How to orderSpecifications
Custom Giant Flags are the tallest format in the advertising flag line, built for maximum roadside visibility above vehicles and standard signage. Each flag prints on 110 GSM knitted polyester using dye sublimation, then mounts on a steel ground spike or steel cross base depending on your surface.
- Material
- 110 GSM knitted polyester fabric.Knitted polyester is an open-weave, breathable material that lets some wind pass through, reducing pole stress and extending fabric life.
- Print Method
- Dye sublimation.Ink converts to gas under heat and bonds into the polyester fibers, so color cannot crack, peel, or flake off.
- Color Output
- Full-color CMYK.CMYK uses cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to reproduce any logo color or photographic image across the full flag face.
- Finishing
- Flag sleeve along the pole edge.Pole sections thread through the sleeve for mounting. No grommets or ropes needed for standard ground-mount setup.
- Size Range
- 6 to 18 ft total height (flag plus pole combined).Height options cover sidewalk placement up to highway-visible roadside display above parked vehicles.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for both indoor and outdoor use.Outdoor lifespan is roughly 3 to 6 months with daily sun and wind exposure. Indoor use extends fabric life well beyond that range.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided is standard. Double-sided available.Single-sided shows your design through the reverse at about 80 percent opacity. Double-sided adds a blockout layer so both sides read independently.
- Weight
- 110 GSM.GSM measures fabric weight in grams per square meter. At 110 GSM, the knitted polyester is light enough to flutter in a gentle breeze while holding printed color without distortion.

Oversized Height for Roadside Visibility
Pole height is the single biggest factor in whether a flag gets seen or gets ignored. Giant flags reach 6 to 18 ft tall on a combined fiberglass and aluminum pole, putting your branding above rooflines and parked vehicles so drivers spot it before they reach your entrance. Fiberglass handles the top section (it flexes in wind without snapping), and aluminum keeps the base sections rigid where the pole meets the ground. That combination handles daily wind stress without transferring the load to the flag fabric. Tall and tough. That's the goal.
Dye Sublimation Color That Holds in Sun and Wind
Color accuracy gets full treatment here because it's what buyers see first from the road. Dye sublimation (a process where heat converts ink into a gas that bonds directly into the polyester fibers) locks full-color CMYK output into 110 GSM knitted polyester at the fiber level. Color does not sit on the surface, so it cannot crack or peel in wind or rain. Your logo stays bold through roughly 3 to 6 months of daily outdoor sun. A2Z Printing Hub runs this process on every flag order, no shortcuts on ink or heat settings.
Steel Base Hardware for Grass and Hard Surfaces
Your base choice depends entirely on your surface. Steel ground spikes push into grass or packed soil in seconds and hold the pole steady without any tools. For concrete or asphalt, the steel cross base sits flat on the hard surface and pairs with a fillable water bag (15 to 20 lbs when full) that weights the base against wind lift. Two surfaces covered. One order.
Customer reviews
If you want to get noticed, a giant flag is the way to go! It's a real showstopper and has definitely increased awareness of our business.
The material and print quality are excellent, especially for such a large flag. Our logo looks fantastic and is visible from a great distance.
Considering its size, the flag is surprisingly durable. It has held up well in moderate winds. We're very happy with the impact it makes.
This giant flag was perfect for our grand opening. It drew so much attention and created a real buzz. Easy to display.
The giant flag we ordered has massive impact! It's impossible to miss and really makes a statement at our events. The quality is impressive for the size.
Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Indoor venues with ceilings under 20 ft cannot accommodate a flag that stands 6 to 18 ft upright. Retractable Banner Stands are the better call for indoor floor displays.
Permanent outdoor branding that needs to stay up for years is not a job for flag fabric rated at 3 to 6 months of daily exposure. Metal Signs hold up far longer without replacement.
Ground mounting is not possible for every location. Backpack Flags let a walking promoter carry the flag across a crowd or parking lot without any base hardware.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Giant Flags configuration.
-
Flag Height Depends on Your Road Speed
Here's the thing: a 12 ft flag disappears behind a parked delivery truck on a 45 mph corridor. Drivers at that speed need your flag above the roofline before they reach your entrance, not at it. For roads running 35 mph or higher, go with 14 to 18 ft so the flag clears parked vehicles and reads clearly from a distance. Slower foot-traffic zones work fine at 10 to 14 ft.
Pick your height in the configurator and confirm the pole kit included at that size.
-
Base Type Follows Your Surface
Steel ground spikes push into grass, turf, or packed soil in under a minute and hold firm without extra weight. But on concrete, asphalt, or pavers, a spike has nothing to grip. Choose the steel cross base for any hard surface and fill the water bag to 15 to 20 lbs so the flag holds steady in wind.
Select your base type at checkout. The right hardware ships inside the flag kit automatically.
-
Single-Sided or Double-Sided Depends on Approach Direction
Single-sided works for most roadside locations where traffic comes from one direction. The design prints on the face and shows through as a mirror image on the reverse at roughly 80 percent opacity. That's fine when drivers approach from one side only.
Double-sided is worth the added cost at corner lots, roundabouts, or any spot where people arrive from opposite directions and a mirror image would confuse your logo or phone number. Check the proof to see how the mirror reads before you approve production. If it causes confusion, go double-sided.
Pair it with
Build the Full Outdoor Event Setup
Giant flags mark the entrance and pull eyes from the road. Bring the branding down to ground level and under the tent with these three products. Custom Canopy Tents, Table Covers, A-Frame Signs.
Add Flat Messaging That Holds Text
A moving flag catches attention at speed, but it can't carry more than a few words. Custom Banners hang on a fence or facade nearby and deliver the full message once a driver slows down and turns in.
Mix Flag Shapes for a Row or Perimeter
Different silhouettes at different heights make a dealership lot or event perimeter visually louder. Custom Feather Flags and Custom Swooper Flags work alongside giant flags where multiple shapes add variety without fighting each other.
Cover What Giant Flags Can't Do
Giant flags are not the right tool for every job. Retractable Banner Stands handle indoor low-ceiling displays where an 18 ft flag cannot stand upright. Custom Metal Signs handle permanent outdoor branding that flag fabric, rated for 3 to 6 months outdoors, is not built to replace.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Here's the thing: flags flutter, so bold text at large point sizes reads from the road. Fine details and small type get lost in motion.
- Accepted Formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI or PDF) are best for logos because they scale to any flag height without losing edge sharpness.
- Resolution
- Minimum 150 DPI at final print size. For any design element under 4 ft wide, 300 DPI keeps edges crisp when buyers walk close to the flag.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all edges. Art that stops at the trim line risks a thin white strip on the finished flag.
- Safe Zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the flag border. The sleeve edge along the pole side is not a printable area.
- Color Mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the 4-color process our presses use, so colors you see in your CMYK file match what prints on the 110 GSM knitted polyester. RGB files shift in conversion and can throw off logo colors.

Shipping and delivery
How to Order
- Choose your flag height and base type in the configurator. It shows which base options work with each height and confirms the hardware included in the kit.
- Upload your logo or design in PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI format. Keep text large and simple. Flags flutter, so fine details won't read clearly from the road.
- Approve your free digital proof showing your design on the giant flag shape. Production starts within 1 to 2 business days after approval, and hardware ships with the flag. If anything looks off, we adjust at no charge.
Production and Shipping Timeline
Production runs 2 to 4 business days after proof approval. Flag kits ship in long narrow boxes, typically 4 to 6 ft, with pole sections and base hardware included. Replacement flag prints ship separately in smaller packages. Bulk orders of 5 or more qualify for volume pricing.
Order before 12 PM EST and your flags go into production the same day. Most orders ship within 1 to 2 business days.

Care instructions
Product care
- Hand wash the flag fabric with mild soap and cold water. Air dry completely before folding or storing. Do not machine wash. Agitation damages the knitted edges and shortens fabric life.
- Fold the flag loosely when storing. Tight creases held for weeks weaken the fibers along the fold line. Disassemble pole sections and store everything in the included carry bag.
- Wipe pole sections with a dry cloth after outdoor use. Check threaded connectors for sand or debris that can strip the joints over time. Fiberglass poles flex in wind but snap if forced past their natural arc.
- Pull steel ground spikes after each use and rinse off mud before storing. Drain water bags fully before transport. Bags left damp will develop mildew inside the liner.
