How to orderSpecifications
Custom Graduation Banners print on PVC Flex vinyl in two weights built for two different jobs. The 11 oz weight handles indoor party backdrops, and the 16 oz weight handles outdoor yard displays through spring weather. Both weights carry full-color CMYK printing with your graduate's name, photo, school, and class year across every custom size.
- Material
- High Quality PVC Flex vinyl.A smooth, glossy surface that resists moisture and holds ink color through sun and light rain.
- Print Method
- Eco-solvent or UV inkjet. Both use weather-resistant inks that bond to the vinyl surface and hold color outdoors for 6 to 12 months.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) reproduces photos and bold graphics across the full visible color range.
- Finishing
- Brass grommets every 2 ft. Pole pockets. Hem and heat weld.Grommets are brass rings punched into the edges for hanging with hooks, zip ties, or rope.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes available.Banners wider or taller than 10 ft include a welded seam (a heat-bonded join between panels that holds without visible gaps).
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating

- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided standard. Double-sided with blockout liner available. The blockout liner is a white layer between front and back prints that stops ink from showing through.
- Weight
- 11 oz for indoor and light-duty outdoor. 16 oz for yard displays and fence mounts. The heavier the weight, the longer it holds shape in wind and direct sun.

Photo-Personalized Printing on 11 oz or 16 oz PVC Flex Vinyl
Your graduate's face deserves more than a blurry printout taped to a mailbox. PVC Flex vinyl (a smooth, glossy outdoor material) runs 11 oz for indoor party backdrops and 16 oz for yard displays that hold up through spring wind and rain. Full-color CMYK printing reproduces your photo with crisp detail and bold color across the full banner surface. Colors stay sharp from the curb, right where neighbors and guests see them first.
Brass Grommets, Pole Pockets, or Hem and Heat Weld Finishing
Finishing determines how fast you hang the banner and how clean it looks once it's up. Brass grommets land every 2 ft along the edges so you can hang with zip ties, rope, or hooks in minutes. Pole pockets slide onto any standard rod or PVC pipe frame without extra hardware. Hem and heat weld seals the border with heat for a tight, reinforced edge that grips cleanly inside a frame. Pick the finish that matches your mounting setup before you order.
Single-Sided or Double-Sided with Blockout Liner
Single-sided printing covers most graduation setups. For a street display where the banner faces two directions, double-sided with a blockout liner (a white layer between front and back that stops ink from bleeding through) keeps both sides readable. A2Z Printing Hub prints both options at full CMYK color, so neither side looks washed out or reversed.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Ongoing retail or business signage that stays up for more than a season needs a different product. [Custom Vinyl Banners] handle advertising and storefront use without the occasion-specific design.
Trade show or corporate displays call for a structured, non-celebration look. [Fabric Banners] or Trade Show Booths fit that setting better.
Permanent outdoor signage lasting longer than 12 months needs a harder material. [Custom Metal Signs] hold up for multi-year outdoor use without fading.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Graduation Banners configuration.
-
Vinyl Weight Depends on Your Display Location
Outdoor yard displays need 16 oz PVC Flex vinyl. That weight holds its shape on H-stakes and fence mounts through April and May rain without sagging or curling at the edges. Indoor party backdrops work fine on 11 oz vinyl, which costs less and still prints your graduate's photo sharp against a wall or gift table. Pick your location first, then pick your weight.
-
Banner Size Follows Viewing Distance and Mounting Space
Here's the thing: most families guess too small. A 2 ft x 4 ft banner suits a balcony railing or an indoor wall where guests stand within roughly 8 ft. A 3 ft x 6 ft banner fills a party backdrop or a driveway entrance cleanly. For a front yard display readable from about 30 ft out, go with a 4 ft x 8 ft banner. Use the configurator above to enter your exact dimensions.
-
Finishing Type Matches How You Plan to Hang It
Grommets every 2 ft work for almost every setup: zip ties on a fence, rope between two posts, or bungee cords on a railing. If you're sliding the banner onto a PVC pipe frame or a wooden rod, choose pole pockets instead. Hem and heat weld suits frame-mounted displays where the frame grips the border directly.
-
Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided Depends on Foot Traffic Direction
Single-sided printing covers the vast majority of graduation banner setups. Go double-sided with a blockout liner (the white layer between front and back that stops ink from showing through) only when your banner faces two directions at once. A street-facing driveway display where cars approach from both ends is the clearest case for it. Single-sided is the right call everywhere else.
Pair it with
Flag the Driveway Before Guests Spot the Banner
Custom Flags planted at the curb pull attention from down the street. That gives your yard display two layers of visibility before anyone reaches the front lawn. A-Frame Signs at the sidewalk edge direct foot traffic straight to the party entrance without confusion.
Shelter the Party Space
A Canopy Tent over the backyard gathering area keeps guests comfortable. The banner hangs from the frame above the gift table while everyone stays out of the sun. Table Covers in matching school colors tie the whole setup together so the display reads as one cohesive scene.
Extend the Celebration Indoors
Custom Party Banners cover the interior reception space if the yard banner handles the exterior display. Custom Photo Banners work as a large-format photo-first layout inside the venue when the celebration calls for a timeline or collage wall.
Keep the Display Going After the Party
Custom Decals applied to bedroom windows or interior walls carry the graduation theme beyond party day. And Custom Anniversary Banners follow the same ordering process for families marking a second milestone alongside the graduation.
FAQs
Will My Graduate's Photo Print Clearly at Yard Banner Size?
The short answer: yes, if the source file is sharp enough. We recommend uploading photos at 300 DPI (dots per inch, the measure of image detail) for any layout under 4 ft wide. At 4 ft x 8 ft, 150 DPI is the floor, but 300 DPI gives you noticeably crisper results where faces are the focal point. Our free digital proof shows you exactly how the photo renders before we print anything.
Can I Get My Banner in Time for the Ceremony?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days. Orders approved before 12 PM EST go into production the same day. Plan on at least 5 to 7 business days total from order to delivery, which covers production and transit combined. Order the moment your graduate's school confirms the ceremony date and you'll have time to spare.
What Happens If My Banner Arrives Damaged or the Colors Look Wrong?
We reprint it at no charge. Your approved digital proof is the reference. If the finished banner does not match that proof, or if it arrives damaged in transit, contact us and we take care of it. You do not need to argue the case or send a long explanation.
Do I See a Proof Before the Banner Goes to Print?
Yes, every order gets a free digital proof within 24 hours. Check the graduate's name spelling, class year, school name, photo placement, and colors before you approve. Nothing prints until you give the go-ahead. And if something looks off, just flag it and we adjust.
Can I Order a Banner Wider Than 10 ft for a Large Yard or Fence Display?
Banners wider or taller than 10 ft include a welded seam, which is a heat-bonded join that holds two panels together without a visible gap in the printed image. The seam runs clean and the graphic reads continuously across the full width. Order your exact dimensions in the configurator and we handle the rest.
Get your artwork right
Resolution is the first thing to check on a photo-heavy graduation banner. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. Minimum 150 DPI works for large viewing distances. For any banner under 4 ft where a face or name sits close to eye level, 300 DPI is the target. Soft edges on a grad photo show up fast at yard banner size.
- Bleed
- extend your artwork 0.25 in beyond the trim line on all four sides. This prevents white edges after the banner is cut to size.
- Safe zone
- keep all text, faces, and logos at least 0.5 in inside the trim line so nothing gets clipped during finishing.
- Color mode
- submit files in CMYK, not RGB. RGB files convert to CMYK at the proof stage and colors can shift slightly during that conversion, especially with school colors that sit near the edge of the CMYK range.
Our free online design tool includes graduation templates with pre-set photo zones, name fields, and class year placeholders. And if your layout needs a hand, our design team can place photos, school colors, and text for you. Submit your banner artwork as a print-ready PDF and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the vinyl surface with a damp cloth and mild soap after the event. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scrub pads. Those scratch the ink surface and shorten the life of the print.
- Roll the banner loosely for storage. Folding creates crease lines that do not fully relax and can distort the printed image over time. Store it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, since heat and UV exposure break down the vinyl even when it isn't in use.
- If a crease forms during shipping or handling, lay the banner flat in direct sunlight for about 30 minutes. The vinyl relaxes and the crease typically flattens on its own.
