How to orderSpecifications
Custom Vinyl Mesh Banners are perforated PVC Flex vinyl banners built for outdoor locations where solid vinyl would fail. The micro-holes across the face cut wind load by roughly 30 to 40 percent compared to solid vinyl, so the material holds flat on fences, scaffolding, and building facades. This is the format built for sustained high-wind environments.
- Material
- Perforated PVC Flex vinyl with micro-holes across the full banner face.Wind passes through the holes so the banner stays flat under sustained outdoor pressure.
- Print Method
- Eco-solvent or UV inkjet printing bonds weather-resistant inks directly to the mesh surface.Inks hold color through rain, direct sun, and temperature swings.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color across the mesh surface. The print reads as solid from a viewing distance despite the perforations.
- Finishing
- Brass grommets every 2 ft. Pole pockets and hem and heat weld also available.Pick your finishing option in the configurator before submitting your file.
- Size Range
- Custom sizing from small fence panels up to 20 ft x 100 ft.Banners over 10 ft in width or height include a welded seam for structural integrity.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for outdoor use. Expect roughly 6 to 12 months in direct sun.Mesh dries faster than solid vinyl after rain because air moves through the perforations.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided standard. Double-sided with a blockout liner (a white layer between front and back prints that stops show-through) available.Order double-sided for fence lines visible from both directions.
- Weight
- 11 oz or 16 oz mesh vinyl. The 16 oz holds up longer on multi-month building wraps and tall scaffolding with sustained wind.

Perforated Mesh Vinyl That Cuts Wind Load by Roughly 30 to 40 Percent
Perforated PVC Flex mesh vinyl comes in 11 oz or 16 oz. Tiny holes punched across the full face let wind pass through instead of pressing against a solid surface. The banner stays flat against fences and scaffolding rather than billowing and pulling hardware loose. Solid vinyl in the same location catches wind like a sail. Mesh does not. That difference is why this is the only banner format rated for sustained high-wind outdoor locations.
Full-Color CMYK Print That Reads Solid From a Viewing Distance
Eco-solvent or UV inkjet inks lay full-color CMYK graphics across the mesh surface. CMYK combines cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to reproduce most brand colors and photographic images. Up close, you can see the tiny holes and light passes through. From roughly 10 ft away, the image reads as a solid print. Bold colors and thick lettering help the design stay legible from across a street or parking lot.
Brass Grommets Every 2 ft on a Heat-Welded Hem
Brass grommets (rust-resistant metal rings punched into the banner edge) sit every 2 ft along a heat-welded hem. The folded edges are sealed with heat for a reinforced, clean border. That welded edge holds rope and bungee cords without tearing, even on banners spanning more than 10 ft where a welded seam runs through the field. Pole pockets available for rod-style mounting. At A2Z Printing Hub, finishing options appear in the configurator so you match the hardware before ordering.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Standard storefront or retail facade signage works better on solid vinyl, which gives a fully opaque print surface at lower cost. Custom Vinyl Banners are the right call there.
Indoor trade show backdrops and lobby displays lose print density on a perforated surface. Fabric Banners drape cleanly with zero glare and handle that job better.
Personal celebrations like birthday or graduation yard displays do not need wind pass-through. Solid 11 oz vinyl gives a sharper, more vivid result for those setups.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Vinyl Mesh Banners configuration.
-
Choosing Between 11 oz and 16 oz Mesh for Your Location
Your mounting height and display duration decide this. Go with 16 oz mesh for scaffolding, building wraps, and any location where the banner stays up longer than 3 months or sits above rooftop height where wind pressure builds. The heavier material holds its shape and resists edge fraying through sustained outdoor exposure.
Use 11 oz for shorter fence runs and seasonal displays wrapping up inside 3 months. Select your weight in the configurator before uploading your file.
-
Deciding Whether Mesh or Solid Vinyl Fits Your Fence or Wall
Here's the thing: mesh only earns its cost on surfaces where wind passes behind the banner face. Open chain-link fencing, scaffolding pipe, and building facades with an air gap behind them all qualify. Solid vinyl on those surfaces catches wind like a sail and pulls grommets loose within days.
Got a solid masonry wall or a storefront with no wind gap? Solid vinyl from our Custom Vinyl Banners page gives a sharper, fully opaque print at a lower cost per square foot.
-
Sizing Your Mesh Banner for a Fence Run or Building Wrap
-
Standard Fence Panels
A 4 ft x 8 ft or 4 ft x 16 ft banner covers most standard chain-link bays. Confirm your fence height and the total run length before submitting dimensions.
-
Large-Format Building Wraps
Any banner exceeding 10 ft in width or height gets a welded seam (a heat-fused joint that runs across the field for structural integrity). Order your exact dimensions and seam placement is handled in production. Wraps up to 20 ft x 100 ft are available.
-
Picking the Right Finishing for Your Mounting Method
Brass grommets every 2 ft handle most fence and scaffolding tie-offs with zip ties or rope. Use pole pockets if you plan to slide a horizontal rod through the top and bottom edges for a taut, frame-style display. And for large building wraps, add hem and heat weld on all four edges for the cleanest, most reinforced border. Pick your finishing option in the configurator.
Pair it with
Solid Vinyl for Mixed-Wind Job Sites
Some locations on the same site have a solid wall or backing where wind pass-through isn't needed. Custom Vinyl Banners in solid 13 oz or 16 oz PVC Flex handle those spots cleanly, giving you a fully opaque print surface at a lower cost per square foot.
Extend Branding Past the Fence Line
Your mesh banner covers the fence perimeter. Custom Pole Banners and Custom Street Banners carry the same branding down the surrounding block on street light poles and building facades. Visibility starts before anyone reaches the site.
Add Ground-Level and Mobile Visibility
Custom Flags planted at the site entrance give your project a second visibility layer from down the street. Custom Signs in aluminum give you a permanent replacement once the mesh banner comes down after construction ends.
Shelter and Sidewalk Coverage for Events
For festivals and outdoor concerts, Canopy Tents and A-Frame Signs handle the entrance and interior setup. Your branding runs from the curb to the main stage while mesh banners cover the fence perimeter.
FAQs
Will the Perforations Make My Custom Vinyl Mesh Banner Look Faded or Dotted From the Street?
No. The micro-holes across the mesh face are roughly 1 mm in diameter. From about 10 ft away, the CMYK print reads as a solid image and colors stay bold. You'll see the perforations only when standing directly in front of the banner at arm's length. Bolder colors and larger text help maximize visual impact at viewing distance.
How Long Will a Mesh Banner Hold Up on an Outdoor Construction Fence Before Needing Replacement?
Expect roughly 6 to 12 months of outdoor life in direct sun with eco-solvent or UV inkjet inks. The 16 oz mesh holds up longer on multi-month builds than the 11 oz. Mesh also dries faster than solid vinyl after rain because air moves freely through the perforations, so moisture does not pool and stress the material.
What Happens if My Mesh Banner Arrives With a Print Defect or Shipping Damage?
We send a free reprint. Contact us with a photo of the damage or defect and we handle it from there. Production does not start again until you confirm the replacement is what you need. This applies to every order, not just large-format wraps.
Can I Get a Digital Proof Before My Mesh Banner Goes to Print?
Yes. Every order gets a free digital proof within 24 hours. Production starts the same day you approve, for approvals before 12 PM EST. Large mesh building wraps over 10 ft x 20 ft typically need 3 to 5 business days due to seam welding.
Do I Need Special Hardware or Tools to Hang a Mesh Banner on Chain-Link Fencing?
Not really. Brass grommets punched every 2 ft along the hem let you attach the banner with standard zip ties, rope, or bungee cords. No tools needed for most fence installations. But if you plan a frame-style display with a rod running through the top and bottom, order pole pockets instead of grommets when you configure your finishing.
Get your artwork right
File formats we accept: PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI. Vector AI files are best for logos because they scale without losing edge sharpness.
- Resolution
- Resolution runs a minimum of 150 DPI at final print size. For banners under 4 ft where viewers step close, 300 DPI is the better target.
- Artwork setup
- Here's the thing with mesh: perforations reduce overall print density by roughly 30 percent. Use bolder colors and larger text than you would on solid vinyl. Avoid fine detail and small fonts. Keep key visuals away from the seam line on banners over 10 ft.
- Color mode
- Color mode must be CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black), not RGB. CMYK matches how we print, so colors come out closer to what you see on screen. Set bleed to 0.25 in on all four sides and keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the trim line.

Care instructions
Product care
- Rinse the mesh surface with a garden hose to remove dirt, dust, and debris. The perforations let water drain fast, so the banner dries quickly without pooling.
- For stubborn spots, wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not use abrasive cleaners or pressure washers. Both can lift ink from the mesh surface.
- Roll the banner for storage rather than folding it. Folds create crease lines that show in the print when the banner goes back up. Store rolled banners in a cool, dry place away from direct sun. Mesh stored flat in heat can develop a set that makes re-hanging harder.
