How to orderSpecifications
Custom Truck Decals run on 4 mil white PVC calendar film with permanent adhesive, UV printed at 720 DPI minimum. They're built for truck door panels, tailgates, rear windows, and cab surfaces, and rated for 3 to 5 years of outdoor use.
- Material
- 4 mil white PVC calendar film. Matte finish. Conforms to flat and slightly curved truck surfaces without lifting at the edges.
- Print Method
- UV printed. Ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light for a scratch-resistant, waterproof surface that holds up under road conditions.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color at 720 DPI minimum. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) gives you sharp text and clean logo edges at typical truck viewing distances.
- Finishing
- Die-cut to custom shape. Kiss-cut on backing sheet so the decal peels cleanly without tearing the design.
- Size Range
- Custom sizes up to 58.5 in wide without a seam. Designs wider than 58.5 in ship in multiple pieces with alignment guides.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Outdoor rated 3 to 5 years. Resists water, scratches, direct sun, and road debris across all standard truck placements.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided. Adhesive on the back, printed face on the front. Not suited for window see-through applications.
- Adhesive Type
- Permanent adhesive. Bonds to painted metal, glass, and plastic. Removable with a heat gun and slow peeling without damaging factory paint finishes.

4 Mil White PVC With Permanent Adhesive Built for Truck Surfaces
4 mil white PVC calendar film (a thin but sturdy vinyl sheet rated for outdoor use) bonds to painted metal, glass, and plastic truck surfaces with permanent adhesive. It holds through car washes, road debris, and temperature swings. You get a decal that stays flat and tight for 3 to 5 years. Sharp edges. No lifting. The adhesive grips factory paint without damaging it on removal, so you're not choosing between a clean truck and a branded one.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Bold, Scratch-Resistant Color
UV printing (a process where ink cures instantly under ultraviolet light) runs at 720 DPI minimum on every order we produce. That means your logo, phone number, or tailgate graphic stays crisp and color-accurate from the first day on the road through years of direct sun. The cured ink surface resists scratches and water without a separate laminate layer on top. Bold color. No fading at 12 months. And it doesn't crack or smear under normal road conditions.
Die-Cut to Any Shape Up to 58.5 In Wide
Die-cut finishing (cut to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle) lets you match any logo shape or custom graphic. We go up to 58.5 in wide in a single piece. Designs wider than 58.5 in ship in multiple sections with alignment guides. Kiss-cut backing (cut through the vinyl only, leaving the backing sheet intact) makes peeling and applying the decal clean and straightforward, even solo on a large tailgate.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full truck wraps covering the entire vehicle surface. We print decals for specific placement areas. For full coverage, a local wrap installer is the right call.
Temporary truck signage that needs daily removal and reapplication. Magnetic Signs use no adhesive and pull off in seconds, making them the right swap here.
Rear window graphics where you need to see through the decal. Perforated Window Decals (70 percent print area, 30 percent holes) give you outside branding with inside visibility.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Truck Decals configuration.
-
Placement Determines Your Size and Shape
Measure the surface before you enter a custom size. Door panels on most full-size trucks run roughly 18 to 24 in tall and 30 to 48 in wide. That gives you room for a logo, business name, and phone number in a single decal. Tailgate graphics can run up to 58.5 in wide in one piece without a seam. Anything wider ships in multiple panels with alignment guides. Rear window placement works well for a website URL or phone number visible to drivers behind you in traffic. Start with a tape measure, not a guess.

Permanent Branding Versus Flexible Signage
-
Staying on the Truck All Season
Our 4 mil white PVC calendar film with permanent adhesive holds through car washes, road debris, and temperature swings for 3 to 5 years. That's the right call for branding that stays put: a business name on the door, a logo on the tailgate, contact info on the rear window.
-
Swapping Branding On and Off
Your truck doubles as a personal vehicle on weekends and you need to pull the branding off regularly. Permanent adhesive isn't the right fit for that. Go with Magnetic Signs instead. They attach with no adhesive and pull off in seconds, leaving zero residue on the paint.
-
Single Truck Versus Fleet Orders
For a single truck, order one set and use the free digital proof to confirm placement before committing to more. For fleet orders of 5 or more trucks, contact us about volume pricing before you place the order so the discount applies from the first unit. Consistent door and tailgate decals across 10 or more vehicles typically add 1 to 2 production days, so build that into your timeline.
Pair it with
When Your Truck Does Double Duty
Permanent adhesive decals stay put for 3 to 5 years. But some trucks go from job site to weekend use and back. Magnetic Signs attach to any flat door panel with no adhesive and pull off in seconds, leaving zero residue. Your personal truck goes unbranded on Saturday and back to work on Monday.
Brand Every Surface in One Order
Your door panels, tailgate, and rear window each carry a different piece of your contact info. Ordering matching designs across placements means every driver who sees your truck from any angle gets the full picture.
See-Through Rear Window Option
Standard opaque decals block the driver's sightline on rear glass. Perforated vinyl (70 percent print area, 30 percent holes) gives you bold outside branding while keeping inside visibility intact.
Match Your Truck to Your Storefront
Your truck runs your logo on the road. Custom Signs at your physical location use the same design files, so your building and your moving billboard read as one brand.
FAQs
Will the Adhesive Damage My Truck's Paint on Removal?
No, not on factory paint finishes. Apply low heat from a heat gun and peel slowly from one corner. Any adhesive residue that stays behind cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone without touching the paint underneath. That said, if your truck has a fresh repaint under 30 days old, wait before applying. New paint needs time to fully cure before permanent adhesive bonds to it safely.
How Long Do Custom Truck Decals Hold Up Through Car Washes and Road Conditions?
Our 4 mil white PVC calendar film is outdoor rated for 3 to 5 years. UV-cured inks resist fading, scratching, and water from day one. Wait 72 hours after application before running the truck through a wash, and avoid high-pressure spray directly on the decal edges for the first 2 weeks. After that, normal automatic car wash use is fine.
Can I Apply a Large Tailgate or Door Decal Myself Without Bubbles?
Most buyers apply their own decals without trouble. Kiss-cut backing (the vinyl is cut while the backing sheet stays intact) keeps the decal flat and easy to peel. Each order ships with transfer tape and written application instructions. For tailgate graphics up to 58.5 in wide, work from the center outward and use a squeegee to push air toward the edges. Bubbles that do not work out can be punctured with a pin and smoothed flat.
Do the Colors on Custom Truck Decals Fade After Months of Direct Sun?
UV printing locks the ink into the vinyl surface the moment it cures, so it does not sit on top where sun and heat can break it down. Colors stay accurate and readable through roughly 3 to 5 years of direct outdoor exposure under normal road conditions. Reds and yellows, which typically fade fastest on cheaper materials, hold well on 720 DPI UV output.
How Do I Order the Same Decal Design Across Multiple Fleet Trucks?
Upload your design file once and enter your total quantity in the configurator. The price per unit drops as quantity goes up, and you can see that in real time before checkout. For fleet orders of 5 or more trucks, contact us about volume pricing before placing the order so the discount applies from unit one. Orders of 10 or more vehicles typically add 1 to 2 production days.
Get your artwork right
Resolution makes or breaks a die-cut truck decal. We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. AI (vector format) is the right choice for logos because it scales to any size without losing edge sharpness.
- Minimum resolution
- 150 DPI. For decals under 4 ft where someone standing next to your truck reads the design up close, 300 DPI keeps text and logo edges crisp rather than soft.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. This extra border prevents white slivers at cut edges.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge so nothing trims too close.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK is the 4-color process our UV printers actually use, so your screen colors match your printed output. RGB files shift on press.
Use our free online design tool with truck placement templates if you're starting from scratch. Our optional design service handles it for you. Submit your artwork on a transparent background for die-cut decals and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying the decal before washing the truck. The permanent adhesive needs that window to fully bond to painted metal, glass, or plastic. For the first 2 weeks, hand wash around the decal edges and avoid high-pressure spray directly on the vinyl. After 2 weeks, normal automatic car wash use is fine.
- Clean the decal face with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based products, or wax directly on the printed surface, as these break down the UV-cured ink layer over time. To remove, apply low heat from a heat gun and peel slowly from one corner. Adhesive residue cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone without harming factory paint.
