How to orderSpecifications
Custom Monument Signs ship as rigid, direct-printed panels ready to mount to a prepared monument base. Each panel runs full CMYK UV print on a lightweight, sturdy substrate sized to fit your base face opening. Rated for permanent outdoor use.
- Material
- Lightweight rigid panel. Mounts to concrete, stone, brick, or composite base structures sourced and installed locally by your contractor.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print. Ink cures instantly on the panel surface, giving you a scratch-resistant, waterproof finish that doesn't lift or crack outdoors.
- Color Output
- Full CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). Reproduces logos, gradients, and photography accurately across the entire panel face.
- Finishing
- Pre-drilled holes sized for standard anchor bolts. Your installer attaches the panel to the base without additional on-site drilling.
- Size Range
- Custom sizing available. Standard panels run roughly 24 in x 18 in up to 4 ft x 8 ft, matching your base face dimensions and local zoning height limits.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Permanent outdoor use. UV-printed panels typically hold color and structural integrity for 5 or more years in direct sun and weather exposure.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided panels are standard. Double-sided panels are available for freestanding structures readable from both entry and exit lanes.
- Weight
- Lightweight and rigid. Two-person installation onto a prepared base, no heavy lifting equipment needed.

Ground-Mounted Panel Built for Permanent Outdoor Exposure
Rigid sign panels mount directly to your concrete, stone, or composite monument base. They sit at ground level where drivers read them first. Building-mounted signs disappear above sightlines. A ground-mounted panel gives your property a fixed identity point visible at roughly 20 to 40 ft from the driveway approach, day or night, without repositioning or reinstallation. Sturdy. Permanent. Always facing the road.
Full-Color CMYK Direct UV Print on a Rigid Sign Panel
Direct UV print (ink cured instantly by ultraviolet light onto the panel surface) produces a scratch-resistant, waterproof finish that doesn't crack or peel. Sharp logos, crisp gradients, and bold photography all reproduce accurately in full CMYK color. Color holds through 5 or more years of direct sun, rain, and temperature swings without fading. A2Z Printing Hub applies this process to every panel we print, so the colors you approve on your proof are the colors that go up on your base.
Freestanding Entrance Identity That Zoning Codes Recognize
Monument signs are the format most municipal zoning codes recognize as a permanent freestanding structure. That matters because it means your entrance sign meets the setback and height rules that govern ground-level signage at commercial and institutional properties. Worth knowing: confirm your local ordinance for maximum height above grade (typically 6 ft to 8 ft for commercial properties) before finalizing panel dimensions. Your contractor sets the anchor pattern. We handle the panel.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Temporary event or promotional signage that goes up and comes down within days. Custom Banners handle short-run outdoor messaging without a foundation or installation.
Vehicle branding or mobile identification. Magnetic Signs cover removable vehicle door panels without any ground mounting or base structure.
Buyers needing a quick indoor room label or wayfinding arrow. Custom Indoor Signs cover interior identification without the foundation and zoning considerations a monument sign involves.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Monument Signs configuration.
-
Match the Panel Size to Your Base Face and Zoning Limits
Measure the face opening of your monument base before you upload anything. Most residential and small commercial bases accept panels from 24 in x 18 in to 48 in x 36 in. But your local zoning ordinance sets the ceiling. Commercial monument signs typically cap at 6 ft to 8 ft above grade, so confirm that limit before you finalize panel height. Enter your exact measurements in the custom size field rather than rounding to the nearest standard size.
-
Single-Sided or Double-Sided Based on Your Driveway Layout
Single-sided panels work when traffic approaches from one direction and your sign face reads clearly from the street. Go double-sided if vehicles enter and exit through separate lanes, or if your sign sits at a two-way intersection where both faces get read. Double-sided panels add material cost but eliminate the need for two separate base installations, which costs more overall.
-
Name Panel or Multi-Tenant Directory for the Same Base
A name-and-logo panel suits single-tenant properties. A directory panel listing 4 or more tenants suits office parks and shopping centers. Worth knowing: directory layouts need base faces roughly 48 in wide or more to keep each tenant name readable at 20 ft to 40 ft. Confirm your base width before choosing the directory layout or you'll need a reprint.
-
Confirm Your Base Status Before You Place the Order
-
Base Already Built
Order your panel now. Share the anchor bolt pattern and face opening dimensions at checkout so the panel arrives drilled to match.
-
Base Not Yet Built
Hold the panel order until your masonry contractor sets the anchor bolts. The panel ships flat and stores easily, but the anchors must be cast into the base during construction. Give your contractor the panel dimensions before concrete cures or you'll need a second pour.
Pair it with
Complete the Property Entrance
Your monument panel marks the driveway. Custom Flags placed on either side add vertical movement that pulls eyes from the road before drivers reach the panel at ground level. An A-Frame Sign at the sidewalk edge gives pedestrians a second identity point at eye level without any base construction.
Extend the Identity Up the Building Facade
A monument sign handles the ground-level read. Custom Building Signs cover the facade above the entrance for drivers approaching from a longer distance. Custom Outdoor Signs handle wall-mounted or post-mounted identification at secondary entry points where a monument base is not practical.
Guide Visitors After They Pass the Monument
Once a visitor clears the entrance, the wayfinding system takes over. Custom Directional Arrow Signs route visitors from the driveway to the correct building or suite. Custom Directory Signs in the lobby list every tenant or department so the path from the road to the front desk stays unbroken.
Add Temporary Messaging Without Touching the Base
Seasonal promotions and event announcements change. Custom Banners hung on the building facade carry that messaging without altering the monument. Window Decals on storefront glass reinforce the same brand identity the monument sets at the road.
FAQs
Do I Need a Permit Before Ordering a Panel for My Business Entrance?
Most municipalities require a permit for any ground-mounted freestanding sign structure. The permit covers the base structure and its setback from the road, not the panel itself. Check with your local planning or zoning office before your contractor breaks ground. We produce the sign panel. The permit and base installation are your contractor's scope.
How Long Will the Printed Panel Hold Up Outdoors Before Colors Start to Fade?
Direct UV print (ink cured by ultraviolet light directly onto the panel surface) holds color and structural integrity for 5 or more years in direct sun, rain, and temperature swings. Indoors or under a covered entry, the panel lasts longer. No recurring cost, no replacement cycle tied to a seasonal schedule.
Can I Order Just the Sign Panel If My Monument Base Is Already Built?
Yes. We produce and ship the sign panel only. Your base structure stays exactly as built. Specify your face opening dimensions and anchor bolt spacing at checkout so your panel arrives pre-drilled and ready to mount without additional site work.
What File Format and Resolution Do I Need for a Sharp Print on a Large Entrance Panel?
Submit a PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI file in CMYK color mode. Minimum 150 DPI at final print size. For panels under 4 ft wide where viewers read from roughly 10 ft to 15 ft, 300 DPI gives you sharper edges on logos and finer text. Include 0.25 in bleed on all sides and keep logos and text inside a 0.5 in safe zone from the panel edge.
How Do I Confirm the Panel Will Fit My Existing Base Before It Ships?
Measure the face opening of your base (width and height) and the anchor bolt spacing. Enter those exact dimensions in the custom size field at checkout. We send a free digital proof within 24 hours showing the exact panel layout and hole positions. Approve the proof before production starts and you know the fit is correct before we print anything.
Get your artwork right
Resolution matters more than most buyers expect on a large entrance panel. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (vector) is the best choice for logos because it scales to any panel size without losing edge sharpness.
- Minimum resolution
- 150 DPI at final print size. For panels under 4 ft wide, where visitors read from roughly 10 to 20 ft away, 300 DPI keeps text crisp and logo edges clean.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all four sides. Keep logos and text inside a 0.5 in safe zone from the panel edge so nothing gets clipped at the mounting hardware.
- Color mode
- Submit files in CMYK, not RGB. Direct UV print outputs in CMYK, so submitting in RGB risks a color shift between your screen and the finished panel. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined) is how the printer reads your file, and it is what you see on the proof.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the panel face with a damp cloth and mild soap once or twice a year to remove road dust, pollen, and surface grime. The UV-cured print surface does not need wax or sealant to maintain color.
- Inspect the mounting hardware and anchor bolts once a year. Outdoor temperature swings can loosen fasteners over time, so tighten any loose bolts before the panel shifts position on the base. If the panel surface gets scratched or chipped from road impact, the UV print below the damage stays intact. Order a replacement panel using your original artwork file for a clean swap onto the existing base.
- Your monument base (concrete, stone, or brick) is maintained separately from the panel. Reseal concrete bases every 2 to 3 years if your climate includes freeze-thaw cycles. And follow standard masonry care for your specific base material between reseals.
