Specifications

Custom Blade Flags print on 110 GSM knitted polyester using dye sublimation, producing bold, full-color graphics on a straight-edged silhouette. They suit roadside retail, automotive lot entrances, and outdoor event booths needing a sharp, modern flag presence.

Material
110 GSM knitted polyester fabric. The open-weave knit lets wind pass through, reducing pole stress and keeping the blade shape from collapsing in gusts.
Print Method
Dye sublimation.Ink bonds into the polyester fibers under heat, so color cannot crack or peel off the surface.
Color Output
CMYK full color. All four ink channels run on every order, so gradients, photos, and multi-color logos reproduce without color limits.
Finishing
Flag sleeve along the pole edge. The sleeve slides over assembled pole sections and holds the blade taut from top to bottom with no grommets needed.
Size Range
6 to 18 ft total height (flag plus pole combined).Width varies by the blade shape at each height. The configurator shows exact flag dimensions per height option.
Indoor/Outdoor Rating
Rated for both indoor and outdoor use.Outdoor lifespan is roughly 3 to 6 months with daily sun, wind, and light rain exposure.
Single/Double-Sided
Single-sided standard. Double-sided with blockout layer available.Single-sided shows a mirror image on the reverse at roughly 80 percent opacity. The blockout layer (an opaque barrier between two printed panels) makes both sides read correctly.
Weight
110 GSM.Light enough to flutter in moderate wind and easy to carry in the included bag with pole sections disassembled.

Blade Silhouette on 110 GSM Knitted Polyester

The blade shape runs on 110 GSM knitted polyester. That open-weave fabric lets some wind pass through the flag face rather than pushing against it as a solid sheet. Breathability keeps the straight edge taut, so your logo reads as a clean vertical column instead of bunching or rippling out of shape. A2Z Printing Hub cuts every blade flag to the same sharp, straight-edged silhouette, which suits automotive, tech, and retail brands wanting a modern roadside presence. Crisp geometry. Readable from the road.

Steel Ground Spike and Cross Base Mounting

Two steel bases ship with your kit, and each one covers a different surface. The ground spike pushes into grass or soil by hand in under 2 minutes, no tools needed. The cross base sits flat on concrete or asphalt and pairs with a fillable water bag (15 to 20 lbs when full) for stability without drilling. Both bases accept the same pole, so you can move one flag between a lawn entrance and a hard-surface event floor without buying separate hardware for each location.

Dye Sublimation Color That Holds Outdoors

Dye sublimation converts ink to a gas under heat and bonds it into the polyester fibers. Color lives inside the fabric rather than on top of it. There's no surface coating to crack, chip, or peel away in sun or light rain. Colors stay bold through roughly 3 to 6 months of continuous outdoor exposure, which is the main worry buyers have before committing to a flag order. And because the ink is part of the fiber, the print holds through repeated wind flutter without losing sharpness.

The construction of these flags feels high quality. The stitching is well done, and the pole is sturdy.

The height of these blade flags makes them easy to see even in crowded outdoor events. They help us stand out.

The material seems very durable and has held up well against the elements. We've had them out in rain and sun, and they still look great.

These blade flags are a good option for locations with limited space, as they don't extend out as far as some other styles.

Ideal for

Car dealership driveways where a row of blade flags lines the entrance with a straight, modern silhouette that reads as clean and current from the road.
Outdoor tech and software brand activations where the straight-edged blade shape matches a contemporary visual identity better than a curved flag.
Restaurant and fast-casual sidewalk placement at 8 to 10 ft, catching pedestrian eyes without blocking storefront windows.
Trade show booth corners in outdoor or semi-open venues, drawing aisle traffic from roughly 30 ft away.
Retail grand openings with 3 to 5 blade flags along the curb, guiding foot traffic from the parking lot to the door.
Real estate open house curb marking where a single blade flag at 8 ft signals the property from the street without tools or drilling.
Seasonal sales at garden centers and outdoor retailers where ground spike setup takes under 2 minutes and the kit packs into a carry bag for reuse.

Not the best fit for

Indoor venues with ceilings under 14 ft cannot safely fit blade flags that stand 6 to 18 ft tall. Retractable Banner Stands are the right call for indoor floor displays.

Knitted polyester fabric lasts roughly 3 to 6 months of daily outdoor exposure, so blade flags don't suit permanent signage needs. Metal Signs handle long-term outdoor branding without replacement cycles.

Mobile crowd promotion where a walking promoter carries the flag is not what this product is built for. Backpack Flags are designed specifically for that use case.

How to choose

Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Blade Flags configuration.

  1. Matching Your Mounting Base to the Installation Surface

The surface under your flag determines which base you need. Steel ground spikes push into grass, soil, or packed dirt by hand in under a minute. No tools needed. For concrete, asphalt, pavers, or indoor floors, the steel cross base sits flat and pairs with a water bag (fillable to 15 to 20 lbs) so the pole stays planted without drilling. Worth knowing: you do not need separate hardware for each location. One flag kit moves between a grassy entrance and a hard-surface expo floor by swapping the base. Match the base to your actual surface, then add it in the configurator.

  2. Selecting the Right Flag Height for Your Viewing Distance

Height is a visibility decision, not an aesthetic one. For sidewalk placement or entrance positions where people pass within 6 to 8 ft, an 8 to 10 ft blade flag puts your logo at eye level and just above. That range suits restaurants, salons, and real estate open house curb markers.

For parking lot rows or roadside locations where drivers need to spot the flag above parked vehicles, 12 to 16 ft is the practical range. At that height, the straight blade silhouette reads as a clean vertical column from roughly 40 to 50 ft away. Select your height in the configurator and the matching pole kit ships with the flag.

  3. Deciding Between Single-Sided and Double-Sided Printing

Single-sided works when your flag faces one clear primary direction. A flag angled toward oncoming traffic on one side of a driveway is a good single-sided candidate. Your design prints on the face and shows through at roughly 80 percent opacity on the reverse. That's fine when the back faces a wall or a lane without foot traffic.

  4. When Double-Sided Is Worth the Added Cost

Double-sided printing uses two fully printed panels with a blockout layer between them, so both sides read correctly with no mirror image. Choose double-sided when vehicles or pedestrians approach from both directions and a reversed logo would create confusion. Busy parking lot entrances and trade show aisle corners are the clearest cases for the upgrade. Select double-sided in the configurator before you upload artwork, since the two panels need to be set up as separate files.

Pair it with

Build a Complete Branded Zone at Outdoor Events

Blade flags mark the entrance and pull eyes from the road. But the zone between the flags and your table needs coverage too. A Custom Canopy Tent fills that middle space with a roof that anchors the branded area, and Table Covers finish the ground-level setup underneath.

Add a Sidewalk-Level Message Below the Flag

A blade flag at 10 to 16 ft covers road and lot visibility. Pedestrians walking within 5 ft still need a closer prompt. An A-Frame Sign sits at sidewalk height and catches that gap. Custom Banners add a wider flat surface for promotions with more copy than a flag face can hold.

Explore Other Flag Shapes for Your Lineup

The blade silhouette is clean and modern. But other shapes serve different personalities and conditions. Custom Feather Flags offer a curved, flowing look that works well for welcoming retail and restaurant setups. Custom Teardrop Flags keep the graphic taut in low-wind conditions where a blade might hang loose. Custom Swooper Flags add maximum height and motion for highway-adjacent roadside visibility.

Indoor Alternative When Ceilings Are Low

Blade flags at 6 to 18 ft need outdoor clearance and wind to stay extended. For indoor lobbies, conference halls, or trade show floors with low ceilings, Retractable Banner Stands handle floor displays without requiring height or airflow.

FAQs

Get your artwork right

Custom Blade Flags run full CMYK color on every order, so gradients, photography, and multi-color logos all reproduce without limits. But the file you send in determines how sharp the final print looks on the fabric.

We accept PDF PNG JPG AI
Accepted formats
PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI or PDF) work best for logos because they scale without losing edge sharpness.
Resolution
150 DPI minimum at final print size. For flags under 8 ft where viewers get within 5 to 8 ft, 300 DPI keeps edges crisp rather than soft.
Bleed
0.25 in on all edges. This covers any slight shift during finishing.
Safe zone
Keep logos and text 0.5 in from the sleeve edge and flag tip. The blade shape tapers toward the top, so place your primary logo within the widest section of the flag face for full readability.
Color mode
CMYK, not RGB. RGB files convert during processing and colors can shift. Sending CMYK means what you see on screen matches what bonds into the fabric.

Worth knowing: our free online design tool includes a blade-shape template with safe zones already marked. A professional design service is available at checkout if you need layout help. Submit your logo and our team sends you a free digital proof showing your branding on the flag shape within 24 hours.

Care instructions

Product care

  • Hand wash the flag fabric with mild soap and cold water. Air dry completely before folding or storing. Do not machine wash. Agitation damages the knitted edges and shortens the fabric lifespan faster than outdoor exposure does.
  • Check the flutter edge (the free vertical edge opposite the pole sleeve) after each outdoor use. Fraying there is the first sign the fabric is nearing replacement. Order a fresh flag print and reuse the existing pole and base hardware.
  • Wipe pole sections with a dry cloth after each use. Rinse the steel ground spike after use in soil to slow surface rust, and drain the water bag fully before transport to prevent mildew inside the bag.
  • Retract the flag in sustained winds above 25 mph. Fiberglass pole sections flex in moderate gusts but can snap if bent past their arc in severe weather. Store disassembled pole sections in the included carry bag between events.
