How to orderSpecifications
Custom Magnetic Van Signs run on a 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet printed with direct UV ink in full CMYK color. This is the thickest standard magnetic sheet we offer, built specifically for the large, flat side panels on service vans. It grips steel surfaces without adhesive and peels off cleanly every time.
- Material
- 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet, removable, no adhesive, no residue.Thicker than standard refrigerator magnets (roughly 10 to 15 mil), so it holds flat at highway speed.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print, ink cured instantly by ultraviolet light onto the magnetic surface.Produces a scratch-resistant finish that does not peel, bubble, or lift under road spray.
- Color Output
- CMYK full-color (cyan, magenta, yellow, black combined to reproduce any logo color or photo). No color limits on artwork.
- Finishing
- Straight or rounded corners available.Rounded corners reduce edge lifting at highway speed and are the better choice for van side panel use.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes cut to your exact dimensions. Full van side panel magnets run up to 2x4 ft. Door-only sizes start around 12x18 in.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Outdoor rated for 2 to 3 years with proper weekly care.Remove and dry both surfaces after heavy rain to prevent moisture trapping between the sign and panel.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided print only. The magnetic backing faces the van panel and the printed face carries your full-color artwork.
- Weight
- A 2x4 ft sign runs roughly 2 to 3 lbs. Light enough to apply and remove by hand without a second person.

30 Mil Magnetic Sheet Sized for Van Side Panels
The 30 mil flexible magnetic sheet grips steel van panels without adhesive. That's roughly 2 to 3 times thicker than standard refrigerator magnets, which run 10 to 15 mil. And that extra thickness matters at speed. It holds firm on full side panels at highway speed without sagging or lifting at the edges, so your branding stays flat and readable during every service call. Thinner sheets curl at the corners above 45 mph. This one doesn't.
Direct UV Print That Holds Up in the Elements
UV print (ultraviolet-cured ink bonded directly to the magnetic surface) produces bold, scratch-resistant color in full CMYK. A2Z Printing Hub cures each sheet instantly after printing, locking ink into the surface so rain, road spray, and direct sun don't break it down across a full work season. Sharp lines. No peeling. Weather resistance is built into the print method, not a coating applied on top.
Apply, Remove, and Reapply Without Tools or Adhesive
No adhesive means zero residue on your paint. Peel the sign straight off in seconds, wipe both surfaces clean, and reapply the next morning with no tools and no damage to the van's finish. Rounded corners (available at checkout) remove the 90-degree edge that catches wind and starts to lift at highway speed. Straight corners work for low-speed or stationary use. Your choice, cut to your exact dimensions.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Vans with aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic body panels won't hold a magnet at any thickness. Vehicle Decals use adhesive that bonds to any smooth panel regardless of material.
Businesses that want branding on the van 24 hours a day for 3 or more years need a longer-lasting solution. Vehicle Decals are rated for 3 to 5 years of continuous outdoor exposure.
Curved surfaces like bumpers or wheel arches can't conform to a flat magnetic sheet. Vehicle Decals adhere to curved panels without lifting.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Magnetic Van Signs configuration.
-
Van Panel Size Determines Your Sign Dimensions
Measure the flat section of your van side panel before ordering. Run the tape between the wheel arch, the door handle, and any body crease where the panel curves. Most full-side cargo van panels fit a 2x4 ft sign comfortably. Door-only placement typically lands at 12x24 in or 18x24 in.
Order to your exact measured dimensions so the sign sits flat without bridging any curved edge. That's where edge lift starts.
-
Rounded Versus Straight Corners Based on Placement and Speed
Choose rounded corners for any sign that travels at highway speed. The rounded edge removes the 90-degree corner that catches wind and begins to peel. Straight corners work for low-speed use or stationary display. Select your corner style in the configurator before you upload artwork, since the cut profile affects the bleed area.
-
Magnetic Signs Versus Permanent Vehicle Decals Based on Your Removal Needs
-
When Magnetic Signs Are the Right Call
Go with magnetic signs when you drive the van for personal use at least once a week. Same call if your lease prohibits permanent modification. The 30 mil sheet peels off in seconds and leaves zero residue on the paint.
-
When Vehicle Decals Make More Sense
Go with Vehicle Decals when the van stays branded full-time and you want 3 to 5 years of continuous outdoor durability without weekly removal. And if your body panels are aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic, skip magnetic entirely. Magnets will not grip those surfaces. Vehicle Decals bond to any smooth panel regardless of material.
-
Single Van Versus Fleet Order Quantity Affects Production Timeline
Single van orders ship within 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Fleet orders of 10 or more matching signs may add 1 to 2 production days to that timeline. Place fleet orders at least 5 business days before your target delivery date. Consistent sizing across every van in a crew keeps the branding uniform without reordering individual replacements mid-season.
Pair it with
Match Your Van at the Job Site
Your van carries the brand to the site. These products keep it visible once you park. Place an A-Frame Sign at the job site entrance so foot traffic and passersby see your name at ground level while the van sits in the driveway. A Custom Banner in matching colors covers a fence line or storefront facade with the same logo and phone number.
When Magnets Won't Grip the Panel
Aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic body panels do not hold a magnet. Vehicle Decals use adhesive vinyl rated for 3 to 5 years and bond to any smooth surface, including non-steel panels.
Other Magnetic Sign Sizes for Mixed Fleets
Pickup trucks and commercial truck doors run wider than most van door panels. Custom Magnetic Truck Signs cover doors up to 24x36 in. Custom Magnetic Vehicle Door Signs include placement guides that steer around handles and body creases on any vehicle.
Build a Consistent Brand Beyond the Van
A permanent storefront sign anchors your brand at the office or shop. Custom Flags at the job site entrance mark your location from the road when the van is parked out of sight.
FAQs
Will a Magnetic Van Sign Scratch My Paint If I Leave It On All Week?
The magnet itself does not scratch paint. Dirt and grit trapped between the magnetic backing and your van panel do. Remove the sign at least once a week and wipe both surfaces with a damp cloth. Let them dry before reapplying, and always lift the sign straight off. Never slide it sideways across the panel.
How Do I Know If My Van's Body Panels Will Hold a Magnet Before I Order?
Hold a standard refrigerator magnet against your van door. If it grips firmly, your panel is steel and our 30 mil sheet will hold. If it slides or falls, your panel is aluminum, fiberglass, or plastic, and a magnetic sign will not stay put at any speed. Most cargo vans and full-size service vans have steel side panels, but some newer fleet models use aluminum doors. Check before ordering.
What Happens to the Printed Colors After Months of Sun and Rain on a Service Van?
Direct UV print bonds ink to the magnetic surface and cures it solid, so the color does not peel or bubble. The printed face resists rain and road spray through a full work season. With weekly removal and cleaning, you can expect the graphic to stay bold and readable for roughly 2 to 3 years outdoors.
Can I Order Matching Sets for a 5-Vehicle Crew Fleet?
Yes. Order your quantity in a single session and specify matching dimensions and artwork in the order notes. We print all units from the same file, so color stays consistent across every sign in the set. Fleet orders of 10 or more trigger automatic volume discounts. Place fleet orders at least 5 business days before your target date since production may run 1 to 2 days longer than a single-sign order.
How Fast Will My Van Signs Arrive After I Approve the Proof?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Signs ship flat in rigid mailers to prevent curl during transit. But delivery time after production depends on your location and the shipping method you select at checkout.
Get your artwork right
Resolution makes or breaks a van sign read from 10 to 20 ft away. Submit files at 300 DPI (dots per inch, the measure of print sharpness) at final print size. 150 DPI is the minimum we accept, but anything under 300 DPI on a sign this large risks a soft edge on text and logos.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI or PDF with outlined fonts) scale without losing sharpness and are the better choice for logos and phone numbers.
- Color mode
- CMYK only. RGB is a screen color system that shifts when converted to print. CMYK matches how we print, so the colors you see in your file come out as expected on the magnetic sheet.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. Keep all critical text and logos at least 0.5 in from every edge. The magnetic sheet background is white by default, so any white area in your design shows as the sheet surface itself.

Care instructions
Product care
- Remove the sign from your van at least once a week. Wipe the van surface and the magnetic backing with a damp cloth to clear any dirt, grit, or moisture trapped between the two surfaces. Trapped grit scratches paint. The magnet itself does not.
- Never slide the sign sideways across the panel. Lift it straight off to avoid dragging debris across the paint. Remove the sign before any automatic car wash. Brush arms catch the edges and can tear the sign off at speed.
- Store the sign flat on a steel surface like a file cabinet, or between two flat boards, when it's not on the van. Do not roll, fold, or stack printed faces together. Rolling causes permanent curl that weakens grip at highway speed.
