- Wait 72 hours after applying your decal before running the car through any wash. The permanent adhesive on 4 mil PVC needs that full cure period to bond tightly to painted metal, glass, or plastic. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal and avoid high-pressure jets aimed at the edges.
- Clean the decal surface with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products, or wax applied directly on top of the vinyl. To remove the decal, warm the surface with a heat gun or hair dryer on low heat, then peel slowly from one corner. Factory paint finishes do not get damaged when you follow this method.
