How to orderSpecifications
Custom Graduation Yard Signs print on 4mm corrugated plastic (also called Coroplast), a rigid, lightweight, waterproof sheet built for temporary outdoor display. Direct UV ink bonds to the surface and resists fading through weeks of rain, sprinklers, and sun. These signs are built for the 2 to 4 week graduation display window, with durability that easily covers the full season.
- Material
- 4mm corrugated plastic (Coroplast).Rigid, waterproof, and lightweight. Handles rain and sprinklers without warping across the display period.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print.Ink bonds directly to the plastic surface and cures instantly, giving a scratch-resistant, weatherproof finish.
- Color Output
- Full CMYK color.Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combine to reproduce student photos and school colors accurately on every sign.
- Finishing
- Wire H-stakes included. Grommets available on request.H-stakes slide into the corrugated flutes and push into lawn soil without drilling.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes available. Signs wider than 48 in have horizontal flutes running left to right.Contact us before ordering oversized signs, as horizontal flutes affect how the H-stake inserts.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- 3 to 6 months continuous outdoor exposure.Stored flat and dry between uses, the same sign typically holds up across multiple graduation seasons.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Both available on every order.Double-sided is the better choice for corner lots or two-way streets where traffic passes from both directions.
- Flute Direction
- Vertical on signs up to 48 in wide. Horizontal on signs over 48 in wide.Flute direction determines how the H-stake slides in, so size affects mounting, not just appearance.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Permanent outdoor graduation displays meant to stay up for years. Corrugated plastic holds up for 3 to 6 months of continuous outdoor exposure, then fades and becomes brittle. Metal Signs on .040 aluminum last 5 or more years without fading and mount to a wall or post for a lasting keepsake display.
Large-format graduation backdrops or porch displays where a hung sign works better than a ground-staked one. Graduation Banners on PVC vinyl cover that use case and hang across a fence, garage, or porch for the party.
Wall-mounted or building-mounted graduation signage needs a rigid mounted product, not a yard stake. Acrylic Signs handle wall-mounted applications and give a clean, polished look indoors.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Graduation Yard Signs configuration.
-
Ordering for One Student or for a Full Graduating Class
Here's the thing: the ordering process works the same whether you need 1 sign or 100. A single-student order starts and finishes in the configurator with one name, one photo, and your chosen size. A class-wide parent group order runs the same way. Upload one shared template and submit individual student names and photos per sign. Most parent group orders fall between 20 and 100-plus signs, each fully personalized. Start in the configurator, set your quantity to match your class size, and the per-sign price adjusts automatically with volume discounts.
-
Single-Sided or Double-Sided Based on Yard Placement
Single-sided printing works when your yard faces one direction of traffic. Double-sided adds the same design to the back so drivers coming from both directions read the sign clearly. It costs more, but a corner lot or a two-way street makes the upgrade worth it. Choose double-sided if the sign sits where traffic passes from both sides.
-
Standard Size or Custom Size Based on Yard Space and Viewing Distance
Size determines whether a driver actually reads the name before passing. The most common graduation yard sign size is 18 in x 24 in, which reads clearly from roughly 20 to 25 ft at normal residential street speed. A 24 in x 36 in sign works for wider streets or larger front yards where drivers move at 30 to 35 mph. Pick your size in the configurator and upload your artwork at 300 DPI for the sharpest result.
Pair it with
Complete the Graduation Celebration Setup
The yard sign marks the lawn. Graduation Banners on PVC vinyl or fabric cover the porch, fence, or garage backdrop for the party itself. Custom Flags add moving color at the driveway entrance alongside the staked sign, pulling attention from roughly 25 to 30 ft away.
Celebrate Other Family Milestones the Same Way
Corrugated plastic yard signs work for more than one event per year. Custom Happy Birthday Yard Signs use the same 4mm material and H-stake setup for a sibling's party. Custom Welcome Home Yard Signs fit military homecomings and hospital discharges when you need a personalized sign fast.
When the Display Needs to Last Beyond One Season
Corrugated plastic holds up 3 to 6 months outdoors. For a lasting keepsake display, Metal Signs on .040 aluminum mount to a wall or post and hold color for 5 or more years without fading.
Extend the Celebration Beyond the Front Lawn
A-Frame Signs work at the party venue entrance to guide guests from the parking area. Custom Decals add graduation graphics to a car window or mailbox in minutes. Custom Corrugated Plastic Yard Signs cover any fully custom design outside the graduation template.
FAQs
Will the Student Photo Print Clearly on a Corrugated Plastic Sign?
Yes, and the key is your source file. Upload the photo at 300 DPI at the actual print size and the face prints sharp enough to read clearly from the sidewalk. A low-resolution phone screenshot (typically under 150 DPI) will look soft at 18 in x 24 in. Use the original photo file from your camera app or school photographer, not a compressed version pulled from social media.
How Long Will a Custom Graduation Yard Sign Hold Up if It Rains?
4mm corrugated plastic is waterproof. Rain, morning dew, and lawn sprinklers do not affect the surface or cause the UV-bonded ink to peel. The sign holds up through 3 to 6 months of continuous outdoor exposure, so a 2 to 4 week graduation display is well within that range. Pull the sign after the celebration and store it flat indoors if you want to keep it as a keepsake.
Can I Order Signs With Different Names and Photos in One Bulk Order?
Bulk personalization is built into the ordering process. Submit one shared template, then provide individual student names and photos per sign. Each sign prints with its own unique layout, and there is no minimum order quantity. Parent groups ordering 20 to 100-plus signs use this same workflow through the configurator.
Do H-Stakes Come With the Order?
H-stakes ship with every order at no extra charge. Wire H-stakes (the metal frames shaped like the letter H) slide into the corrugated channels and push into soft lawn soil without any tools. If your soil is hard or compacted from dry weather, push a screwdriver or spike into the ground first to open a pilot channel, then insert the stake.
How Do I Get a Proof Before the Signs Go to Print?
Every order includes a free digital proof showing the exact layout, colors, and student photo placement. We do not start production until you approve it. Proof turnaround is typically within 24 hours of your file submission. Review the name spelling, class year, and photo crop carefully before approving, because production starts within 1 business day of your sign-off.
Get your artwork right
Resolution makes or breaks a student photo on a yard sign. Submit files at 300 DPI (dots per inch, the measure of print sharpness) for any sign under 24 in wide, where viewers step close enough to spot a soft edge. 150 DPI is the floor for larger formats viewed from the street.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, JPG. AI and PDF (vector formats that scale without losing sharpness) are the best choice for logos and school crests.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all four sides so no white border appears after trimming.
- Safe zone
- Keep text, the student name, and the photo at least 0.5 in from each edge to avoid cropping.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined) is how our press mixes ink, so colors you see on screen match the printed sign. RGB files can shift noticeably in print.

Care instructions
Product care
- Push the H-stake into soft lawn soil first, then slide the sign into the stake channels. Check that the sign faces the street and sits level. No maintenance is needed during the 2 to 4 week display period. Corrugated plastic (the rigid, fluted waterproof sheet) handles rain, morning dew, and lawn sprinklers without peeling or warping.
- After the celebration, pull the H-stake and wipe the sign face with a damp cloth if it picked up dirt or grass spray. Store the sign flat, not leaning against a wall, to prevent warping between uses. Pull H-stakes from wet ground and store them dry. But if the originals rust before next year's graduation, replacement stakes are available.
