4 Mil PVC Calendar Film With Permanent Adhesive

4 mil white PVC calendar film forms the base of every decal we print. It's a thin, flexible vinyl rated for outdoor use, and it conforms to flat RV panels without lifting or bubbling at highway speeds. The permanent adhesive bonds to painted metal, fiberglass, and plastic RV surfaces. Outdoor durability runs 3 to 5 years.

UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Crisp, Lasting Color

UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light. That process locks in a waterproof, scratch-resistant surface at 720 DPI minimum (dots per inch, the measure of print sharpness). Not cosmetic. It's what keeps bold color from fading or peeling after seasons of direct sun on an RV exterior. A2Z Printing Hub runs every decal through UV output, so what you approve on the proof is what arrives on your panel. Sharp lines. Vivid fills. No softening after 12 months outdoors.

Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 In Wide

Die-cutting trims the vinyl to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle. A logo, name, or graphic sits flush against the RV panel with no visible border around it. Designs up to 58.5 in wide ship as a single panel with no seam. Anything wider ships in multiple panels with alignment markings included. Clean edges. No leftover film showing around the art.

Ideal for

RV owners adding a name or lifestyle graphic to the side panel. Widths typically run 24 in to 58.5 in for a personalized look on the road.
Small business owners turning roughly 200 to 300 sq in of blank motorhome rear surface into a moving contact card with logo and phone number.
Fleet managers branding 5 to 20 company motorhomes with a consistent logo and phone number on each rear panel.
Campground operators marking rental units with unit numbers and park logos on the side panel for easy guest identification.
Mobile service businesses adding a website and phone number to the motorhome rear so every parking spot becomes a lead source.
RV enthusiasts logging routes and adventures through state silhouettes or maps on the side panel across multiple seasons.
Families adding name lettering or a custom graphic to the rear, sized to fit without overlapping windows or vents.

Not the best fit for

Full motorhome wraps covering the entire exterior from nose to tail fall outside what decals do. We cut for specific panels and areas. For full-coverage work, a local wrap installer is the right call.

Temporary signage that comes on and off daily needs a different solution. Magnetic Signs pull off cleanly without adhesive and reapply in seconds, making them the better fit when the motorhome switches between personal and business use.

Rear window graphics where the driver needs sightlines through the decal belong on Perforated Window Decals (70 percent print area, 30 percent open holes) instead.

How to choose

Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Rv Decals configuration.

  1. Placement on the RV Determines Your Size Starting Point

Side panels and rear surfaces have different size constraints. Most Class A motorhome side panels run 36 in to 58.5 in wide and 12 in to 24 in tall between the wheel well and body trim lines. Start with those dimensions in the configurator, then adjust to fit your specific panel. Rear panels are shorter horizontally but sit at eye level for drivers behind you, which changes what the design needs to do.

  2. Business Branding Versus Personal Graphics Changes Your Design Approach

Here's the thing: where you put the decal matters as much as what's on it. Business branding works best on the rear panel at 18 in to 36 in wide so it reads clearly at a 30 ft following distance in traffic. Personal lifestyle graphics and name lettering fit the side panel, where the full 58.5 in width gives you room for detail. A logo needs fewer words and heavier contrast. A route map or adventure graphic can spread wide and reward a closer look.

  3. Single Panel Versus Multi-Panel Affects Shipping and Application

Any design wider than 58.5 in ships in two or more panels. Plan your design so the seam falls on a low-detail area, like a solid color background, rather than across a face or logo. We include alignment markings on every multi-panel order so you can match the seam by eye without guessing. And if you're applying solo, a single-panel decal under 36 in wide is the easier starting point.

  4. Applying a Multi-Panel Decal

Start from the center of the RV surface and work outward. Align the first panel, then butt the second panel against the guide markings. Two people make this faster, but one person can do it with patience.

  5. Permanent Decal Versus Removable Option Depends on Role Switching

Not every motorhome stays in one role. If your RV doubles as a personal vehicle on weekends and a business vehicle on weekdays, Magnetic Signs are the better fit. They pull off and reapply without adhesive and leave no residue. Go with permanent 4 mil PVC decals only when the branding stays on full time. The adhesive is rated for 3 to 5 years of outdoor hold and is not meant for repeated removal.

Pair it with

Swap Between Personal and Business Use

Permanent decals stay on full time. But if your motorhome doubles as a personal vehicle on weekends, Magnetic Signs pull off cleanly in seconds and reapply just as fast with zero adhesive residue.

Same Material, Matching Fleet

Custom Trailer Decals and Custom Camper Van Decals use the same 4 mil PVC calendar film and permanent adhesive. A tow vehicle, trailer, and motorhome all carry consistent branding without a visible material difference between them.

Cover the Rear Window Without Blocking the View

Perforated Window Decals run 70 percent print area and 30 percent open holes. Your logo goes on the rear glass while the driver's sightline stays open. Right call when the rear window is the only available surface.

Tie the Vehicle to a Fixed Location

For a mobile business, Custom Vehicle Door Decals finish the door panels. Custom Signs at your storefront and Window Clings on your front glass then connect the ground presence to the road presence.

FAQs

Will the Permanent Adhesive Damage My RV's Gel Coat or Painted Fiberglass When I Remove It?

This is the question we hear most often, and the short answer is no, not on factory finishes. The 4 mil PVC calendar film uses a permanent adhesive that bonds firmly to painted metal, fiberglass, and plastic. It releases cleanly when you apply a heat gun on low and peel slowly from one corner. Any residue left on the panel wipes off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. Do not attempt removal on fresh paint under 30 days old, because new paint has not fully cured and may react differently.

How Long Will Custom RV Decals Hold Up Through Highway Driving, Rain, and Direct Sun?

UV-printed 4 mil PVC is outdoor rated for 3 to 5 years under direct sun, rain, and road debris. The ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light, which locks it into a scratch-resistant, waterproof surface that does not wash off in rain or an RV wash. Indoor storage between trips extends that life further. Colors stay bold and crisp through normal seasonal exposure without fading or peeling.

Can I Apply a Large RV Side Panel Decal Myself, or Do I Need a Professional Installer?

Decals under 36 in wide are straightforward for a solo application. Larger panels, especially anything approaching 58.5 in wide, go faster and align better with two people. Multi-panel orders include alignment guide markings so you can match seams without a professional. But for very large side-panel graphics spanning most of the motorhome length, a local installer will save you time and reduce the chance of misalignment.

Will the Colors on My Custom RV Decals Fade After a Season of Outdoor Exposure?

No. UV printing cures the ink at 720 DPI minimum, creating a surface that resists fading for 3 to 5 years under typical outdoor conditions. This is the weather resistance benefit you're paying for with UV-printed PVC versus standard inkjet output. Avoid waxing directly over the decal face, because solvent-based wax products break down the printed surface faster than sun exposure does.

What Happens If My Design Is Wider Than 58.5 In?

Designs wider than 58.5 in ship in two or more panels with alignment guide markings included in the shipment. Plan the seam to fall on a low-detail area, like a solid color field, rather than across a logo or face. We flag any seam placement issues during the proof review so you can adjust before production starts.

Get your artwork right

We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (Adobe Illustrator) is the best choice for logos because vector artwork scales to any size without losing edge sharpness.

We accept PDF PNG JPG AI
Resolution
minimum 150 DPI, recommended 300 DPI for any dimension under 4 ft. At that distance, viewers get close enough to catch a soft edge on a face or fine lettering.
Bleed
0.25 in on all sides. Bleed is the extra artwork area beyond the cut line that prevents thin white slivers if the cut shifts slightly during production.
Safe zone
keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so nothing important gets trimmed.
Color mode
CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the 4-color printing process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) that our UV press uses. RGB is a screen color model. Sending RGB files shifts colors at output, sometimes noticeably on reds and purples.

For die-cut shapes, upload artwork on a transparent background. We cut around the exact design edges, so a solid white or colored background behind your logo becomes part of the finished shape.

Need help building the file? Our free online design tool works in-browser with no software install. A professional design service is also available at checkout for custom artwork. Submit your artwork on a transparent background for die-cut decals and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions

Product care

  • Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before washing the RV. The adhesive needs that full window to bond firmly to painted metal, fiberglass, or plastic. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal area and keep high-pressure spray off the edges.
  • After 2 weeks, normal automatic RV wash use is fine. Clean the decal surface with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products, or wax directly on the decal face. These break down the UV-printed surface and shorten the rated 3 to 5 year outdoor life.
  • To remove the decal, use a heat gun on low and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue left on the panel cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. Factory paint and gel coat are not damaged when you follow those two steps.
