Custom Helmet Decals - FAQ
No. Helmet decals use thin 2 to 3 mil vinyl with a light permanent adhesive that does not alter shell flex or trap heat between layers. This keeps your DOT, Snell, NFPA, or NOCSAE certification intact. Do not cover the certification label itself, and do not stack multiple decal layers on the same spot.
Clean the shell with isopropyl alcohol and let it dry fully before you start. Peel the backing and anchor one edge of the decal, then press outward slowly with the included squeegee, working along the curve in short strokes. For tight compound curves, warm the vinyl briefly with a hair dryer on low so it conforms without creasing. Small residual bubbles can be punctured with a pin and pressed flat.
Order your roster count plus 10 to 15 percent for replacements, application errors, and mid-season additions. A 40-player roster needs roughly 45 to 47 sets. Volume pricing starts at 25 or more units and applies automatically in the configurator, so you see the per-unit cost before you check out.
Standard UV-printed PVC vinyl holds through roughly 3 to 6 months of active play, which covers most full sports seasons. Football and baseball teams typically reorder each season. Bulk orders of 30 to 100 or more ship within 1 to 2 business days, so restocking before opening game is straightforward. Motorcycle and fire helmet decals last 1 to 3 years under normal road and scene exposure.
