How to orderSpecifications
Custom Angled Flags run on 110 GSM knitted polyester printed with dye sublimation, available from 6 to 18 ft tall. They suit roadside retail, dealership lots, and outdoor event entrances where a diagonal silhouette pulls attention fast. Here's what you're getting in every kit.
- Material
- 110 GSM knitted polyester fabric. The open-weave knit lets wind pass through, reducing pole stress in moderate outdoor gusts.
- Print Method
- Dye sublimation.Heat bonds ink into the polyester fibers so color does not crack, peel, or wash out.
- Color Output
- Full CMYK.Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combine to reproduce logos, gradients, and photographic images across the full angled face.
- Finishing
- Pole sleeve along the straight mounting edge. The sleeve slides over assembled pole sections and holds the flag taut along that edge while the angled free edge flutters.
- Size Range
- 6 to 18 ft total height (flag plus pole combined).Taller sizes give roadside visibility above parked vehicles. Shorter sizes suit sidewalk and trade show placement.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for both indoor and outdoor use.Outdoor lifespan is roughly 3 to 6 months with daily sun and wind exposure. Indoor use extends fabric life well beyond that range.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided standard. Double-sided with blockout layer available.Single-sided shows through as a mirror image on the reverse at roughly 80 percent opacity. The blockout layer (a white barrier between two printed faces) keeps both sides reading correctly.
- Weight
- 110 GSM fabric weight.Light enough to flutter in a mild breeze and easy to carry when the pole breaks into 3 to 4 sections for transport.

Diagonal Silhouette on 110 GSM Knitted Polyester
Knitted polyester at 110 GSM (a breathable, open-weave fabric) is the foundation every angled flag is built on. The open weave lets wind pass through the material rather than pushing flat against it, so the pole bends without snapping and the flag keeps flying in moderate gusts. That wind-pass behavior matters most for the angled shape, where the diagonal free edge catches air differently than a straight-top flag does. Lighter load on the pole. Longer hardware life.
Dye Sublimation Color That Locks Into the Fiber
Dye sublimation (a heat-transfer process that bonds ink directly into the polyester fibers) gives you full CMYK color that does not sit on the surface and peel. Color depth stays bold through 3 to 6 months of daily sun and rain because the ink is part of the fiber, not a coating on top of it. A2Z Printing Hub runs this process on every flag order, so the diagonal graphic reads sharp from the road on day one and on month four. Print quality is fully covered here. Weather resistance gets its full treatment in Specifications.
Steel Spike and Cross Base for Any Surface
Two steel bases ship with your flag kit, and each one solves a different surface problem. A steel ground spike pushes into grass or soil in seconds. A steel cross base sits flat on concrete or asphalt and pairs with a water bag (fillable to 15 to 20 lbs) for stability on hard ground. Move the same flag between a parking lot and a trade show floor without buying new hardware. Same pole. Different base. Done.
Customer reviews
Changing out the flag with new graphics is relatively easy, which is great for our changing promotions.
These angled flags give a professional and well-thought-out appearance to our business front. They look more intentional than just a straight flag.
The pole and base feel very sturdy, and the flag stays securely in place even with some wind. We're happy with the stability.
The angle seems to make our text easier to read as people drive by. They provide good visibility without being directly facing.
The angled design of these flags is really dynamic and eye-catching. It adds a unique flair to our outdoor display. Setup was simple.
Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Indoor venues with ceilings under 10 ft cannot accommodate a flag that stands 6 to 18 ft tall. Retractable Banner Stands are the right swap for low-ceiling floors.
Permanent outdoor signage that stays up for years is not a job for flag fabric, which lasts roughly 3 to 6 months with daily exposure. Metal Signs hold up indefinitely where flags cannot.
Mobile or wearable promotion is a different category entirely. Backpack Flags carry the same angled silhouette on a harness a walking promoter wears.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Angled Flags configuration.
-
Flag Height Matches Your Viewing Distance
Roadside placement above parked vehicles needs 14 to 18 ft of total height. At that range, the diagonal silhouette clears rooflines and catches drivers before they reach your lot entrance. Pick your height first, then set your base to match the surface. Sidewalk and trade show use is a different call: at 8 to 10 ft, the flag stays proportional to the space and readable to someone standing close.
-
Single-Sided Print Covers Most Situations
Here's the thing: single-sided works fine when traffic approaches from one direction. Your design prints on the face, and the reverse shows a mirror image at roughly 80 percent opacity. Go double-sided when the flag sits at a corner or intersection where people pass both faces. A blockout layer (a white barrier between two printed fabric panels) keeps each side crisp and independent. Double-sided costs more, but it's worth it when both sides carry your logo.
-
Your Surface Decides the Base
-
Grass or Soft Ground
Push a steel ground spike into soil in seconds. No tools, no hardware beyond the spike itself.
-
Concrete, Asphalt, or Indoor Floors
A steel cross base with a water bag (fillable to 15 to 20 lbs) sits flat without drilling. If you move the same flag between a grass lot and a concrete floor, order both bases. The pole fits either one.

Angled Shape Versus Other Flag Silhouettes
The angled cut gives you a sporty, diagonal profile that reads as active and fast-moving. That suits car dealerships, gyms, and sporting goods retailers well. If logo readability in wind matters more than silhouette personality, a Custom Teardrop Flag keeps fabric taut without wind. If maximum flutter and motion is the goal, a Custom Swooper Flag at 15 to 18 ft gives more movement than the angled cut delivers.
Pair it with
Ground-Level Pairing: A-Frame Signs
Angled flags pull eyes from the road at 14 to 18 ft. A-Frame Signs catch that same attention at door height and give you space for pricing, hours, or a specific offer the fluttering flag can't hold still long enough to deliver.
Flat Messaging Alongside Flags
A flag moves. A banner stays put. Custom Banners hung across a facade or fence give you room for detailed text and calls to action. For a complete outdoor booth, Custom Canopy Tents and Table Covers finish what the flags mark from a distance.
Other Flag Shapes for Comparison
Worth knowing: the angled silhouette is one of several shapes that use the same 110 GSM knitted polyester and dye sublimation print. Custom Feather Flags give a classic curved top. Custom Swooper Flags reach 15 to 18 ft for maximum roadside flutter. Custom Teardrop Flags keep fabric taut in wind, making logos sharper when motion is low.
Indoor Alternative
Ceilings under 10 ft rule out any flag in this range. Retractable Banner Stands are the right swap for lobbies, showrooms, and indoor event floors where a 6 to 18 ft pole simply cannot stand upright.
FAQs
Does the Diagonal Cut Shrink the Printable Area on the Flag Face?
Not by much. The angled top edge removes a triangle from the upper corner, but the main face of the flag stays wide enough for a bold logo and short text line. Keep your primary artwork centered on the widest section of the face. Avoid stacking fine print near the angled edge, where flutter blurs small details faster than anywhere else on the flag.
Can I Reuse the Pole and Base When the Flag Fabric Wears Out?
Yes, and that's exactly how most repeat buyers handle it. Flag graphics and hardware are sold separately, so when the fabric nears the end of its outdoor life, you order a replacement print and slide it onto the same pole. Steel bases and fiberglass pole sections typically outlast 2 or more flag prints before they need replacing.
Will the Flag Stay Upright on a Concrete Parking Lot Without Drilling?
A steel cross base with a water bag handles that. Fill the bag to around 15 lbs on a calm day, or closer to 20 lbs when it's gusty. The base sits flat on concrete or asphalt with no anchoring hardware needed. Because it's fillable on-site, you skip hauling dead weight to the location.
How Do I Know What My Angled Flag Will Look Like Before Production Starts?
Every order includes a free digital proof showing your artwork placed on the actual angled flag shape, diagonal edge and all. You approve that proof before we print anything. Production does not start until you confirm the layout looks right, so you catch placement issues before they reach fabric.
Is a Custom Angled Flag Stable Enough for an Overnight or Weekend Event?
The 110 GSM knitted polyester lets air pass through the weave rather than catching it flat, which reduces pole stress in moderate wind. For overnight or multi-day outdoor use, go with the steel ground spike in soft ground or a fully filled water bag on hard surfaces. In sustained gusts above roughly 25 mph, bring the flag in. Fabric and fiberglass poles are not rated for severe weather.
Get your artwork right
File formats we accept: PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI. Vector files (AI or PDF built from vectors) are the strongest choice for logos because they scale to any flag height without losing edge sharpness.
- Resolution
- minimum 150 DPI, recommended 300 DPI for any flag under 10 ft where viewers stand close enough to spot a soft edge.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. This keeps the print flush to the edge after trimming.
- Safe zone
- keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the angled cut edge. The diagonal top flutters most, so anything close to that edge risks folding out of view in a gust.
- Color mode
- submit files in CMYK, not RGB. Dye sublimation bonds ink directly into the polyester fiber, and CMYK is how we print. RGB files shift color at output, so reds can come out orange and blues can go dull. CMYK is what you see on the proof.

Care instructions
Product care
- Hand wash the flag fabric with mild soap and cold water. Air dry completely before folding or storing. Do not machine wash. Agitation frays the knitted polyester edges faster than outdoor wind does.
- Check the free diagonal edge (the flutter edge opposite the pole sleeve) after each outdoor run. Fraying there is the first sign the fabric is nearing the end of its 3 to 6 month outdoor life. Store the flag loosely folded in the included carry bag with disassembled pole sections.
- Wipe pole sections with a dry cloth after each use. Check threaded connector joints for tightness before every setup. Fiberglass top sections flex in wind but will snap if you force them past their natural arc.
- Pull the steel ground spike from soil after each event and rinse off dirt before storing. Drain the cross base water bag completely before transport. A damp bag left sealed between events develops mildew inside.
