How to orderSpecifications
Custom Reflective Vinyl Decals run on 4 mil engineer-grade reflective vinyl with a permanent adhesive backing and full-color UV printing on the reflective face. They're built for safety markings, equipment identification, and any application where your decal needs to stay visible under headlights or flashlights, not just in daylight.

4 mil Engineer-Grade Reflective Vinyl With Permanent Adhesive
Engineer-grade reflective vinyl runs 4 mil thick on every decal we produce. The surface uses a micro-prismatic or glass-bead layer that bounces light back toward its source, making it visible under headlights and flashlights. That thickness gives you a sturdy, flexible sheet that conforms to flat and slightly curved surfaces without cracking. The permanent adhesive bonds to painted metal, plastic, glass, and equipment surfaces, holding firm outdoors for 3 to 5 years without lifting at the edges. Durable adhesion. Night-visible surface. Both in one decal.
Full-Color UV Printing on a Reflective Surface
UV printing (a process where ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light) goes directly onto the reflective face, not over a laminate layer. That direct bond gives you crisp, waterproof graphics that stay sharp in daylight and bounce light back toward a driver or flashlight at night. A2Z Printing Hub runs full-color CMYK output on every order, so your logo, safety symbol, or identification text reads clearly in both conditions. And here's the thing: most buyers assume reflective decals look washed out in daylight. They do not. Colors stay bold under direct sun because the UV-cured ink sits on top of the reflective layer, not behind it.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 in Wide
Die-cutting trims the vinyl precisely to your design edges with no background rectangle. Kiss-cutting goes through the vinyl only, leaving the backing sheet intact, so your decal peels cleanly at application. Custom shapes up to 58.5 in wide ship as a single piece. Orders wider than 58.5 in arrive in multiple pieces with an alignment overlap marked for on-site joining.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Vehicle-specific placements sized for a car hood, truck door, or jeep bumper belong on Vehicle Decals. That product includes vehicle-type sizing templates and placement guides built for those surfaces.
Full window coverage or perforated see-through graphics are a better match for Window Decals, which covers perforated vinyl and static cling options.
Floor-rated, non-slip foot-traffic decals use a different construction entirely. Floor Decals run a 3 mil vinyl base with 7 mil non-slip lamination rated for that use.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Reflective Vinyl Decals configuration.
-
Night Visibility Is the Primary Reason You Need This Decal
The short answer: if someone needs to read your decal under headlights or a flashlight, order reflective. Engineer-grade reflective vinyl bounces light back toward its source, so a driver at 50 ft sees the marking clearly in the dark. Standard white vinyl does not do this. If your decal lives in a lit indoor space where night visibility is not a factor, standard vinyl costs less and still carries the same 3 to 5 year outdoor rating.
-
Your Surface Is a Vehicle, Equipment Panel, or Barrier
Reflective vinyl uses the same permanent adhesive as standard vinyl decals. It bonds to painted metal, plastic, and equipment surfaces and holds for 3 to 5 years outdoors without lifting at the edges. But if you need a decal sized and templated for a specific car door, truck hood, or bumper placement, go to Vehicle Decals instead. Those include vehicle-type sizing guides built for those surfaces.
-
Your Design Is a Custom Shape, Not a Standard Rectangle
Die-cutting trims the vinyl to your artwork edges exactly. No white border, no background rectangle. A logo, directional arrow, or safety symbol ships as its own shape at any size up to 58.5 in wide. Worth knowing: orders wider than 58.5 in ship in multiple pieces with an alignment overlap marked on the backing sheet. Upload your file on a transparent background and we cut around the design edges.

Standard Vinyl Already Works for Your Use Case
Honestly, reflective vinyl is not the right call for every outdoor decal. If your surface stays lit and night visibility is never a concern, standard white vinyl or clear vinyl costs less. Both print the same full-color CMYK output with the same durability. Choose reflective only when low-light visibility is a real requirement for your application.
Pair it with
Complementary Products for Fixed Signage
Reflective decals mark equipment and barriers at close range. Custom Signs and Custom Banners cover the same location at height, giving drivers a readable marker from farther out and a close-range reflective confirmation at surface level.
Alternative Materials When Night Visibility Isn't Needed
Standard vinyl gives you the same 3 to 5 year outdoor rating and the same permanent adhesive at a lower cost. For custom shapes on lit surfaces, go with Custom Die Cut Vinyl Decals. Need a specific car door, truck hood, or bumper placement with sizing templates? Vehicle Decals are built for that.
Different Surfaces, Same Adhesive System
Helmet Decals use the same durable vinyl and permanent adhesive, die-cut for curved helmet surfaces. Door Decals finish the identification system inside a facility where your reflective decals are already marking the exterior barriers and loading dock areas.
Inside the Facility
Floor Decals and Window Decals complete the interior safety and wayfinding system. Reflective decals handle the outdoor and low-light zones. These two handle the interior routes and glass surfaces.
FAQs
Do Reflective Decals Look Dull or Flat in Daylight When the Reflective Effect Is Not Active?
This is the most common worry, and it's worth addressing directly. In daylight, engineer-grade reflective vinyl shows your full-color UV-printed graphics clearly on a bright silver-white surface. The reflective layer sits beneath the ink, so colors read sharp in normal light. You're not trading daytime appearance for night visibility.
Will the Reflective Surface Hold Up After Months of Rain, Road Grime, and Direct Sun?
Weather resistance is assigned to this block for a reason. UV printing cures ink directly onto the reflective face, creating a waterproof, scratch-resistant surface rated for 3 to 5 years of outdoor exposure. Rain, road grime, and temperature cycling don't lift the adhesive or fade the ink under normal conditions. Indoor use extends that lifespan further because UV exposure is the primary cause of surface degradation.
Can I Get a Shape That Matches My Logo Exactly, Not Just a Rectangle?
Yes. Die-cutting trims the vinyl to the exact edges of your artwork, so a logo, badge shape, or custom safety symbol ships as its own outline with no background rectangle. Submit your file on a transparent background (PNG or AI format), and we cut around the design edges at any size up to 58.5 in wide.
How Long Does It Take to Get My Order After I Approve the Proof?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Orders placed before 12 PM EST enter production the same day. Shipping adds 1 to 5 business days depending on your location within the USA. And if you need a quick turnaround, submitting a print-ready file at checkout speeds up the proof step.
What Happens If My Decals Arrive Damaged or Colors Don't Match My Approved Proof?
We reprint it at no charge. Your approved proof is the standard we print to. If the output doesn't match or the order arrives damaged, contact us with a photo and we start the reprint immediately. No arguments, no restocking fees.
Get your artwork right
Resolution sets how sharp your decal looks at close range. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI and PDF vector formats are best for logos because they scale to any size without softening. For raster files (PNG or JPG), 150 DPI is the floor. Go with 300 DPI on any decal under 4 ft. That's the range where a viewer gets close enough to see a soft edge on text or fine lines.
- Color mode
- Set your color mode to CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the 4-color process we print in, so what you see in your CMYK file matches the output on the reflective face. RGB files shift color at conversion and can produce unexpected results on safety markings where color accuracy matters.
- Bleed
- Build in 0.25 in of bleed on all sides and keep critical text or logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge. For die-cut decals, submit your artwork on a transparent background so we cut around your design edges exactly.
Not ready to upload? Our free online design tool and professional design service are both available at checkout. Submit your artwork on a transparent background for die-cut decals and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before washing the surface. The permanent adhesive needs that time to fully bond, especially on painted metal and plastic. After full cure, clean with mild soap and water.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or scrubbing pads on the reflective face. Abrasive contact scratches the micro-prismatic surface layer (the layer that bounces light back toward its source) and reduces reflectivity over time. Avoid high-pressure washing directly on the decal for the first 2 weeks. Normal hand washing and low-pressure rinse are safe after that point.
- For removal, apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Adhesive residue left on the surface removes with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth.
