The magnet itself does not scratch paint. Trapped dirt and grit between the magnetic backing and the truck panel do. For all other files, 150 DPI is the floor and 300 DPI is what we recommend for any sign under 24 in on the short side.

Product care
- Remove the sign from your truck at least once a week. Wipe the magnetic backing and the truck panel with a damp cloth to clear dirt, grit, or trapped moisture. Trapped grit scratches paint. The magnet itself does not.
- Never slide the sign sideways across the paint. Lift it straight off, then set it face-down on a clean flat surface while you wipe the panel.
- Store the sign flat on a steel surface (a file cabinet works fine) or between two flat boards. Do not roll or fold it. Rolling causes a permanent curl that weakens grip at highway speed.
- Remove the sign before any automatic car wash. Brush arms catch the edges and can tear the sign off. Hand wash with the sign removed, then reapply once the panel is completely dry.
