How to orderSpecifications
Custom Warehouse Signs are rigid indoor panels built for facilities where large, bold text needs to read clearly across a bay or aisle. Each sign runs on 3/16 in white foam core, a polystyrene center with smooth bright white faces. Best for aisle markers, zone labels, dock signs, and safety markings in dry indoor environments.
- Material
- 3/16 in white foam core with a polystyrene center and smooth bright white faces.Holds flat on walls, frames, and shelving uprights without bowing under typical indoor conditions.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print, where ink bonds to the surface and cures instantly under UV light.Gives you a scratch-resistant finish that does not smear or peel under normal indoor handling.
- Color Output
- CMYK full-color, combining cyan, magenta, yellow, and black to reproduce any color.Covers color-coded zone systems and safety color standards accurately across every panel in a set.
- Finishing
- Straight cut edges, standard. Panels arrive ready to mount with adhesive strips, screws, or a frame channel.
- Size Range
- Standard sizes are 12x18 in, 18x24 in, and 24x36 in. Custom sizes available for bay entrance and dock door signage.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Indoor use only. Not rated for prolonged outdoor exposure. Expected indoor life typically spans the full life of your facility layout.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided or double-sided printing available. Double-sided panels work for overhead aisle markers readable from both directions.
- Weight
- Very lightweight. A standard 18x24 in panel is easy for one person to carry and position across a full warehouse floor.

3/16 in Foam Core With Direct UV Print for Bold Indoor Readability
Foam core runs 3/16 in thick on every panel we cut. It's a rigid panel with a polystyrene center and smooth bright white faces. That thickness holds flat against a wall, post, or frame without bowing under normal indoor conditions. A2Z Printing Hub bonds ink directly to the surface using UV light, curing it instantly so text stays crisp through daily warehouse handling. Sturdy enough to stay flat. Light enough to swap in minutes.
CMYK Full-Color Output on a Bright White Face
CMYK prints directly onto the bright white face. That's cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined to reproduce any color in your design. Color-coded zone graphics and aisle numbers read boldly from across a warehouse bay. The white face acts as a natural base, keeping colors sharp without a separate coating step. Bold text. No muddy zones.
Here's the thing: most color-coding systems fail because the colors look similar under warehouse lighting. A direct UV print on a white face keeps each zone color distinct at 20 to 40 ft.
Lightweight Rigid Panels That Mount Fast in Any Zone
Each panel is light enough for one person to carry and mount without help. You need only a screw or adhesive strip (no power tools, no second crew member) to put a sign up. And when you're labeling 20 or more zones in a single session, that ease of setup cuts hours off your installation time. Fast to hang. Easy to replace when layouts shift.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Outdoor dock or yard signage exposed to rain or direct sun. Foam core is not rated for prolonged outdoor use. Aluminum Signs handle yard and dock perimeter locations where weather is a factor.
High-traffic spots where signs face regular scraping, bumping, or liquid splashes. Heavy PVC or Metal Signs hold up better in those conditions.
Vehicle or equipment labeling on forklifts or pallet jacks. Magnetic Signs work for removable vehicle labeling without adhesive residue.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Warehouse Signs configuration.
-
Matching Sign Size to Viewing Distance in Your Facility
Sightline is the first number to measure. For aisles and bay entrances read from 20 to 40 ft, use 18x24 in panels with letters at least 3 in tall. Workers pick up that text without breaking stride. For dock doors read from under 10 ft, a 12x18 in panel with 2 in letters covers weight limits and truck clearances clearly. Step up to 24x36 in with 4 in letters for wide-span bays where workers read from 35 ft or more. Measure your longest sightline in each zone before you pick a size.
-
Single-Sided Wall Mount Versus Double-Sided Overhead Hang
Wall-mounted panels cover roughly 80 percent of warehouse applications. Go single-sided unless your aisle is wide enough that workers approach from both directions simultaneously. Double-sided printing makes sense on 18x24 in or 24x36 in panels hung from overhead tracks or ceiling mounts. Single-sided is the right default for most zones.
-
Color-Coded Zone System Versus Single-Color Text Signs
Here's the thing: color-coded systems cut navigation time because workers read color before they read words. Receiving in blue, shipping in green, safety areas in red. That visual shortcut works across a facility with 20 or more zones. Upload your zone color map at checkout and we apply it consistently across every panel.
Single-color text works fine for small facilities with 5 or fewer zones where every worker already knows the floor layout.
-
When to Use Color Coding
Use a color-coded system any time your facility has 3 or more distinct operational zones. It costs nothing extra when you specify it upfront.
-
When Single-Color Text Is Enough
One department, one layout, fewer than 10 signs total. Bold black text on a bright white face reads cleanly and keeps the order simple.
-
One-Time Full Facility Order Versus Phased Zone Rollout
Ordering the full facility at once gives you consistent design across every panel and qualifies for volume pricing on 10 or more signs. But if your floor plan is still changing, order your permanent zones first. Add temporary zones in a second run once the layout is set. Foam core swaps out fast when a zone shifts.
Pair it with
Complete the Warehouse Signage System
Your zone panels identify each area. These products connect those zones and help workers move between them without guessing.
Tougher Materials for High-Traffic Spots
Foam core handles most indoor warehouse zones well. But near forklift lanes or splash zones, you'll want something harder.
Broader Facility Coverage
Once the warehouse floor is labeled, the rest of the building needs attention too. These cover entrances, parking areas, and exterior identification.
Ground-Level and General Interior Additions
Not every spot in a facility suits a wall-mounted panel. These fill the gaps where a mounted sign isn't practical or where coverage extends beyond the warehouse floor.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Not sure about your file? Use our free online design tool or ask about our professional design service.
- Accepted file formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, or JPG. AI (vector) files work best for logos and text-heavy signs because they stay sharp at any size. Raster files (PNG, JPG) need at least 150 DPI at final print size. For anything under 24 in wide where workers read from 5 to 10 ft away, go with 300 DPI so soft edges don't show.
- Bleed and safe zone
- include 0.25 in bleed on all four sides. Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the trim edge so nothing gets clipped when panels are cut to size.
- Color mode
- set all colors to CMYK before uploading. RGB is for screens. Our UV printer lays ink in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black), so converting before upload means the zone colors you see on screen match what comes off the press. This matters most for safety-standard reds, yellows, and greens.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the printed face with a lightly damp cloth to remove dust and surface grime. Avoid soaking the panel edges. Water that works into the edge seam can separate the foam core layers from the face over time, and that damage isn't reversible.
- Keep foam core signs away from direct water spray, steam, and high-humidity zones like wash-down areas. The material is rated for dry indoor environments only. Store unused or replacement panels flat on a shelf or pallet. Panels left leaning at an angle for more than a few days will bow, and a bowed panel won't sit flush on a wall mount.
- Replace any sign when edges show visible delamination or when text becomes hard to read from your standard viewing distance. Reordering with your saved file takes under 5 minutes.
