How to orderSpecifications
Custom Welcome Home Yard Signs print on 4mm corrugated plastic. It's a rigid, waterproof sheet, lightweight enough to carry in one hand and sturdy enough to hold upright in moderate wind with an H-stake. Every sign ships ready to stake, so there's no assembly beyond pushing the stake into the ground.
- Material
- 4mm corrugated plastic with wire H-stake included.Holds its shape outdoors for 3 to 6 months. For a 1 to 3 day welcome home display, it stays sharp through the full event.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print bonds ink to the sign surface and cures it instantly under UV light. The finish resists scratching and won't peel or bubble in outdoor conditions.
- Color Output
- CMYK full-color (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined to reproduce any color in your design).Photos, gradients, and bold text all print accurately in a single pass.
- Finishing
- H-stakes standard. Grommets (metal-rimmed holes punched into the sign edge) available on request.Grommets let you hang the sign from a fence or rope instead of staking it.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes available. Signs wider than 48 in have horizontal flutes running left to right across the face.Vertical flutes run top to bottom on signs up to 48 in wide, maintaining rigidity at standard yard-sign widths.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- 3 to 6 months continuous outdoor exposure before UV fading or edge wear becomes visible.Stored flat indoors between uses, the same sign typically lasts through multiple short-term deployments.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Both options available on every order.Double-sided prints both faces so the sign reads clearly from both traffic directions.
- Flute Direction
- Vertical on signs up to 48 in wide. Horizontal on signs over 48 in wide.Horizontal flutes maintain rigidity across wider widths where vertical flutes would flex.

4mm Corrugated Plastic With UV-Cured Full-Color Ink
Corrugated plastic (a rigid, waterproof sheet with hollow internal channels called flutes) runs 4mm thick on every sign we print. That thickness holds its shape through rain and wind for 3 to 6 months. Honestly, that's far longer than any welcome home display needs. A2Z Printing Hub bonds CMYK UV ink directly to the surface, curing it instantly so the finish resists scratching and won't peel when morning dew hits the face. Crisp text. Bold color. Ready the moment it lands in your yard.
H-Stakes Included for Instant Ground Setup
Every order ships with wire H-stakes included. Each stake is shaped like the letter H: it slides into the flute channels and pushes into the ground. Setup takes under a minute: slide the stake into the flutes, push it into the lawn, and the sign stands upright with no tools and no drilling. That matters when the homecoming is tomorrow and you're setting up before sunrise.
Single or Double-Sided Printing on Every Order
Double-sided printing puts your welcome message on both faces of the sign. Drivers and pedestrians approaching from either direction read the same bold, crisp greeting without needing two separate signs. Single-sided works when the sign faces one direction only. Not sure which fits your yard? Pick double-sided and cover both angles.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Permanent outdoor displays lasting more than 6 months. Corrugated plastic fades and becomes brittle with continuous exposure. [Metal Signs](Metal Signs) on aluminum hold up 5 or more years outdoors without replacement.
Wall-mounted or fence-mounted signage where there's no ground to stake into. [Metal Signs](Metal Signs), Acrylic Signs, or Business Signs mount directly to surfaces instead.
Large-format hanging displays for a porch or building facade. [Welcome Home Banners](Welcome Home Banners) in vinyl or fabric hang from grommets and cover much larger areas than a yard sign can.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Welcome Home Yard Signs configuration.
-
Single-Sided vs. Double-Sided Printing
Here's the thing: where the sign sits determines which option you need. Double-sided is the right call for any sign placed near a road or driveway where cars approach from both directions. Single-sided works when the sign faces one direction only, such as against a fence or hedge. But if you're not sure which way foot traffic will flow, pick double-sided. You get the same crisp full-color message on both faces without ordering two separate signs.
-
Sign Size for Your Yard and Viewing Distance
An 18 x 24 in sign reads clearly from roughly 20 to 25 ft away. That covers most residential driveways and front yards. Go to 24 x 36 in if your yard is deep or the sign needs to read from the street. Keep your primary text to 7 words or fewer, and use a minimum 3 in letter height so the message lands before a driver passes it.
-
H-Stakes vs. Grommets for Your Location
H-stakes work in any soft ground: lawns, garden beds, and loose soil. If the ground is hard, push a screwdriver into the soil first to open a pilot hole, then slide the stake in. Need to hang the sign from a porch railing, fence post, or rope? Choose grommets (metal-rimmed holes punched into the sign edge) instead of staking it into the ground.
-
Yard Sign vs. Welcome Home Banner for the Same Event
A yard sign on an H-stake sits at ground level and works best in a front yard with open sightlines. A Welcome Home Banner hangs from a porch, garage, or fence and covers a much larger area, typically 3 ft x 6 ft or larger. Order both if you want ground-level and elevated messaging at the same address for the same homecoming.
Pair it with
Hang a Message Above the Yard Sign
A yard sign sits at ground level and greets your returning loved one at the curb. Add a Welcome Home Banner hung from the porch or garage to stack messaging from ground to eye level. That covers every sightline from the driveway to the front door.
When the Sign Needs to Stay Up Longer
Corrugated plastic holds up for 3 to 6 months outdoors. But if you want a lasting keepsake display on a fence, gate, or exterior wall after the celebration, aluminum is the right call.
Other Personal Celebration Yard Signs
Same 4mm corrugated plastic, same H-stake system. Order these alongside your welcome home sign for the next milestone coming up in the yard.
Complete the Event Setup Beyond the Lawn
Custom Flags on feather poles add vertical movement and height above the yard sign, roughly 8 to 10 ft up. Custom Decals on the mailbox or front window carry the welcome message to every surface a guest passes before reaching the door.
FAQs
Can I Get a Sign in Time for a Surprise Arrival This Week?
Order before 12 PM EST and production starts the same day. Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval, and signs ship flat with H-stakes included. Rush production is available for time-sensitive military homecomings and hospital discharge pickups where the arrival date is only days out.
Will a Name and Photo Print Clearly at Yard-Sign Size?
Yes, provided your photo file is at least 150 DPI at final print size, and 300 DPI is what we recommend for anything under 4 ft wide. CMYK UV ink bonds directly to the 4mm corrugated plastic face and cures to a scratch-resistant, waterproof finish. Colors stay bold and faces stay sharp through the full 1 to 3 day display window.
Do H-Stakes Come With the Order?
Every order ships with wire H-stakes already bundled. You do not need to buy them separately or find hardware at a store before the event. Slide each stake into the flute channels, push it into soft ground, and the sign stands upright in under a minute. No tools needed.
How Long Will the Sign Hold Up After the Celebration?
For a 1 to 3 day welcome home display, the sign stays sharp through the full event. Continuous outdoor exposure rates the material at 3 to 6 months before UV fading or edge wear becomes visible. Store the sign flat and dry indoors after the event and it's ready for the next occasion without any degradation.
Can I See a Proof Before the Sign Goes to Print?
We do not start printing until you approve a free digital proof showing your exact layout, colors, and mounting setup. That proof catches any name spelling, photo cropping, or color issue before the sign runs. Once you approve it, production begins within 1 business day.
Get your artwork right
Worth knowing: yard signs get read from a moving car at roughly 15 to 35 mph. Keep your primary text to 7 words or fewer and use a minimum 3 in letter height for readability from 30 ft. High-contrast pairs, such as dark text on a light background, read fastest at speed.
- Accepted file formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI, PDF) are preferred for logos and text because they stay sharp at any size without pixelation.
- Resolution
- Minimum 150 DPI, recommended 300 DPI. At 300 DPI, a portrait photo on an 18x24 in sign prints with crisp edge detail visible from 15 to 20 ft away.
- Bleed
- Add 0.25 in on all four sides so the background color runs to the cut edge cleanly.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from each edge to avoid trimming.
- Color mode
- Submit files in CMYK, not RGB. CMYK matches how we print, so the colors on your screen match what comes off the press. RGB files shift during conversion and can make reds look orange.

Care instructions
Product care
- Push the H-stake into soft ground first, then slide the sign into the stake channels. The sign should sit level and face the direction of foot or vehicle traffic. Wipe the sign face with a damp cloth if it picks up dirt or mud during the display period. No cleaners are needed for a 1 to 3 day welcome home display.
- Pull the H-stake from the ground after the event. Wipe both the sign and the stake dry before storing, and stack the sign flat indoors, not leaning at an angle, to prevent warping. Wire H-stakes rust if left in wet ground for extended periods, so store them dry between uses. Replacement stakes are available if originals corrode.
