Will These Decals Stick to Curved Surfaces Like Water Bottles and Hard Hat Shells?
Yes, but surface curvature matters. 4 mil PVC calendar film (a thin, flexible vinyl) conforms to gradual curves like water bottle bodies, hard hat shells, and gear bag straps without lifting at the edges. Tight compound curves, like the rounded crown of a sports helmet, are not a good fit. For those, Helmet Decals are die-cut specifically for that geometry.
How Long Do Custom Sport Team Decals Last on Outdoor Gear and Vehicles?
UV-printed 4 mil PVC is rated 3 to 5 years outdoors. Water-resistant and scratch-resistant from day one, so rain, sweat, and field conditions don't degrade the color. Indoors, on lockers and weight room walls, decals typically last longer because UV exposure and weather contact are reduced. Bat knob and high-contact equipment decals are the exception: treat those as consumable over a season.

Apply mild heat from a hair dryer if the adhesive resists. Do not rush the peel on fresh paint, which needs at least 30 days to fully cure before a decal goes on.

For raster files, 150 DPI is the floor. Go with 300 DPI on anything under 4 ft, because that's the distance where viewers get close enough to spot a soft edge.

- Set your bleed to 0.25 in on all sides so the cut line has margin. Keep text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge inside the safe zone. Color mode must be CMYK, not RGB. Vehicles and Gear Bags
- Wait 72 hours after application before washing. Clean with mild soap and water, and avoid high-pressure washing for the first 2 weeks so the adhesive fully cures to the surface.
Locker Room and Weight Room Walls
- Wipe with a damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the decal face. For removal, peel slowly from one corner and apply mild heat if the adhesive resists.
Water Bottles and Equipment
- Hand wash only. Soaking or running through a dishwasher shortens adhesive life. Bat knob decals and other high-contact decals are consumable over a season. Replace them when edges start to lift.
Hard Hat Shells
- Wipe with a damp cloth and inspect for heat damage or chemical contact after each work week. Do not cover the manufacturer's certification label on the shell. Replace any decal that shows bubbling or peeling.
