4 Mil White PVC Calendar Film With Matte Finish
4 mil white PVC calendar film (a thin but sturdy vinyl sheet rated for outdoor use) forms the base of every windshield decal we print. The matte finish cuts glare on glass surfaces, so your design reads clearly from outside the cab without reflection washing it out. And because the material conforms to flat and slightly curved glass without bubbling, it sits flush against truck windshields from edge to edge. Sharp results. No lifting corners.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Crisp, Lasting Color
UV printing (a process where ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light) runs at 720 DPI minimum on every order at A2Z Printing Hub, locking color into the vinyl surface rather than sitting on top of it. That bond is what makes the print scratch-resistant and waterproof for 3 to 5 years on a truck windshield exposed to direct sun and road debris. Worth knowing: UV-cured ink does not fade gradually the way solvent inks do. Colors stay bold through the full rated lifespan.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 In Wide
Die-cut finishing (cut to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle) handles any shape up to 58.5 in wide, so a logo, lettering, or graphic fits the windshield glass without awkward white borders. Kiss-cut on the backing sheet (meaning we cut through the vinyl only, leaving the backing intact) keeps the decal clean and flat until you're ready to apply it. Your design arrives peeling-ready.

Ideal for
Not the Best Fit For
Full windshield coverage across the entire glass surface is not what this product does. We cut decals for specific placement areas. A local wrap installer handles full-coverage glass film.
Temporary windshield signage that needs daily removal (parking permits, event passes) belongs with Magnetic Signs. They attach and come off without adhesive every time.
If the driver needs to see through the printed area, go with Perforated Window Decals. The opaque 4 mil PVC blocks the view completely, so placement above the sightline matters.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Truck Windshield Decals configuration.
-
Windshield Placement Determines Your Usable Width
Measure the glass area you want to cover before entering any custom size. The visor strip across the top of a full-size truck cab typically runs 4 to 6 in tall and spans the full cab width. Stay at or under 58.5 in wide and your decal ships as one flat piece. Go wider and it ships in multiple pieces with alignment markings, which adds complexity at install time. Measure twice. Order once.
-
Single Truck Versus a Fleet Changes Your Timeline
A single truck order ships within 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Fleet orders of 10 or more trucks may add 1 to 2 production days. Worth knowing: submit all vehicle measurements at once so every decal in the fleet ships together. Consistent sizing across 10 or 50 trucks keeps the branding uniform from day one, and volume pricing applies automatically at checkout.
-
Opaque Decal Versus a See-Through Graphic
Here's the thing: this product is not the right fit if your driver needs outward visibility through the printed area. The 4 mil white PVC calendar film is fully opaque. If the decal sits in the visor band above the driver's sightline, opaque PVC works fine. But if placement overlaps the driver's field of view, go to Perforated Window Decals instead. Those use 70/30 perforated vinyl that shows your graphic from outside while keeping visibility from inside.
-
Simple Lettering Versus a Die-Cut Logo Shape
Simple text or bold lettering works on any standard file format. For a die-cut logo, upload your artwork on a transparent background so we cut around the exact design edges, not a rectangle border. A PDF or AI file gives the cleanest cut line at 720 DPI. And if you're unsure about your file, our free digital proof catches any edge issues before production starts.
Pair it with
Removable Alternative for Dual-Use Trucks
Your truck does double duty between job sites and personal use. Magnetic Signs attach to the door or tailgate without adhesive, so you pull them off on weekends and put them back Monday morning. No commitment, no residue.
Complete the Truck Branding
A windshield decal covers the front glass, but your contact info needs to read from every direction at a traffic stop. Custom Truck Door Decals handle the largest flat panel on the cab. Custom Truck Rear Window Decals and Custom Truck Bumper Decals cover the back, so your logo and phone number show up no matter which angle a driver catches you from.
See-Through Glass Option
The 4 mil PVC on this product is fully opaque. But if your decal placement crosses the driver's sightline, you need a different material. Perforated Window Decals use 70/30 perforated vinyl (70 percent print area, 30 percent open holes) so your graphic reads from outside while the driver keeps full outward visibility.
Match the Truck to a Fixed Location
Custom Signs let a small business owner run the same logo and color scheme on a storefront sign as on the windshield decal. The vehicle and the location tell one consistent visual story.
FAQs
Will a Permanent Adhesive Decal Damage My Truck's Windshield Glass When I Remove It?
No, not on factory glass. Apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining residue wipes off cleanly with rubbing alcohol. The permanent adhesive bonds firmly to glass during use but does not etch or scratch the surface on removal.
How Long Do Truck Windshield Decals Hold Up Through Rain, Sun, and Car Washes?
The 4 mil white PVC calendar film is outdoor rated for 3 to 5 years under direct sun and road conditions. UV printing locks ink into the vinyl surface rather than sitting on top, so color stays sharp through rain, road debris, and regular car washes. Wait 72 hours after application before the first wash to let the adhesive fully cure.
Can I Apply a Windshield Decal Myself Without Getting Bubbles or Crooked Alignment?
Most buyers apply their own decal without trouble. Your order ships flat on a kiss-cut backing sheet (meaning the backing stays intact so the decal peels cleanly) with printed application instructions. Squeegee from the center outward to push air toward the edges. For decals wider than 36 in, a second set of hands helps keep alignment straight across the cab glass.
Do Truck Windshield Decals Block the Driver's View or Interfere With Defroster Lines?
Placement is your call, and you control where on the glass the decal sits. The visor strip across the top of the windshield typically clears the driver's sightline entirely. This product does not interfere with defroster lines on the rear glass because it applies to front cab glass only. If you need a rear window option, Custom Truck Rear Window Decals cover that placement.
What If My Decal Arrives and the Color Does Not Match My Approved Proof?
We reprint at no charge. Every order includes a free digital proof showing exact color output before anything goes to press. If the delivered print does not match that approved proof, contact us directly and we fix it fast. No forms, no back-and-forth.
Get your artwork right
Accepted formats are PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI. Vector files (AI or PDF built in a vector program) give the cleanest cut lines on die-cut shapes, so use them whenever your logo is available in that format.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Keeps the cut from landing on live content.
- Safe zone
- 0.5 in inside the cut line. Keep all text and logos inside that boundary.
- Color mode
- CMYK. RGB files convert to CMYK at proof stage, which can shift your brand colors. Submit in CMYK to match what you see on screen.
Resolution runs at 150 DPI minimum. For any decal under 2 ft wide, go to 300 DPI. Viewers standing outside the cab get close enough to spot a soft edge at lower resolution.
For die-cut shapes, upload your artwork on a transparent background. We cut around the exact design edges, not a rectangle border. Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before washing the truck. The adhesive needs that full cure period to bond firmly to the glass. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal and avoid directing high-pressure spray at the edges. After 2 weeks, normal automatic car wash use is fine.
- Clean the decal face with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products, or wax directly on the decal surface. To remove the decal, apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining adhesive residue cleans off factory glass with rubbing alcohol.
