How to orderSpecifications
Custom Baseball Helmet Decals run on 4 mil white PVC calendar film with permanent adhesive and UV-printed color at 720 DPI minimum. Every decal is die-cut to your logo shape and sized for batting helmet shell panels, typically 2 to 4 in. Sweat resistance and adhesive grip on glossy ABS plastic are built into the material from the start.

- CMYK full-color at 720 DPI minimum.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) reproduces team logos and gradients accurately at small decal sizes.
- Finishing
- Die-cut to custom shape, kiss-cut on backing sheet.Your exact logo outline is cut through the vinyl only, leaving the backing intact for clean, tear-free peeling.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes up to 58.5 in wide. Baseball helmet decals typically run 2 to 4 in to fit batting shell panels.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for indoor and outdoor use. Permanent adhesive and UV-cured ink hold through roughly 3 to 6 months of regular outdoor play.
- Single/Double-Sided

4 Mil PVC Calendar Film Sized for Batting Helmet Shells
4 mil white PVC calendar film runs on every baseball helmet decal we produce. It's a thin, flexible vinyl that conforms to curved surfaces. We cut each decal to the 2 to 4 in range that fits batting shell panels without overlapping vents or hardware. Thin enough to follow the compound curve of a glossy ABS shell. Tough enough to hold through a full roster's worth of bat bag friction, sweat, and dugout contact. A2Z Printing Hub cuts every decal to your exact shape, so nothing hangs past a panel edge.
UV-Printed Color at 720 DPI With Permanent Adhesive
UV printing (a process where ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light) locks color into the vinyl surface at 720 DPI minimum. That means team logos stay bold and scratch resistant through rain, heat, and repeated sweat exposure across a full season. The permanent adhesive bonds directly to glossy ABS plastic, which is the slick, hard shell material on most batting helmets. This is not a general-purpose sticker adhesive. It's formulated specifically to grip curved, nonporous plastic where standard decals lift at the corners by week three.
Die-Cut to Shape and Kiss-Cut on Backing Sheet
Die-cutting gives each decal a clean logo shape with no white box around it. That means cutting the vinyl to the exact outline of your design rather than leaving a rectangle border. Kiss-cutting (cutting through the vinyl layer only, leaving the backing sheet intact) means players peel and apply without tearing or folding the decal mid-application. Crisp edges. Clean peel. Both cuts happen in one pass, so your decals arrive on flat backing sheets ready for same-day application.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full helmet wraps covering the entire batting shell surface fall outside what these decals cover. Helmet decals are spot graphics sized 2 to 4 in. A local wrap specialist handles full-shell coverage.
Flat or painted-metal surfaces like toolboxes and lockers need a different material. The 4 mil vinyl here is shaped for curved helmet shells. Vehicle Decals or Vinyl Decals are the better fit for those surfaces.
Broader team branding on jerseys, equipment bags, or locker room walls belongs with Sports Decals, which covers those surfaces with the right material and sizing.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Baseball Helmet Decals configuration.
-
Ordering for a Full Roster Versus a Single Helmet
Here's the thing: roster orders and single-helmet orders need different quantity planning. For a full team of 15 or more helmets, upload your logo once and set your total count. Volume pricing kicks in at 25 or more units, so ordering the full roster together saves money versus buying in small batches. Add roughly 10 to 15 percent above your roster count for replacements and players who join mid-season.
-
Side-Panel Logo Only Versus Logo Plus Back-Panel Number
A side-logo-only order is simpler: one die-cut shape, one artwork file. But if you need individual player numbers on the back panel, include both elements in a single artwork file or list the numbers at checkout. We die-cut each piece separately so the number sits cleanly on the back panel without overlapping the logo placement.
-
Standard Matte Decal Versus Reflective Material for Night Games
Most rec league and school teams do not need reflective material. Standard 4 mil PVC with UV-printed color holds up through a full season of daytime play. Teams running evening or night games under field lights are the exception. Custom Reflective Helmet Decals use engineer-grade reflective vinyl for low-light visibility. That's a material that bounces light back toward its source. Order the reflective version from the same helmet decals category if your schedule includes night play.
-
Youth Helmet Sizing Versus High School or College Shell Sizing
Sizing is the decision coaches most often skip. Youth batting helmet shells run smaller than high school or college models. Most youth side panels fit a 2 to 3 in decal, while high school and college shells typically accept a 3 to 4 in decal. Check your helmet brand's side-panel dimensions before uploading artwork. Our free digital proof confirms fit before we print, so nothing goes to production at the wrong size.
Pair it with
Other Helmet Types, Same Process
Your program may run more than one sport. Football, Lacrosse, and Hockey Helmet Decals use the same 4 mil PVC and die-cut method, so coaches ordering across multiple sports get consistent branding on every helmet in one place.
Night Visibility Upgrade
Teams playing evening games need more than a sharp logo. Custom Reflective Helmet Decals use engineer-grade reflective vinyl on the same batting shell sizing. That material bounces light back toward its source, so your team stays visible under field lights without changing the design.
Broader Team Branding Beyond the Helmet
A matching helmet decal is one piece. Sports Decals cover equipment bags, dugout walls, and locker room surfaces with the same team logo, giving your roster a consistent look from helmet to gear bag.
Game-Day Field Presence
Custom Banners hang on dugout fences and carry your team logo at a scale visible from the stands. Pairing banners with helmet decals ties the on-field identity together from the player's head to the sideline fence.
FAQs
Will Decals Stay on Glossy ABS Plastic Through a Full Season?
The short answer: yes, when the shell is clean before application. Permanent adhesive on 4 mil PVC calendar film bonds directly to glossy ABS plastic, the shell material on most batting helmets. It holds through sweat, rain, and bat bag friction across a full season of regular play, roughly 3 to 6 months outdoors. Wipe the shell with isopropyl alcohol before applying and press firmly from the center outward.
How Do I Apply a Decal to a Curved Shell Without Bubbles or Lifting Edges?
Start at one edge, not the center. Peel the backing about 1 in, align the decal, and press that leading edge down first. Then slowly pull the backing away while pressing outward with a credit card or squeegee. For tight curves, a hair dryer on low warms the 4 mil vinyl just enough to flex around the shell without stretching the design.
How Many Decals Should I Order for My Team Roster?
Count your current roster, then add 10 to 15 percent for mid-season additions and application errors. A team of 20 players should order 23 to 24 sets minimum. Volume pricing applies at 25 or more units, so rounding up to that threshold often costs less per decal than ordering exactly to roster count.
Will the Decal Damage the Shell If I Remove It at Season End?
It will not damage the ABS shell if you remove it correctly. Peel slowly from one corner, and use a hair dryer on low heat if the edge resists. Rubbing alcohol clears any adhesive residue without scratching the surface. Do not scrape with a metal tool.
How Long Does Production Take After I Upload Artwork?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after you approve your free digital proof. Orders placed before 12 PM EST enter production the same day. Bulk team orders of 30 or more helmets typically add 1 to 2 business days. Decals ship flat in rigid mailers from our US facility.
Get your artwork right
Resolution matters most at small decal sizes. We print custom baseball helmet decals at 720 DPI minimum, but your source file needs to keep pace. Submit at 300 DPI for anything under 4 in, because that's where viewers get close enough to spot a soft edge. At 150 DPI, fine logo lines start to blur on a 2 in decal.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF) are the best choice for logos because they scale to any size without losing sharpness.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the four-color process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) our printers use, so colors match your screen expectation at final output.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. **Safe zone:** keep logos and text at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so die-cutting doesn't clip your artwork.
For die-cut decals, place your logo on a transparent background so we cut around the exact outline. Our free online design tool at checkout walks you through placement. Need a logo built from scratch or a raster file converted to a clean vector? Our professional design service handles that.
Submit your artwork on a transparent background and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the decal area with a damp cloth after each game. Sweat and dirt buildup dulls the UV-printed surface over time, so a quick wipe after play keeps colors looking sharp through the season. Do not soak the helmet in water or run it through a dishwasher. The permanent adhesive holds under normal sweat and rain, but prolonged soaking can soften the bond at the edges.
- Store helmets in a bag or bin away from direct sun when not in use. Extended heat (such as a car trunk in summer) degrades the adhesive faster than regular outdoor play.
- To remove a decal at season end, peel slowly from one corner. Use a hair dryer on low heat if the edge resists, then wipe any residue with rubbing alcohol. It will not scratch the ABS shell.
