How to orderSpecifications
Custom Spinning Dart Banner Flags print on 110 GSM knitted polyester using dye sublimation, giving you bold, fade-resistant color on a fabric that breathes in wind. They stand 6 to 18 ft tall and rotate 360 degrees on the pole axis. That makes them the right call for corner lots, roundabouts, and any location where traffic approaches from multiple directions.
- Material
- 110 GSM knitted polyester fabric.Lightweight and breathable, it lets wind pass through so the flag spins smoothly rather than straining the pole.
- Print Method
- Dye sublimation full-color printing.Ink bonds into the fibers directly, so color will not crack, peel, or wash out through repeated outdoor exposure.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) reproduces your logo across the full color spectrum in a single print run.
- Shape and Motion
- Spinning dart silhouette, 360-degree rotation on the pole axis. The dart cut catches wind from any direction and turns the flag automatically toward oncoming traffic.
- Size Range
- 6 to 18 ft total height (flag plus pole combined).Taller heights give roadside visibility above parked vehicles. Width varies by silhouette at each height.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for both indoor and outdoor use.Outdoor lifespan is roughly 3 to 6 months with daily sun, wind, and light rain. Indoor use extends fabric life significantly.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided is standard. Your design shows through as a mirror image on the reverse at roughly 80 percent visibility. Double-sided uses two printed layers with a blockout layer (a white barrier between sides) so both sides read cleanly and independently.
- Base Options
- Steel ground spike for grass and soil. Steel cross base for concrete, asphalt, and indoor floors. Cross base pairs with a fillable water bag (15 to 20 lbs when full) for hard-surface stability.

360-Degree Spin That Faces Every Direction of Traffic
The dart silhouette rotates freely on the pole axis when wind hits it. Most fixed flags face one direction and miss half your traffic. This one turns to meet every lane automatically, so your logo stays in front of drivers approaching from the left, the right, or straight on. No manual repositioning. No dead angles. Just continuous exposure from every direction your customers come from.
Dye Sublimation on 110 GSM Knitted Polyester
Dye sublimation runs on 110 GSM knitted polyester at A2Z Printing Hub. Ink absorbs directly into the fabric fibers rather than sitting on top. Knitted polyester is a lightweight, breathable fabric that lets some wind pass through, which keeps the flag spinning smoothly instead of straining against gusts. Because the ink bonds into the fibers, color stays bold and does not crack, peel, or wash out through rain and direct sun for roughly 3 to 6 months outdoors. Sharp colors. No surface coating to chip off.
Steel Bases for Grass, Soil, and Hard Surfaces
Two steel bases cover every surface you'll set up on. A steel ground spike pushes into grass or soil in seconds. A steel cross base sits flat on concrete or asphalt, and pairs with a fillable water bag (15 to 20 lbs when full) for stability on hard surfaces. Both bases come as selectable options in the configurator, so the same flag kit works at a roadside lot one weekend and a paved event entrance the next.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Indoor venues with low ceilings are not a good match. Spinning dart flags stand 6 to 18 ft tall and need wind to activate the spin. Retractable Banner Stands work better for indoor floor displays.
Permanent outdoor signage is not what this flag is built for. Knitted polyester lasts roughly 3 to 6 months with daily outdoor exposure. Metal Signs handle permanent outdoor branding without periodic replacement.
Wearable or mobile promotion where someone carries the flag through a crowd is a different job entirely. Backpack Flags are built for that and do not need a ground base.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Spinning Dart Banner Flags configuration.
-
Height Matches Your Viewing Distance and Location Type
Roadside visibility above parked vehicles needs 14 to 18 ft total height. At that range, drivers spot the flag from roughly a full block away before they reach your entrance. For parking lot islands and event entrances where people are on foot, 10 to 12 ft keeps the flag readable without overwhelming the space. Pick your height in the configurator before uploading your design, because the dart silhouette proportions shift at each height.
-
Single-Sided Versus Double-Sided Print
Single-sided works for most roadside setups where traffic approaches from one primary direction. Your design prints on the front and shows through as a mirror image on the reverse at about 80 percent visibility.
But if your flag sits on a roundabout, parking lot island, or corner lot where people approach from two or more directions, order double-sided. Double-sided uses two printed layers with a blockout layer (a white barrier between the two sides) so both sides carry a clean, independent image. Add double-sided at checkout before submitting your proof.

Base Selection Depends on Your Surface
-
Grass, Soil, or Dirt Lots
Choose the steel ground spike. It pushes into soft ground in seconds and holds the pole steady in moderate wind.
-
Concrete, Asphalt, Pavers, or Indoor Floors
Choose the steel cross base with a water bag filled to 15 to 20 lbs. That weight keeps the flag stable on hard surfaces without drilling. Do not guess here: the wrong base on the wrong surface will not hold the flag steady when wind hits.
-
Spinning Dart Versus a Fixed Flag Shape
Traffic approaching from two or more directions is the main reason to choose the spinning dart. You cannot manually reposition the flag during the day, and a fixed feather or teardrop flag faces one direction and relies on flutter for motion. The dart rotates to face each direction automatically. That said, if your location has a single traffic lane, a feather or teardrop flag gives you more printable area at the same height.
Pair it with
Anchor the Flag with a Branded Outdoor Setup
A spinning dart flag draws eyes from the road. These products give buyers somewhere to land once the flag pulls them in. Custom Canopy Tents shelter the space directly behind the flag. Table Covers finish the branded surface underneath the canopy.
Alternative Flag Shapes for Single-Direction Locations
The spinning dart is the right call when traffic comes from multiple directions. But if your location has one primary traffic lane, a fixed shape gives you more printable area at the same height.
Larger Messaging Alongside the Flag
A spinning dart flag at 14 to 18 ft grabs attention from the road. A wide-format banner hung across your fence or facade gives drivers something to read once you've caught their eye.
Products for Situations This Flag Cannot Serve
Knitted polyester at 110 GSM is not built for permanent outdoor installation or low-ceiling indoor venues. These categories cover those gaps cleanly.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Worth knowing: the flag spins, so keep text large and layouts simple. Fine print does not read from a moving vehicle at any resolution.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI or PDF) work best for logos because they scale to any flag height without losing edge clarity.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum at final print size. Go to 300 DPI for any flag under 10 ft, because viewers standing within 5 to 8 ft will catch a soft edge that looks fine on screen.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Bleed is the extra artwork that extends past the cut line so no white edges appear after trimming.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the dart silhouette edge. The dart shape tapers at the tip, so anything close to that edge risks getting cut off.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) is the four-color process we print with, so colors you see on screen match what comes off the press. RGB files shift in ways that can make your brand colors print warmer or cooler than expected.

Shipping and delivery
How to Order
- 1. Choose your flag height (6 to 18 ft), base type (ground spike or cross base), and sided option in the configurator. The tool shows which base works with each height so there's no guessing. 2. Upload your design in PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI format. Keep text large and layouts simple: the dart spins, and fine details will not read clearly from a moving vehicle. 3. Approve your free digital proof showing your design on the dart silhouette. If anything looks off, we adjust at no charge. Production starts within 1 to 2 business days after approval.
- Hardware ships with the flag in the same order.
Production and Shipping Timeline
Production runs 2 to 4 business days after proof approval. Flag kits ship in long narrow boxes, typically 4 to 6 ft, because pole sections set the box length. Replacement flag prints without hardware ship in smaller packages.
Orders of 5 or more flags qualify for volume pricing. And orders of 10 or more trigger automatic volume discounts per unit.
Order before 12 PM EST and your flags go into production the same day. Most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days.

Care instructions
Flag Graphic
- Hand wash the knitted polyester fabric with mild soap and cold water. Air dry completely before folding. Do not machine wash: agitation pulls at the knitted edges and shortens fabric life faster than outdoor exposure alone.
- Store the flag loosely folded in the included carry bag between uses. Avoid compressing it tightly when the fabric is still damp.
Pole, Spike, and Cross Base
- Wipe pole sections with a dry cloth after outdoor use, and check the threaded connectors for sand or debris that loosens joints over time. Rinse the steel ground spike after use in soil to slow surface rust, then pull it out and store it dry rather than leaving it in wet ground.
- Drain the water bag completely before transporting the cross base. A full bag (15 to 20 lbs) can split a seam if it shifts in transit. Store the bag dry to prevent mildew between events.
