How to orderSpecifications
Custom Motorcycle Helmet Decals ship on 4 mil white PVC calendar film with a matte finish, die-cut to the exact contour of your artwork. This is a thin, sturdy vinyl built to bond to curved polycarbonate, fiberglass, and ABS shells without cracking or lifting. It's the right choice for riders who want graphics that hold through road exposure and repeated cleaning.
- Material
- 4 mil white PVC calendar film, matte finish.Thin enough to conform to compound helmet curves without cracking or lifting at the edges.
- Print Method
- UV printed, ink cured instantly by ultraviolet light.Gives you a scratch-resistant, waterproof surface that holds color through road exposure.
- Color Output
- CMYK full-color at 720 DPI minimum.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) reproduces accurate color across logos, gradients, and fine text.
- Finishing
- Die-cut to custom shape. Kiss-cut on backing sheet.Kiss-cut means the backing stays intact, so peeling and applying stays clean and controlled.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes up to 58.5 in wide. Most helmet spot graphics run between 2 in and 6 in, but larger panels are available.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Outdoor rated for roughly 3 to 5 years in direct sun, rain, and road conditions.Indoor use typically extends lifespan beyond that range.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided only.Printed face carries your design. Adhesive back bonds to the helmet shell.
- Adhesive
- Permanent, rated for outdoor use on polycarbonate, fiberglass, and ABS surfaces.Bonds firmly but removes with low heat and slow peeling, leaving the shell scratch-free.

4 Mil PVC Calendar Film Contour-Cut for Helmet Curves
4 mil white PVC calendar film is the material every helmet decal ships on. Thin matters here. A thick laminate traps heat against the shell and can alter how the material flexes on impact. At 4 mil, the vinyl conforms to compound curves without bubbling or lifting at the edges. Contour-cut to your exact design outline. No gaps, no overlap, no guesswork on fit.
UV Printing at 720 DPI With Water and Scratch Resistance
UV printing at 720 DPI minimum cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, locking color into the surface rather than sitting on top of it. Bold logos stay bold. Fine text on a name strip stays sharp and readable after rain, road grime, and roughly 3 to 5 years of direct sun exposure. And because the ink bonds at the molecular level, a helmet wash with soap and water does not dull the finish. Crisp from day one, crisp two seasons later.
Permanent Adhesive That Bonds Without Affecting DOT or Snell Ratings
Permanent adhesive bonds firmly to polycarbonate, fiberglass, and ABS helmet shells. Here's the thing: riders worry that adding a decal voids their DOT or Snell certification. It does not. The adhesive adds no meaningful thickness to the shell, does not trap heat, and does not alter shell flex. A2Z Printing Hub uses light permanent adhesive rated for outdoor curved surfaces, so your certification stays intact after application.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full helmet wraps covering the entire shell surface. These are spot graphics, not full-coverage wraps. A local wrap specialist handles full-shell motorcycle helmet wraps.
Fairings, tank panels, or flat body surfaces where a thicker, surface-specific vinyl holds better. Vehicle Decals are sized and adhesive-rated for those applications.
Broad roster branding for football, baseball, or hockey teams. Custom Football Helmet Decals and Custom Baseball Helmet Decals are templated and sized for those sport-specific shells.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Motorcycle Helmet Decals configuration.
-
Standard Graphic vs. Reflective Safety Strip
Not every ride happens in daylight. Standard 4 mil PVC calendar film works well for logos, name strips, and club patches worn in daylight conditions. But standard PVC does not bounce light back toward oncoming traffic after dark.
Custom Reflective Helmet Decals use a reflective surface layer that returns headlights at roughly 200 ft. Add the reflective version to your cart alongside any standard graphic order so your rear panel works at night while your side logo works in the day.
-
Sizing Your Decal to Your Helmet's Available Surface
Full-face helmets typically give you a usable side panel of about 3 in to 5 in. The rear panel runs about 4 in to 6 in. Modular helmets run slightly narrower on the chin bar.
Keep your design within those bounds and upload it on a transparent background so we cut exactly to your artwork outline. Oversizing a graphic past the flat zone of a curved panel causes edge lifting, so match your file dimensions to your actual surface before you order.
-
Single Decal vs. a Full Club Set
A solo rider ordering 1 or 2 decals gets the same die-cut precision as a larger run. But if you're outfitting a club of 10 or more riders with matching graphics, order all sets in one job. Volume pricing starts at 25 or more units, and the per-piece cost drops noticeably at that threshold. Splitting a club order across multiple smaller jobs costs more and risks slight color variation between batches.
-
Motorcycle Helmet Decals vs. Fairing or Tank Graphics
Our motorcycle helmet decals use the same 4 mil PVC as our Vehicle Decals, but the contour-cut is shaped for curved helmet shells, not flat panels. If you also need matching graphics on your tank, fender, or fairing, add those under Vehicle Decals in the same order. The UV print process and adhesive are identical, so colors match across both surfaces without a second proof round.
Pair it with
Add Reflective Coverage to Any Standard Order
Your standard 4 mil PVC graphic covers logos and name strips, but it does not bounce light back at night. Custom Reflective Helmet Decals use the same die-cut process on reflective vinyl. Apply the standard graphic to the side panel and the reflective strip to the rear in one combined order.
Match Your Helmet Graphics to Your Bike
The same UV print process and 4 mil PVC used on your helmet decal runs on Vehicle Decals and Custom Motorcycle Decals. Order tank, fender, and fairing graphics in the same job and colors match across every surface without any guessing.
Brand Beyond the Helmet
Your club logo on a helmet is a start. Sports Decals put that same artwork on gear bags, water bottles, and equipment cases. Your group gets a consistent look across roughly 6 to 8 surfaces without a second design file.
Rally and Event Presence
A helmet decal works on the road. Custom Banners put your club name or ride charity on a tent backdrop or registration table at the event itself, using the same artwork file you uploaded for the helmet.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Resolution decides how crisp the die-cut edge looks on a curved surface. Submit files at 300 DPI at final print size. 150 DPI is the floor, but anything under 4 in wide benefits from 300 DPI because that's where riders look closely enough to spot a soft outline.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF) are best for logos with sharp edges and fine text.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the four-ink process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) our printer uses, so what you see on screen matches what comes out on the decal.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. **Safe zone:** keep logos and text at least 0.5 in from the cut edge. Minimum feature size of 0.5 in keeps fine detail readable after contouring to the helmet shell.
For die-cut decals, upload your artwork on a transparent background so we cut to the exact design outline. And if you don't have a file ready, our free online design tool and professional design service are both available at checkout. Submit your artwork and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- **Cleaning your helmet decal:** Wait 24 hours after application before exposing the decal to rain or washing. This gives the permanent adhesive time to fully bond to the helmet shell. Clean the decal area with mild soap and water only. Petroleum-based cleaners, polish, and solvent sprays soften the vinyl adhesive and cause edge lifting, so do not use them on or near the decal.
- **Storage and heat exposure:** Avoid leaving your helmet on a hot dashboard or in direct sun for extended periods. Sustained heat above roughly 150 degrees Fahrenheit weakens the adhesive bond over time. To remove a decal, peel slowly from one corner, use a hair dryer on low heat if the adhesive resists, and wipe any remaining residue with rubbing alcohol. Metal scraping tools scratch the helmet shell, so skip them entirely.
