides. This extra artwork prevents white edges after cutting.

Safe zone

Keep all text and logos 0.5 in inside the trim line so nothing important gets trimmed.

Set your color mode to CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), not RGB. RGB is a screen color mode and does not translate directly to ink, so pastels and soft nursery tones can shift unexpectedly if you submit an RGB file.
