How to orderSpecifications
Custom Hotel Signs are rigid 3/16 in white foam core panels printed with full-color CMYK UV ink. Each panel uses a polystyrene core with smooth bright white faces. They cover every indoor hospitality signage need, from room numbers to lobby identification to conference center wayfinding.
- Material
- 3/16 in white foam core. Polystyrene core with bright white smooth faces, rigid enough to mount flat or sit in a standard frame without bowing.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print. Ink applies directly to the foam core surface and cures instantly, giving a scratch-resistant finish that does not peel or bubble.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color. Cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combine to reproduce your brand colors accurately across every panel in the order.
- Finishing
- Cut to size with clean straight edges. Panels sit flush in standard frames or mount flat with adhesive strips.
- Size Range
- Standard sizes include 16x24 in, 20x30 in, and 24x36 in. Custom dimensions are available for non-standard frame openings or door-mounted room number signs.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for indoor use only. Direct sun or moisture degrades the paper faces over time.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided or double-sided printing available. Double-sided suits freestanding directory frames visible from both sides.
- Weight
- Very lightweight. A 24x36 in panel weighs roughly a few ounces, making adhesive-strip mounting safe for lobby frames and wall displays.

3/16 in Foam Core Built for Indoor Hospitality Signage
Foam core runs 3/16 in thick on every panel we produce. It's a rigid panel with a polystyrene center and smooth bright white faces. That thickness gives each sign enough stiffness to sit in a standard frame or mount flat on a wall without bowing. Rigid. Lightweight. Ready to hang.
And because the faces are bright white, colors print sharp with no tint shift underneath. Room number signs, lobby identification panels, and directory boards all start from the same clean white base, so your brand colors land exactly as intended.
Full-Color CMYK UV Print Across Every Sign in the System
CMYK UV print uses a 4-color process: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combine, then cure instantly under UV light. That cure locks color across every panel in the order. Your lobby sign and your 40th-floor room number share the exact same brand colors. No drift between batches. No guessing on the 60th panel.
The UV cure also gives the surface a scratch-resistant finish that does not peel or bubble over time, which matters in corridors where guests brush past signs daily.
A2Z Printing Hub Handles Complete Property Sign Packages
A full property order covers lobby identification, room numbers, floor directories, pool rules, parking directionals, and conference center wayfinding. We produce all of it as one coordinated order, so your entire property ships together under a single proof approval. Upload your brand standards once. We apply them across every panel, every sign type, every floor.
Worth knowing: ordering 80 room number signs alongside your lobby panels costs less per unit than placing two separate orders.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Outdoor-facing signs exposed to rain, direct sun, or wind. Foam core is rated for indoor use only. Custom Outdoor Signs on weather-rated materials are the right call for exterior hotel signage.
High-traffic corridors that need signs lasting 5 or more years with daily wiping. Custom Metal Signs on .040 aluminum hold up longer under those conditions.
Short-term event or promotional messaging that needs to store flat in a tube. Custom Banners handle hospitality event announcements where the message changes week to week.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Hotel Signs configuration.
-
Single Sign Versus a Full Property System
A single lobby or amenity sign works fine as a one-off order. But if you need room numbers, floor directories, and wayfinding panels across the whole property, order everything together so colors and layouts match. Upload your brand standards once and we apply them across every panel. That one proof approval covers your entire system.
-
Size Matched to Viewing Distance
-
Door-Mounted Room Number Signs
Room number signs typically run 6 x 8 in to 8 x 10 in for door mounting. Guests reading a room number stand about 2 to 3 ft away, so digits need to be large enough to read at a glance without stepping closer.
-
Lobby and Directory Signs
Lobby identification and floor directory signs usually run 16 x 24 in to 24 x 36 in. Guests read these from roughly 10 to 15 ft, so letters need to be at least 1 in tall per 10 ft of viewing distance. Match the size to the frame opening or wall space before you upload your file.
-
Foam Core Versus a More Durable Indoor Material
Foam core is the right call for signs that live in frames, sit behind glass, or mount in low-traffic areas. For high-traffic corridors where signs get bumped or wiped down daily, consider Custom Metal Signs on .040 aluminum. That surface handles repeated cleaning without scratching or delaminating the way foam core faces can over time.
-
ADA Room Numbering Across All Guest Room Doors
ADA room numbering needs consistent sizing, high-contrast text, and placement at 60 in above the floor on the latch side of the door. Order all guest room door signs as a numbered set so every floor matches. Worth knowing: raised tactile lettering or Grade 2 Braille need a different production process entirely. Contact us before ordering so we route your job correctly from the start.
Pair it with
Complete the Property Wayfinding System
Foam core lobby and room signs cover identification, but guests still need to navigate between floors and amenity areas. These products close that gap.
Tougher Materials for High-Traffic Spots
Foam core is right for framed displays and low-contact areas. But corridors, exterior-facing doors, and parking lots need something harder.
Finish the Guest-Facing Lobby
A foam core wayfinding panel handles the functional message. These products add the branded layer guests notice first.
Temporary Messaging Alongside Permanent Signs
Room numbers and directories stay fixed for years. Event announcements, seasonal promotions, and conference branding change week to week.
FAQs
Will All 80 Room Number Signs in My Order Print With Matching Colors?
Yes. Full-color CMYK UV print (a 4-color process where ink cures instantly under UV light) locks color across every panel in the same order. Room 101 and room 312 print from the same color profile, so there is no visible shift between floors. You approve one proof that covers every sign type before we print a single panel.
Can I Order Non-Standard Sizes to Fit Existing Frames?
Custom dimensions are available alongside standard sizes of 16 x 24 in, 20 x 30 in, and 24 x 36 in. Enter your frame's interior opening when you place the order and we cut the panel to fit. This matters most for door-mounted room number signs, where frame openings across an older property are often not standard.
How Long Does Foam Core Hold Up on an Interior Hotel Wall?
Foam core holds up well in low-traffic framed applications, typically 1 to 3 years before edges or faces show wear. Signs in high-traffic corridors that get bumped or cleaned frequently will degrade faster. For areas with daily contact, Custom Metal Signs on .040 aluminum last significantly longer and handle repeated wiping without surface damage.
What Happens if a Sign Arrives Damaged or Does Not Match the Approved Proof?
We reprint and reship at no charge. The approved proof is the binding reference: if the delivered panel does not match it, that is our error to fix. Contact us with a photo of the issue and we start the reprint within 1 business day.
How Fast Can a Full Property Sign Package Ship?
Single signs and small batches run 1 to 2 business days in production. Multi-sign property packages of 20 or more panels typically run 3 to 5 business days depending on quantity. Shipping adds 1 to 5 business days depending on your location within the USA. And all orders ship from within the USA, so there is no international freight delay to plan around.
Get your artwork right
We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (vector) is the best choice for logos because it scales without losing sharpness at any sign size.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum, 300 DPI recommended at final print size. Room number signs with small digits read from about 2 to 3 ft, so 300 DPI is not optional on those. Soft edges show up at close range.
- Bleed and safe zone
- include 0.25 in bleed on all sides. Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the trim edge so nothing clips during cutting.
- Color mode
- set files to CMYK before uploading. RGB files shift in conversion and your brand colors may not come out as expected. CMYK matches how we print, so what you see on screen is what lands on the panel.
Worth knowing: our free online design tool works for single signs and small batches. For full property packages, our professional design service applies your brand standards across every sign type in one pass.
Upload your sign artwork and our team sends you a free digital proof showing the exact print layout and sizing within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the printed face with a lightly damp cloth to remove dust or fingerprints. Do not use abrasive cloths or scrubbing pads. They scratch the smooth white face and cannot be reversed.
- Keep foam core panels away from direct sunlight and moisture. Prolonged UV exposure yellows the white faces and weakens the panel over time. Store any unmounted panels flat. Stacking them on edge or leaning them at an angle for extended periods causes warping that won't correct itself.
- Replace panels that show edge damage, delamination (where the face paper lifts from the polystyrene core), or fading. Foam core is a budget indoor material and is not designed for indefinite use in high-traffic areas. Reordering a single replacement panel is straightforward since your approved file stays on record.
