How to orderSpecifications
Custom Rectangle Flags print on 110 GSM knitted polyester using full-color dye sublimation. The straight-sided shape gives you the most uniform printable area of any advertising flag, so text-heavy and multi-element designs fit without compromise. Sizes run from 6 to 18 ft total height.
- Material
- 110 GSM knitted polyester fabric.Knitted polyester is lightweight and breathable, letting some wind pass through to reduce pole stress in gusts.
- Print Method
- Dye sublimation, full color.Ink bonds into the fibers directly, so color resists peeling and flaking through repeated outdoor exposure.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color.Any color in your logo prints accurately across the full flag panel without banding or shifting.
- Finishing
- Pole sleeve along the top or side edge. Edges are finished to resist fraying during outdoor flutter.
- Size Range
- 6 to 18 ft total height (flag plus pole combined). Flag width varies by height option selected.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for both. Outdoor lifespan is roughly 3 to 6 months with daily sun, wind, and light rain exposure.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided is standard. Your design shows through as a mirror image on the reverse at roughly 80 percent opacity. Double-sided adds two printed layers with a blockout layer (a white barrier between the fabric sides) so both faces read correctly and independently.
- Weight
- 110 GSM. GSM stands for grams per square meter. At 110 GSM, the fabric is light enough to flutter in a breeze while holding printed color well.

Maximum Print Area on a Straight-Sided Shape
Rectangle flags run a uniform printable panel from top to bottom. No taper. No curve cutting into your layout. Logos, contact details, and multi-line text all fit across the full panel width without the compression you get on feather or teardrop shapes. That's the core reason buyers with message-heavy designs pick this shape over anything else.
Dye Sublimation Color That Holds Outdoors
Dye sublimation printing (a process that bonds ink directly into the fabric fibers rather than sitting on top) runs on 110 GSM knitted polyester. Color stays sharp through 3 to 6 months of daily outdoor exposure without peeling or cracking. At A2Z Printing Hub, every rectangle flag goes through this same bonding process, so fading shows up gradually from UV wear, not from surface ink lifting after a few rainstorms. Bold graphics. Crisp edges.
Steel Bases for Grass and Hard Surfaces
Both bases are steel. The ground spike pushes into grass or soil and holds the pole without wobbling in moderate wind. The cross base (an X-shaped steel frame roughly 24 in across) sits flat on concrete or asphalt. It pairs with a water bag (a fillable weight bag that holds 15 to 20 lbs) for added stability. And because both options use the same pole connection, you can swap bases between setups without buying a second kit.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Indoor venues with ceilings under 10 ft cannot safely fit a flag standing 6 to 18 ft tall. Retractable Banner Stands handle indoor floor displays cleanly.
Flag fabric lasts roughly 3 to 6 months with daily outdoor exposure. For signage that stays up year-round for multiple years, Metal Signs are the right call.
But if your promotion needs a walking promoter carrying the flag through a crowd, Backpack Flags are built for exactly that use case.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Rectangle Flags configuration.
-
Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided Comes Down to Traffic Direction
Single-sided works for most setups where foot or vehicle traffic approaches from one direction. Your design prints on the front face, and a mirror image shows through the back at roughly 80 percent opacity. That mirror image is not clean enough when people pass both faces of the flag, like a parking lot entrance with two-way traffic.
Go double-sided and add the blockout layer (a white barrier between the two printed fabric sides) at checkout so both faces read correctly and independently.
-
Your Surface Type Determines the Base
Choose the ground spike if you're setting up in grass, soil, or a dirt lot. For concrete, asphalt, or any hard indoor floor, the steel cross base is the right call. Pair it with a water bag (a fillable weight bag that attaches to the base and holds 15 to 20 lbs) so the flag stays anchored without drilling. Select your base type in the configurator before adding to cart.
-
Flag Height Depends on Viewing Distance
-
Sidewalk and Entrance Locations
Heights of 6 to 10 ft clear pedestrian traffic. Good fit for restaurant entrances, retail doors, and farmers market stalls where people are already close.
-
Parking Lots and Storefronts
Go 10 to 14 ft when vehicle traffic passes nearby. That range puts the flag above most car rooflines so drivers catch it from the road.
-
Highway-Adjacent and Large Outdoor Events
For maximum distance visibility, 14 to 18 ft is what you need. The taller the flag, the farther it reads from moving vehicles.
-
Rectangle Shape Fits Message-Heavy Designs Best
Rectangle is the right shape when your design includes multiple lines of text, a horizontal logo, or contact details that need a consistent top-to-bottom panel. Feather and teardrop shapes taper or curve, which cuts into usable space. If your brand mark is a single icon that reads well on a curved surface, preview both shapes in the configurator first. Upload your logo and compare before deciding.
Pair it with
Sidewalk-Level Pairing
Rectangle flags draw eyes from the road. An A-Frame Sign at ground level catches the same buyer again as they walk through the entrance, giving your message a second hit at close range.
Larger Messaging Alongside Flags
Flags mark the perimeter and pull attention from a distance. Custom Banners hung across a storefront or entrance carry the full campaign detail that a flag panel can't always hold.
Complete Outdoor Event Setup
Rectangle flags mark your booth from across the venue. Custom Canopy Tents and Table Covers finish the look so every piece of your setup carries the same branding.
Other Flag Shapes to Compare
Same 110 GSM knitted polyester, same dye sublimation print, different silhouettes. Worth previewing if you want more shape personality alongside or instead of the rectangle.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Rectangle flags give you a uniform panel from top to bottom, so every inch of that surface needs a clean, sharp file behind it.
- Accepted Formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI. Vector files (AI or PDF) are best for logos because they scale without losing edge clarity.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI is the floor. We push for 300 DPI on anything under 4 ft wide, because that's where buyers get close enough to spot a soft edge.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Bleed is the extra artwork extending past the cut line so no white edges appear after trimming.
- Safe Zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from every edge. Anything closer risks getting clipped during finishing.
- Color Mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK matches how dye sublimation printing lays down color, so what you see on screen comes out accurately on the flag fabric. RGB files can shift toward orange or cyan tones once printed.
But if you don't have a finished file, our free online design tool gives you a shape-specific template with safe zones already marked. A professional design service is also available at checkout.

Care instructions
Flag Fabric
- Hand wash the flag with mild soap and cold water. Do not machine wash. Machine washing damages the knitted polyester edges and shortens outdoor lifespan. Air dry the fabric completely before folding or storing to prevent mildew inside the pole sleeve.
Hardware and Bases
- Wipe pole sections with a dry cloth after outdoor use. Rinse the ground spike after use in soil and let it dry before storing to slow rust. Drain the water bag fully before transport, then let it sit open to dry. Check cross base bolt tightness before each setup so the flag stays anchored and level.
