- Material
- 4 mil white PVC calendar film with reflective vinyl surface layer. The reflective layer bounces light back toward its source for visibility under headlights and flashlights.

- UV printed, meaning ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light on contact with the surface. This creates a scratch-resistant, waterproof finish that holds through sweat and rain.

- Full-color CMYK at 720 DPI minimum.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) reproduces any logo with crisp detail at 2 in to 6 in decal sizes.
- Finishing
- Die-cut to any custom shape. Kiss-cut (cut through vinyl only, backing stays intact) on backing sheet.Decals peel cleanly from the backing for easy, bubble-free application.

- Custom sizes up to 58.5 in wide. Most helmet decals run 2 in to 6 in depending on helmet type and placement zone.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Water and scratch resistant. Rated for outdoor use.Sports helmets typically last 3 to 6 months of active play. Motorcycle and fire helmets typically last 1 to 3 years.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided only. Printed reflective face on front, permanent adhesive on back. There is no second printed face on this product.

Reflective Vinyl Surface That Bounces Light Back at Night
Reflective vinyl sits as the outer layer on every decal we produce here. It's a material that returns light directly toward its source. Under a car's headlights or a flashlight beam, the surface catches that light and sends it straight back. Motorcycle riders, firefighters, and cyclists stay visible in low-light conditions without adding any bulk to the shell. Sharp return. No added weight.
4 Mil PVC Calendar Film Die-Cut to Any Helmet Shape
Four mil PVC calendar film is thin enough to conform to compound helmet curves without bubbling or cracking. That thickness matters on rounded shells where thicker vinyl would lift at the edges within weeks. A2Z Printing Hub cuts every decal to the exact outline of your logo, so the graphic sits flush against the shell rather than floating on a rectangular border. Die-cut to your shape. Fits the curve.
720 DPI UV Print With Permanent Adhesive on Any Helmet Shell
UV printing locks color into the reflective surface at 720 DPI minimum. Ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light, producing crisp text and bold logo detail at typical helmet decal sizes of 2 in to 6 in. The permanent adhesive bonds to ABS plastic, polycarbonate, fiberglass, and thermoplastic shells. And it holds through sweat, rain, and contact for a full season or longer. Color accuracy stays in the Specifications block, but the short version: CMYK output at this resolution keeps fine lines readable on a curved surface.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full helmet wraps covering the entire shell from crown to brim. Helmet decals are spot graphics placed on specific zones. A local wrap specialist handles full motorcycle helmet wraps.
Flat vehicle body panels, bumpers, or painted metal. The 4 mil vinyl here is shaped for curved helmet shells. Vehicle Decals use the same UV print process on material rated for those flat and gently curved surfaces.
Broad team branding beyond the helmet itself. Sports Decals cover jersey numbers, equipment bags, and locker room walls with the right material for each surface.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Reflective Helmet Decals configuration.
-
Reflective Versus Standard Vinyl for Your Helmet Type
Here's the thing: the material call is simple once you know when the helmet goes on. Reflective vinyl is the right choice for any helmet used after dark or in low-light conditions. Motorcycle road riding, fire scene operations, bicycle commuting, and construction night shifts all need reflective.
Standard vinyl works for daytime-only applications like football and baseball under stadium lights. But if your helmet ever goes out after dark, order reflective. Start your order by selecting reflective vinyl in the configurator.
-
Ordering for a Full Team Roster Versus One or Two Helmets
Bulk ordering shifts both your price and your timeline. Team orders of 30 or more sets unlock volume pricing and typically add 1 to 2 business days to production. Count your roster, then add 10 to 15 percent for replacements and new players.
Enter that quantity in the configurator to see your per-unit cost drop. Individual riders and safety officers ordering 1 to 5 decals get the same die-cut precision at standard quantity pricing, with no minimum order required.
-
Sizing the Decal to Fit Your Helmet Placement Zone
Size follows helmet type and placement zone, not personal preference. Football helmet side logos typically run 3 in to 5 in. Baseball and hockey logos run 2 in to 4 in.
Motorcycle helmet graphics can run larger depending on the shell zone you're targeting. Measure your placement area before uploading your design. And our free digital proof shows the exact size on a helmet template so you confirm fit before we print a single decal.
-
Confirming Your Helmet Shell Material
This 4 mil PVC with permanent adhesive bonds to ABS plastic, polycarbonate, fiberglass, leather, and thermoplastic shells. It does not work on fabric or foam surfaces. If your shell is one of those five compatible materials, upload your design and we confirm fit in the proof before production starts. Fabric or foam surfaces need a different product entirely.
Pair it with
Same Shell, Different Graphic Layer
Riders who want both a dedicated safety strip and a full custom graphic on the same helmet can pair reflective decals with Custom Motorcycle Helmet Decals. Both ship flat in rigid mailers and apply to the same DOT-rated shell without layering conflicts. - Custom Motorcycle Helmet Decals
Complete the Fire Helmet Order in One Shipment
Fire departments ordering reflective decals for night scene visibility often need rank insignia and station numbers on the same helmet. Custom Fire Helmet Decals cover those placements and ship together in one rigid mailer. - Custom Fire Helmet Decals
Extend Team Branding Beyond the Helmet
Football coaches who brand helmet shells seasonally often need matching graphics on equipment bags and sideline gear. Sports Decals cover those surfaces with sizing and material matched to each application. - Custom Football Helmet Decals - Sports Decals
Match the Rider's Helmet to the Bike
Motorcycle riders who add reflective decals to their helmet frequently want the same graphic language on their bike's body panels. Vehicle Decals use the same UV print process on material rated for painted metal and plastic surfaces. - Vehicle Decals
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Helmet decals wrap compound curves, so your file setup matters more here than on flat-surface decals. Start with the right format.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF) are the best choice for logos because they scale to any size without softening.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum at final print size. For decals under 4 in, 300 DPI is the better call. That's where buyers get close enough to spot a soft edge on a curved shell.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Keep logos and text at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so the die-cut doesn't clip live artwork.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. RGB is a screen color system. CMYK matches how our UV press lays down ink, so your colors come out on vinyl the way they look in your file.
- Transparent background
- required for die-cut shapes. We cut around your design's exact outline. A white background tells us to cut a rectangle.
- Minimum feature size
- 0.5 in at final print scale. Thinner lines and small text break up on curved vinyl.
Use our free online design tool at checkout or add our professional design service if you need artwork built from scratch. Submit your artwork on a transparent background for die-cut decals and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Sports Helmets (Football, Baseball, Hockey)
- Wipe the decal area with a damp cloth after each game or practice. Do not soak the helmet in water or run it through a dishwasher. Sweat and dirt buildup dulls the reflective surface over time.
- Replace decals that show edge lifting, cracking, or loss of reflectivity. Most teams replace decals at the end of each season, roughly every 3 to 6 months of active play.
Motorcycle and Fire Helmets
- Clean with mild soap and water. Do not use petroleum-based cleaners, polish, or solvent near the decal. These soften the adhesive and cause edge lifting. Sustained heat above roughly 140 degrees Fahrenheit degrades the adhesive bond, so avoid leaving the helmet on a hot dashboard.
- For removal on any helmet type, peel slowly from one corner. Apply low heat from a hair dryer to soften the adhesive if the edge resists, then wipe residue with isopropyl alcohol.
