How to orderSpecifications
Custom Trailer Decals are die-cut vinyl graphics built for trailer side panels and rear doors. Every decal runs on 4 mil white PVC calendar film with UV-cured ink and permanent adhesive. Here's the thing: this combination gives you bold, lasting graphics that hold up to road conditions mile after mile without peeling or fading.
- Material
- 4 mil white PVC calendar film, matte finish.A thin but sturdy vinyl that conforms to flat and slightly curved trailer panels without cracking at the edges.
- Print Method
- UV printed, ink cured instantly by ultraviolet light during printing.Produces a scratch-resistant, waterproof surface that holds up to road wash, fuel splatter, and direct sun.
- Color Output
- Full-color CMYK at 720 DPI minimum.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) reproduces logos, photos, and gradients accurately across the full decal.
- Finishing
- Die-cut to custom shape. Kiss-cut (vinyl layer only cut, backing sheet left intact) on backing sheet.Lets the decal peel cleanly and apply without tearing the design.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes up to 58.5 in wide without a seam.Designs wider than 58.5 in ship in multiple panels with alignment markings for joining on the trailer surface.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Outdoor rated 3 to 5 years. Water resistant and scratch resistant.Holds up to direct sun, rain, road debris, and car wash cycles after the first 72-hour cure period.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided. Printed face on front, permanent adhesive on back. Not rated for see-through or double-sided viewing.
- Adhesive
- Permanent adhesive bonds to painted metal, plastic, and fiberglass trailer surfaces.Removable with a heat gun and slow peeling. Does not damage factory paint finishes on removal.

4 Mil PVC Calendar Film With Permanent Adhesive
4 mil white PVC calendar film bonds directly to trailer side panels and rear doors. It's a thin but sturdy vinyl sheet rated for outdoor use. The permanent adhesive grips painted metal, plastic, and fiberglass through highway speeds, road debris, and rain. Holds 3 to 5 years outdoors. A2Z Printing Hub cuts every decal from this same material whether you're branding one trailer or fifty.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Crisp, Lasting Color
UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light during the print run, locking color into a scratch-resistant, waterproof surface. At 720 DPI minimum, your logo and contact details stay crisp and bold through mud, direct sun, and repeated road wash cycles. But color quality is only half the story. That cured ink layer also resists fuel splatter and highway grime that would dull a standard inkjet print within a season.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 In Wide
Die-cut finishing cuts the vinyl to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle. That gives your trailer graphic a clean, borderless look against the panel surface. No visible box around your logo. No white edges catching the eye. Designs up to 58.5 in wide ship as one unjoined piece. Anything wider ships in multiple panels with alignment markings cut into the backing sheet for clean joining on the trailer.

Ideal for
Not the Best Fit For
Full trailer wraps covering the entire surface from nose to tail fall outside what we produce here. We print decals for specific panels and areas. A local wrap installer handles full-coverage jobs.
Temporary trailer signage that needs daily removal and reuse without leaving residue is a different job. Magnetic Signs attach and come off in seconds with no adhesive involved.
Trailer rear windows where the driver needs to see through the graphic need a different material entirely. Perforated Window Decals give one-way visibility and belong under our Window Decals category.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Trailer Decals configuration.
-
Measure the Panel Before You Pick a Size
Trailer side panels vary widely. A standard 16 ft cargo trailer typically runs 24 in tall along the lower rail area, and most logo placements sit between 18 in and 36 in tall. Measure the flat panel area first, note any rivets or seams to avoid, then enter a custom size. Die-cut to your logo outline gives the cleanest look on painted metal.
-
Fleet Orders Need a Single Production Batch
Here's the thing: color output shifts slightly between print runs. If you order 6 trailers now and 6 trailers in three months, the second batch may not match the first. Order all units together. Fleet orders of 10 or more qualify for volume pricing. Door placements at roughly 18 in by 24 in are the most common fleet choice for phone number and logo.
-
Panels Wider Than 58.5 In Ship as Multiple Pieces
Our maximum single-piece width is 58.5 in without a seam. Anything wider ships as two or more panels with alignment markings cut into the backing sheet. Plan your design so the seam lands in a low-detail zone, like a solid color field or open background. Do not run fine text across a seam line.
-
Where to Place the Seam
A horizontal seam at roughly mid-panel is easier to hide than a vertical one. Keep logos and phone numbers on a single panel, not split across two.
-
Permanent Adhesive Versus a Removable Option
Permanent adhesive is the right call for any trailer that stays branded year-round. The 4 mil PVC bonds to painted metal, plastic, and fiberglass and holds outdoors 3 to 5 years. But if your trailer doubles as a personal hauler on weekends and you want to swap branding on and off, order Magnetic Signs instead. They attach and remove in seconds without leaving adhesive on the panel.
Pair it with
The Removable Alternative
Some trailers do double duty: business hauling during the week, personal use on weekends. Magnetic Signs attach to the trailer door or side panel in seconds and come off just as fast, with no adhesive and no residue left behind.
Brand the Tow Vehicle to Match
A trailer decal does the work behind the cab. Custom Vehicle Door Decals and Custom Bumper Decals carry the same logo and contact info on the tow truck or van. The full rig reads as one consistent unit from every angle on the road.
Fixed-Location Signage That Matches the Road Branding
Your trailer carries the brand on every route. Custom Signs and A-Frame Signs bring that same logo and contact info to your shop, job site, or storefront. The message stays consistent whether someone sees your rig on the highway or walks up to your front door.
Extend the Brand to Job Sites and Events
Park the trailer and the crew gets to work. Custom Flags and Custom Banners carry the brand identity at eye level for anyone passing the job site or market booth. Bold, visible, and easy to set up.
FAQs
Will the Decal Stay on at Highway Speeds and Through Trailer Washes?
The permanent adhesive on 4 mil PVC calendar film bonds firmly to painted metal, plastic, and fiberglass surfaces. After the first 72-hour cure period, the decal holds through highway speeds, rain, road debris, and standard trailer wash cycles. Avoid directing high-pressure spray at the decal edges for the first 2 weeks, and you will not see lifting.
Can I Remove the Decal Later Without Damaging the Trailer Panel?
Yes. Apply low heat from a heat gun and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue left on the panel cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone. This does not damage factory paint finishes. That said, aftermarket paint or a fresh repaint under 30 days old may react differently, so wait at least a month after repainting before applying.
How Long Will the Colors Last Before Fading in Direct Sun?
UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, which makes the surface scratch-resistant and waterproof. Colors typically hold bold for 3 to 5 years outdoors under normal sun, rain, and road conditions. Indoor or shaded storage between uses extends that range further.
Do I Need a Designer, or Can I Upload My Own Logo File?
You can upload your own file in PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI format. We send a free digital proof showing your exact cut shape, size, and color output before we print anything. If your file needs cleanup, our design service handles it. For die-cut shapes, upload your artwork on a transparent background so we cut around the design outline exactly.
What Happens If My Trailer Panel Is Wider Than 58.5 In?
Designs wider than 58.5 in ship as two or more panels. We cut alignment guide markings into the backing sheet so you can join the panels accurately on the trailer surface. Plan your layout so any seam falls in a low-detail area like a solid color background. And keep logos and phone numbers on a single panel rather than split across two.
Get your artwork right
File format matters most for die-cut decals. We accept PDF, AI, PNG, and JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF) are the right call for logos because they scale to any trailer size without losing a crisp edge.
For die-cut trailer decals, upload your artwork on a transparent background so we cut exactly around your design outline. No visible border. No guessing.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum, 300 DPI recommended at final print size. Anything softer than 150 DPI shows at close range on a flat panel.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. This gives the cutter a clean margin so the finished edge doesn't clip into your artwork.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge. Road vibration and panel curves mean tight margins risk getting lost.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the 4-color process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) that our UV printer reads directly. RGB files shift color on output and won't match what you see on screen.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before washing the trailer. The permanent adhesive needs that full window to bond firmly to the panel surface. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal area and do not direct high-pressure spray at the edges.
- After 2 weeks, normal trailer wash cycles are fine. Clean the decal face with mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvent-based degreasers, and wax applied directly on the vinyl surface, as these break down the UV-printed ink layer over time.
- To remove the decal, apply low heat from a heat gun and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue left on the panel cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone without damaging factory paint finishes.
