How to orderSpecifications
Custom Magnetic Vehicle Door Signs run on a 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet printed with full-color UV ink. Each sign is sized for vehicle door panels specifically, keeping the layout clear of handles, mirrors, and body creases. These are the right choice for steel door panels on cars, trucks, and vans.
- Material
- 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet. Removable, no adhesive, no residue. Grips steel door panels only. Does not hold on aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print. Ink bonds to the magnetic surface and cures instantly, giving you a scratch-resistant, water-resistant finish.
- Color Output
- CMYK full-color (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black). Reproduces logos, photos, and text in sharp, accurate color across the full sign face.
- Finishing
- Straight or rounded corners available. Rounded corners reduce wind catch at highway speed and prevent edge lifting on door panels.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes available. Standard door sign sizes run roughly 12x18 in, 12x24 in, and 18x24 in. Avoid sizing that overlaps door handles or body creases.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for outdoor use. With weekly removal and cleaning, the printed graphic holds up roughly 2 to 3 years. Indoor storage when not in use extends lifespan.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided print only. The magnetic backing faces the door surface. The printed face is the visible side.
- Thickness
- 30 mil (roughly 0.03 in). Standard thickness for vehicle door magnets. Thinner magnets lose grip at speed.

30 Mil Magnetic Sheet Sized for Door Panels
The 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet is a thick, pliable magnet material that grips steel surfaces without adhesive. It gives your door sign enough body to lie flat against a door panel without sagging at the edges. Thinner magnets lose grip at speed. At 30 mil, the sheet holds firm through highway driving and stays readable at a glance. A2Z Printing Hub cuts each sign to door-specific dimensions, so the layout clears handles, mirrors, and body creases from the start.
Direct UV Print That Holds Up in Rain and Sun
UV printing bonds ink directly to the magnetic surface, then cures it instantly with ultraviolet light. You get a scratch-resistant, water-resistant finish. Bold color. Crisp text. No peeling or cracking after road spray and direct sun. But here's the thing: the cured ink layer is what separates a sign that still looks sharp after 2 to 3 years from one that fades after a single summer. Weather resistance lives in this block.
Apply, Remove, and Reuse Without Tools or Adhesive
No adhesive means you lift the sign straight off the door in seconds, wipe both surfaces, and reapply the next morning. One sign set handles years of daily use without residue or paint damage. Removability (the ability to take the sign off at will without tools or solvents) is the core reason small business owners and fleet managers choose this product over permanent vinyl.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Vehicles with aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic door panels where a magnet will not grip. Custom Vehicle Decals adhere to any smooth surface regardless of panel material.
Businesses that want branding on the vehicle 24 hours a day for 3 to 5 years without removal. Custom Vehicle Decals use adhesive vinyl rated for long-term outdoor exposure.
Curved surfaces like bumpers or wheel arches where the magnetic sheet cannot lie flat. Custom Vehicle Decals conform to curved panels with adhesive backing.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Magnetic Vehicle Door Signs configuration.
-
Sizing Your Door Sign to the Actual Panel
Measure from below the window line down to just above the body crease. Subtract 2 in on each side to stay clear of handles, mirrors, and trim edges.
Most car doors fit an 18x24 in sign comfortably. Most truck doors take a 12x24 in or 18x24 in sign. Start with those sizes in the configurator and adjust from there.
-
Straight Corners Versus Rounded Corners
Rounded corners are the better choice for any sign that stays on the vehicle while you drive. A straight corner catches wind at the edge and can start to lift above roughly 45 mph. Rounded corners keep the sign flat against the panel at speeds up to about 65 mph. Straight corners work fine if the sign comes off before you pull out of the parking lot.
-
Magnetic Door Signs Versus Permanent Vehicle Decals
Here's the thing: the right answer depends on one question. Do you need to remove the sign at the end of the workday?
-
Choose magnetic door signs when:
Your vehicle is leased, the door panel is steel, or you need branding off by evening. The 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet grips steel doors firmly and peels off in seconds without residue.
-
Choose Custom Vehicle Decals when:
The panel is aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic, or when branding stays on permanently. Adhesive vinyl rated for 3 to 5 years outdoor exposure is not removable without effort, but it works on any smooth surface a magnet cannot grip.
-
Single Sign Versus a Matched Pair
A single sign covers the driver door. But most clients who drive to job sites want both doors showing the same business name. Order a matched pair (one driver side, one passenger side) so every angle of your parked vehicle shows your contact number. Matched pairs ship together and cost less per sign than two separate orders.
Pair it with
Permanent Alternative for Non-Steel Panels
Your door panels are steel and the magnet grips fine. But aluminum-body vehicles, fiberglass panels, and curved surfaces need a different solution. Custom Vehicle Decals use adhesive vinyl rated 3 to 5 years outdoors and bond to any smooth surface regardless of material.
Larger Magnetic Formats for Bigger Vehicles
Door signs cover the driver and passenger panels. For a service van with a full flat side, Custom Magnetic Van Signs cover the entire body panel for maximum road visibility. Running a pickup or commercial truck? Custom Magnetic Truck Door Signs are sized for the wider, taller door panels on those vehicles.
Match Your Storefront to Your Vehicle
Clients see your door signs on the road. Business Signs give your shop or office the same logo and color scheme, so the brand reads the same at the door as it does on your vehicle.
Extend Your Presence at the Job Site
Your door signs brand the vehicle parked outside. A-Frame Signs placed at the job site entrance carry the same name and number to every passerby. Custom Banners hung across a storefront or fence line do the same for foot traffic on the block.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
File formats accepted: PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI. We prefer AI or PDF for any file containing logos because vector files (artwork built from scalable paths rather than pixels) scale to any sign size without going soft.
- Resolution
- Resolution runs 150 DPI at minimum. Go with 300 DPI for any sign under 24 in wide. At that size, someone reading your phone number from the sidewalk is close enough to spot a blurry edge.
- Color mode
- Set your color mode to CMYK before exporting. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) is how our UV printer lays down ink. Colors matched in CMYK come out on the magnetic sheet closer to what you see on screen. RGB files shift during conversion and can throw off brand colors.
- Bleed
- Add 0.25 in bleed on all four sides. Keep logos and text at least 0.5 in from every edge. The white magnetic sheet is the default background, so white areas in your layout show as the sheet surface rather than printed ink.
Our free online design tool builds your layout directly in the configurator. A professional design service is also available at checkout. Upload your sign artwork and our team sends you a free digital proof showing the exact print area, corner cut, and color layout within 24 hours.

Production and Shipping Timeline
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Bulk fleet orders of 10 or more signs may add 1 to 2 production days. Signs ship flat only. Rolling causes permanent curl that weakens magnetic grip on the door panel.
Volume discounts apply for orders of 10 or more. Order before 12 PM EST and your signs go into production the same day. Bulk orders of 10 or more qualify for volume pricing.

Care instructions
Product care
- Remove the sign from your door at least once a week. Wipe the magnetic backing and the door surface with a damp cloth to clear any trapped dirt or grit. Grit between the magnet and the paint is what scratches a surface, not the magnet itself.
- Lift the sign straight off the panel. Don't slide it across the door. Set it face-down on a clean, flat surface while you wipe the door dry.
- Store the sign flat on a steel surface (a file cabinet or refrigerator works well) or between two flat boards. Do not roll, fold, or stack signs with printed faces touching.
- Remove the sign before any automatic car wash. Brush rollers catch the edges and can tear the sign off at speed. Hand wash the door area or pull the sign off first, then reapply once the surface dries completely.
