Specifications

Custom Leaf Banner Flags are tall, freestanding advertising flags cut in an organic leaf silhouette. Every flag prints on 110 GSM knitted polyester using dye sublimation, giving you bold, fade-resistant color that bonds directly into the fabric. These flags work best for garden centers, eco brands, and outdoor businesses that want a soft, natural shape that stands apart from standard feather and teardrop flags.

Material
110 GSM knitted polyester fabric.Breathable, open-weave construction lets wind pass through, reducing pole stress and keeping the flag fluttering steadily.
Print Method
Dye sublimation, full color.Ink converts to a gas and bonds into the polyester fibers so color does not crack, peel, or sit on the surface.
Color Output
CMYK full color.CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) reproduces your logo across the full color spectrum without color limits.
Finishing
Flag sleeve along the pole edge. The sleeve slides over assembled pole sections and holds the flag taut along the leading edge.
Size Range
6 to 18 ft total height (flag plus pole combined).Flag width varies by the leaf silhouette at each height. Taller options clear parked vehicles for roadside visibility.
Indoor/Outdoor Rating
Rated for both indoor and outdoor use.Outdoor lifespan is roughly 3 to 6 months with daily sun and wind exposure. Indoor use extends fabric life significantly.
Single/Double-Sided
Single-sided is standard. Double-sided with blockout layer available.Single-sided shows a mirror image on the reverse at roughly 80 percent opacity. Double-sided keeps both faces crisp and independent.
Weight
110 GSM.GSM (grams per square meter) measures fabric weight. At 110 GSM, this fabric is light enough to flutter in moderate wind without stressing the pole.

Organic Leaf Silhouette on 110 GSM Knitted Polyester

The leaf silhouette runs on 110 GSM knitted polyester (a breathable, open-weave fabric that lets some wind pass through the material). That open weave matters because it reduces pole stress and keeps the flag fluttering rather than snapping taut in a gust. Knitted polyester at this weight is light enough to catch a light breeze at 6 ft or hold its shape at 18 ft without overloading the pole. The result: a flag that moves naturally, the way a real leaf does, instead of whipping stiffly like a rectangular banner.

Soft silhouette. Constant motion. Bold color.

Dye Sublimation Color That Absorbs Into the Fabric

Every leaf flag goes through dye sublimation. That's a process where ink converts to a gas and bonds directly into the polyester fibers, not onto the surface. Color sits inside the fabric, so it does not crack, peel, or wash away. You get bold, fade-resistant output that holds up through roughly 3 to 6 months of daily outdoor exposure in sun, wind, and light rain. And because the ink bonds at the fiber level, the color reads just as crisp on day 90 as it does on day one.

Steel Spike and Cross Base for Any Surface

Two steel bases ship with every kit, covering grass and hard ground in one order. The steel ground spike handles soil, sand, and turf by pushing in by hand in about 60 seconds. The steel cross base (roughly 24 in spread) sits on concrete, asphalt, or pavers. It pairs with a fillable water bag (15 to 20 lbs when full) for anchor weight without drilling a single hole. Worth knowing: you choose your base type at checkout, so you're not paying for hardware you won't use.

Ideal for

Garden centers and plant nurseries where the leaf flag matches the product on the lot. At 9 to 13 ft, it pulls drivers off the road by shape alone.
Organic food vendors at farmers markets who want a rounded, natural silhouette that reads differently from every feather flag at the same stall row.
Eco-conscious retailers marking a storefront entrance with a shape that signals brand identity before a customer reads any text.
Outdoor event entrances at botanical gardens, nature festivals, and conservation fundraisers where the leaf shape fits the event theme directly.
Seasonal activations at fall harvest fairs, spring garden sales, and Earth Day pop-ups where the organic silhouette reinforces the campaign message.
Restaurant patios and farm-to-table dining spots marking outdoor seating with a flag that communicates fresh and natural from the curb.
Brand activations at trail races and outdoor sporting events where a row of leaf flags at 11 to 13 ft marks a sponsor zone. That shape stands apart from every blade and teardrop flag on the field.
Real estate agents flagging open houses at landscaped properties where the leaf flag reads as intentional rather than a generic roadside marker.

Not the best fit for

Indoor venues with ceilings under 9 ft cannot safely accommodate a flag standing 6 to 18 ft tall. Retractable Banner Stands are the right choice for any indoor floor display.

Signage that needs to stay up for multiple years without replacement is better served by Metal Signs. They hold up indefinitely outdoors where flag fabric lasts only 3 to 6 months with daily exposure.

Mobile or wearable brand promotion is a different situation entirely. Backpack Flags let a walking promoter carry the flag through a crowd without any ground mount.

How to choose

Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Leaf Banner Flags configuration.

  1. Matching Flag Height to Your Location

Sidewalk and entrance placements work best at 6 to 9 ft, where the flag sits at eye level and fits tight spaces without crowding your doorway. For parking lot edges or roadside spots where parked vehicles block sightlines, go with 11 to 14 ft so the leaf silhouette clears rooflines. Open fields, nature festivals, and large outdoor events call for 16 to 18 ft. Pick your height first, then move to your base.

  2. Choosing the Right Base for Your Surface

The short answer: soft ground gets the spike, hard ground gets the cross base. A steel ground spike pushes into grass or soil by hand in roughly 60 seconds with no tools. For concrete, asphalt, pavers, or indoor floors, use the steel cross base (about 24 in spread) paired with a fillable water bag. That bag runs 15 to 20 lbs when full, enough to hold the flag steady in moderate wind without drilling. Select your base type in the configurator before adding to cart.

  3. Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided

Single-sided covers most setups. Your design prints on the front face and bleeds through to the reverse at roughly 80 percent opacity, which reads fine when foot traffic moves in one direction. If your flag sits at a corner, a market intersection, or an open field where people approach from multiple directions, choose double-sided. The blockout layer (a white interlining between two printed faces) keeps both sides fully crisp and independent. Add double-sided at checkout before uploading your file.

  4. Deciding Whether the Leaf Shape Fits Your Brand

Here's the thing: the leaf silhouette does real work before anyone reads your logo. Garden centers, wellness brands, eco retailers, and nature-themed events get the most out of this shape because the organic outline signals brand personality from the road. If your business is corporate, automotive, or tech-focused, a blade or teardrop flag will likely serve you better. Check the shape comparison page if you're choosing between two silhouettes.

Pair it with

Cover the Ground Under Your Flags

Leaf flags pull eyes from the road, but the space beneath them needs to work just as hard. A Custom Canopy Tent gives you a covered structure to anchor between two flags at a farmers market or outdoor event. Drop a Table Cover on the table inside and every surface carries your brand. - Custom Canopy Tents - Table Covers

Add Curb-Level Messaging Below the Flag

Flags read well from a distance. An A-Frame Sign closes the gap between the curb and your door with a message that stops customers at ground level. - A-Frame Signs - Custom Banners

Compare Flag Silhouettes Before You Commit

The leaf shape suits organic and nature-facing brands. But if your brand identity skews more traditional or corporate, a different silhouette may fit better. Custom Feather Flags flutter gracefully and suit almost any industry. Custom Teardrop Flags hold the logo taut and readable even in low wind. - Custom Feather Flags - Custom Teardrop Flags

When the Venue Calls for Something Permanent

Flag fabric lasts roughly 3 to 6 months outdoors with daily exposure. For signage that needs to hold up for years without replacement, Custom Metal Signs handle direct sun and weather indefinitely. - Custom Metal Signs - Retractable Banner Stands

FAQs

Does the Leaf Shape Leave Enough Room for My Logo to Read Clearly?

The leaf silhouette is wider through the midsection than a feather or blade flag at the same height. Your logo actually gets more usable horizontal space in the center zone. Keep text large and limit copy to one to two lines. Logos with simple shapes and bold lettering read cleanly at 9 to 11 ft from the curb even when the flag moves in wind.

How Long Will My Flag Last With Daily Outdoor Use?

Daily outdoor exposure runs the fabric roughly 3 to 6 months before UV fading and edge fraying become visible. Moderate climates with occasional shade or weekend-only use can stretch that lifespan. When the fabric shows wear, order a replacement print without buying new poles or bases, since hardware typically outlasts several flag prints.

Can I Order a Replacement Print Without Buying New Hardware?

Yes. Flag graphics and hardware are sold separately, so you can reorder just the printed flag when the fabric wears out. The steel spike, cross base, and pole sections are reusable across multiple print cycles. This keeps your long-term cost lower than buying full kits each time.

What Happens to the Flag in Heavy Wind or a Storm?

The 110 GSM knitted polyester is an open-weave fabric, so moderate wind passes through the material rather than pushing against a solid surface. That reduces stress on the pole significantly. And in sustained winds above 25 mph, take the flag down and store it. Fiberglass pole tips flex in wind but can snap if forced past their natural arc under extreme gusts.

Do I See a Proof Before Production Starts?

Every order includes a free digital proof showing your artwork on the leaf silhouette before anything prints. Nothing goes into production until you approve it. Production starts within 1 to 2 business days after your approval, and poles and bases ship with the flag in the same kit.

Get your artwork right

The leaf silhouette narrows toward the top and bottom, so your usable print area shifts with the flag shape. Place your logo in the widest center section and keep text large enough to read from at least 20 ft away. Flags flutter in wind, and fine print becomes unreadable in motion.

We accept PDF PNG JPG AI
Accepted File Formats
PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI, PDF) are preferred for logos because they scale without losing edge sharpness.
Resolution
150 DPI minimum at final print size. We recommend 300 DPI for any flag under 8 ft where viewers get close enough to spot a soft edge.
Bleed
0.25 in on all edges. Any artwork that runs to the trim line needs bleed to avoid a white border after cutting.
Safe Zone
Keep logos and text at least 0.5 in inside the trim line so nothing gets clipped at the edge.
Color Mode
CMYK. RGB is a screen color model and does not match how dye sublimation prints. Convert to CMYK before uploading so the colors you see on screen match the finished flag.

A free online design tool and a professional design service are both available at checkout. Submit your logo and our team sends you a free digital proof showing your branding on the leaf silhouette within 24 hours.

Care instructions

Product care

  • Hand wash the flag fabric with mild soap and cold water. Air dry completely before folding. Do not machine wash because agitation damages the knitted edges and shortens fabric life.
  • Fold the flag loosely when storing. Tight folds crease the fabric and stress the dye sublimation print over time. Use the included carry bag to keep pole sections and the flag together between events.
  • Wipe pole sections with a dry cloth after outdoor use. Check the threaded connectors for sand or debris that makes reassembly harder. Fiberglass pole tips flex in wind but can snap if forced past their natural arc.
  • Pull the ground spike from wet soil after each use and let it dry before storing. Drain the water bag completely and air dry it to prevent mildew. In sustained winds above 25 mph, take the flag down until conditions improve.
