How to orderSpecifications
Custom Office Signs print on 3/16 in white foam core, a polystyrene foam center bonded between two smooth bright white paper faces. The result is a rigid, flat panel suited for indoor frames, wall mounts, and presentation displays. Here is what each panel includes.
- Material
- 3/16 in white foam core with a polystyrene center and smooth bright white paper faces.Holds its shape flat against a wall or inside a standard office frame without bowing.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print, ink applied to the foam core surface and cured instantly by ultraviolet light.Produces a scratch-resistant finish that does not smear or peel under normal indoor handling.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color using cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks across the entire face.Reproduces logos, photos, and text across the full visible color range on every panel.
- Finishing
- Flat panels ship with no laminate coating. Matte or gloss laminate is available at order for high-touch areas. The UV-cured surface resists light scuffing straight from production.
- Size Range
- Name plates start at roughly 4 in x 8 in. Room labels run up to 12 in x 18 in. Presentation boards reach up to 24 in x 36 in.Custom sizes are available beyond these standard office formats.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Indoor use only. UV print holds color for years under typical office fluorescent or LED lighting.Direct sun through a window will fade the surface faster than diffused indoor light.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided printing is standard for wall-mounted and framed signs. Double-sided is available for freestanding panels or corridor signs visible from both sides.
- Weight
- A 12 in x 18 in panel weighs roughly 3 to 4 oz.Light enough to mount with adhesive strips and simple to reposition without wall damage.

3/16 in Foam Core With Direct UV Print
Foam core runs a polystyrene center bonded between two smooth bright white faces at 3/16 in thick. That thickness gives each panel enough rigidity to stand upright in a standard office frame or mount flat against a wall without bowing. Thin, yes. But not flimsy. At A2Z Printing Hub, every panel goes through direct UV print (ink cured instantly by ultraviolet light), which locks the surface so it resists scratches under normal indoor handling.
Full-Color CMYK Output on Bright White Faces
CMYK output prints across the entire face of each panel using cyan, magenta, yellow, and black inks to reproduce the full visible color range. Department labels, name plates, and suite numbers all read crisp at arm's length because the bright white face gives ink nowhere to sink or shift. Bold text stays bold. Logos hold their exact color without muddying.
Lightweight Rigid Panels Ready for Frames or Wall Mount
Each panel weighs far less than aluminum or acrylic of the same size. A 12 in x 18 in foam core panel comes in at roughly 3 to 4 oz. That means you can swap signs in and out of standard office frames without tools or hardware. And because the surface is flat with no curl, adhesive strips hold it securely against drywall without drilling. Fast to mount. Easy to reposition.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Outdoor or semi-outdoor locations like covered entryways or parking structures will warp and fade foam core within weeks. Use Custom Outdoor Signs instead.
High-traffic lobby hero signs where visitors expect a dimensional, upscale look call for Acrylic Signs with standoff mounts.
Vehicle or equipment labeling needs adhesion and weather resistance that foam core cannot match. Magnetic Signs handle removable vehicle identification without any mounting hardware.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Office Signs configuration.
-
Matching a Full Office Floor With Consistent Name Plates and Room Labels
A unified office labeling system starts with one design template applied across every panel. Order all name plates and room labels together in a single batch. Consistent font, color, and size across 10 to 50 panels gives the floor a clean, coordinated look. Upload one master file and specify the variable text list for each panel so every sign reads the same way.
-
Choosing Between Foam Core and Acrylic for Your Office Environment
Here's the thing: foam core is not a compromise material. It handles framed name plates, adhesive-mounted room labels, and presentation boards well. But go with 1/4 in acrylic if your office has a lobby, boardroom, or reception desk where visitors form a first impression and a more substantial sign material matters. Foam core suits back-office and mid-floor applications. Acrylic suits the spaces people judge on sight.
-
When Foam Core Is the Right Call
Offices where signs sit in standard frames, lean on ledges, or mount with adhesive strips are a natural fit for foam core. Lightweight panels at 3 to 4 oz for a 12 in x 18 in size swap in and out without tools.
-
When to Step Up to Acrylic
Lobbies, boardrooms, and client-facing reception areas benefit from acrylic with standoff mounts. The floating, dimensional look foam core cannot match is worth the material difference in those rooms.
-
Deciding on Mounting Method Before You Order
Adhesive strips hold foam core panels up to 12 in x 18 in flat against drywall or painted surfaces without drilling. For larger panels or high-traffic doors, small screws through the face into a wall anchor give a more secure hold. Decide your mounting method before ordering so we can add pre-drilled holes if needed.
-
Ordering a Single Sign Versus a Full Office Signage Set
A single replacement sign ships in 1 to 2 business days at standard pricing. Sets of 10 or more panels qualify for volume pricing. If you're outfitting a new office floor or a full building suite, contact us before ordering so we can apply bulk rates to the whole set.
Pair it with
Complete the Office Identification System
Name plates and room labels cover individual spots, but a full office needs signs at every decision point. Add these to finish the job from the lobby corridor to each workstation.
Step Up the Material for Lobbies and Boardrooms
Foam core fits frames and interior corridors well. But a reception desk or boardroom entrance often calls for something with more visual weight.
Room-Specific Sign Pages Within the Same Office
Conference rooms and reception areas share the same design system as your foam core floor signs. Ordering these together keeps fonts, colors, and sizing consistent across the building.
Broader Indoor Applications Beyond Room Labels
Some interior projects go past individual name plates and need larger-format wall coverage or a general interior sign solution.
FAQs
Will Foam Core Office Signs Look Cheap Compared to Acrylic or Aluminum?
Not in the right setting. Foam core panels with UV-printed CMYK color read sharp and clean at arm's length, which covers most office environments: cubicle name plates, room labels, suite numbers, and corridor wayfinding. The material does not carry the weight of acrylic, but inside a standard office frame it looks intentional and consistent. Save acrylic for lobbies and boardrooms where material weight signals something to visitors.
How Do I Mount a Foam Core Sign Without Damaging the Wall?
Adhesive strips rated for smooth surfaces hold panels up to 12 in x 18 in flat against drywall or painted walls without drilling. For larger panels or doors that see regular contact, small screws through pre-drilled holes into wall anchors give a more secure hold. Let us know your mounting plan at order and we'll add pre-drilled holes to the panels before shipping.
Can I Reorder a Single Name Plate When Staff Changes?
Yes, and you don't need to reorder the whole set. Send us your original design file and the new name. We match the same font, color, and layout and ship the replacement in 1 to 2 business days. Worth knowing: saving your master template file makes every future reorder faster and keeps the full floor looking consistent.
How Long Will Printed Colors Hold Up Under Office Lighting?
UV-cured CMYK ink holds color for years under standard fluorescent or LED office lighting. Direct sun through a window is the one condition to avoid: sustained UV exposure will yellow the white face and fade colors faster than diffused indoor light. Position panels away from south-facing windows where sunlight hits the wall for more than a few hours each day.
Do Custom Office Signs Come With a Proof Before You Print?
Every order gets a free digital proof showing your exact layout, colors, text placement, and trim lines before we touch the press. Once you approve, production starts within 1 business day. If your file has a resolution or bleed issue, we flag it and wait for your go-ahead rather than printing a panel that will not look right.
Get your artwork right
Resolution determines how sharp your text and logos read at arm's length. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (vector format) is best for logos because it scales without losing edge clarity.
- Minimum resolution
- 150 DPI. For any sign under 18 in wide, 300 DPI is the right call. Viewers typically stand 2 to 4 ft from a name plate or room label, close enough to spot a soft edge on a logo or a blurry numeral.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. This gives us clean trim lines with no white border slipping through at the edge.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the trim edge. Anything closer risks getting clipped during cutting.
- Color mode
- Set your file to CMYK before exporting. RGB is a screen color model. CMYK matches how our UV press lays down ink, so the colors you see in your file come out as expected on the panel.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the printed face with a lightly damp cloth to remove dust or fingerprints. Do not use solvent-based cleaners or abrasive cloths. They will scratch the UV-cured surface and dull the finish.
- Keep panels away from prolonged direct sunlight, including strong sun through office windows. Sustained UV exposure yellows the white face and fades colors faster than diffused indoor light. Store spare panels flat. Stacking them on edge or leaning them at an angle for more than a few days causes the foam center to bow. Replace any panel where edge dents or surface scuffs affect readability.
