4 Mil PVC Calendar Film With Permanent Adhesive
4 mil white PVC calendar film (a thin, sturdy vinyl rated for outdoor use) bonds to painted metal, carbon fiber, and aluminum frame tubes with permanent adhesive. Your graphics stay flat and tight through roughly 3 to 5 years of riding. Thin enough to conform to slightly curved surfaces. Tough enough to take road spray, grit, and direct sun without lifting at the edges.
UV Printing at 720 DPI Minimum for Crisp Color Output
UV printing cures ink instantly under ultraviolet light, locking in full-color CMYK output at 720 DPI minimum. Bold colors and crisp edges do not fade or scratch off under direct sun or road spray. A2Z Printing Hub runs every bike decal order through this process, so the red in your logo looks the same after 200 wet rides as it did on day one. Sharp output. Every order.
Die-Cut to Any Shape With Kiss-Cut Backing Sheet
Die-cut finishing cuts the vinyl to the exact outline of your design rather than a standard rectangle. Kiss-cut backing (cut through the vinyl layer only, leaving the backing sheet intact) lets you peel and place each piece cleanly without tearing. And because the backing stays in one piece, your decal ships flat without the edges curling or sticking together in transit.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Full bike wrap coverage over every surface of the frame, fork, and components is not something flat die-cut decals handle well. A local wrap installer with heat-forming tools is the right call for that level of coverage.
Temporary graphics that change per event, like race number plates, need a removable option. Magnetic Signs work on flat metal surfaces and peel off cleanly with zero residue.
Window or glass surfaces on a bike shop storefront are a different job entirely. Window Decals with perforated vinyl handle one-way visibility on glass.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Bike Decals configuration.
-
Placement on the Frame Determines Your Size and Shape
Down tube and seat tube panels are the largest flat areas on most bike frames, typically 4 in to 10 in long depending on frame size. Start there for your primary logo or name, then add smaller accent pieces to the fork or chainstay. Smaller frames on 20 in to 26 in kids' bikes have tighter panels, so size down to 2 in to 4 in for a clean fit. Upload your artwork on a transparent background and we cut to the exact outline.
-
Standard White PVC Versus Reflective Vinyl for Night Riding
Standard 4 mil white PVC gives you accurate CMYK color and crisp edges for daytime visibility. But if you ride before sunrise or after sunset, go with reflective vinyl instead. Reflective material bounces headlight beams back toward the source, making the frame visible from roughly 300 ft in low light. Choose reflective under Custom Reflective Bicycle Decals when night safety matters.
-
Single Decal Versus a Matched Set Across Multiple Bikes
For one bike, order a single set of die-cut decals sized to your frame. For 5 or more bikes, order in bulk. Quantity discounts apply at 10 or more units, and consistent sizing across a fleet keeps branding uniform. Contact us before placing a fleet run so we can confirm sizing templates match across all frames.
-
Business Branding Versus Personal Rider Graphics
-
Business Owners
Place the logo and phone number on the down tube where it faces traffic at eye level on a cargo or commuter bike. A die-cut shape cut to your logo outline reads sharper than a rectangular panel at close range.
-
Personal Rider Graphics
Any placement works. Name lettering, team colors, and number plates all cut cleanly from 4 mil PVC. Upload your artwork as a PDF or AI file on a transparent background for the cleanest die-cut result.
Pair it with
Finish the Rider's Full Branding Kit
Frame decals cover the down tube, but the helmet is the next most visible surface on a moving bike. Helmet Decals use the same 4 mil PVC and die-cut process, so your logo reads consistently at eye level whether the rider is stopped or rolling. For delivery bike operators who sometimes use the bike for personal trips, Magnetic Signs offer a removable panel option that leaves zero adhesive residue. - Helmet Decals - Magnetic Signs
Step Up Visibility After Dark
Standard white PVC reads well in daylight. For riders who commute before sunrise or after sunset, Custom Reflective Bicycle Decals use engineer-grade reflective vinyl instead of standard PVC. That material bounces light back toward its source, making the frame visible from roughly 300 ft in low light. - Custom Reflective Bicycle Decals
Same Frame Placement, Different Search
Custom Bicycle Frame Decals and Custom Bicycle Decals target the same tube-level placement with slightly different sizing templates. Worth checking both pages if you're ordering for a fleet and need to match frame geometry across different bike models. - Custom Bicycle Frame Decals - Custom Bicycle Decals
Complete the Business Owner's Storefront Setup
Branded bikes on the road are one touchpoint. Window Decals cover the storefront glass with matching brand colors. Custom Signs handle permanent exterior signage at the shop entrance, tying the in-store look to the bikes rolling out the door. - Window Decals - Custom Signs
FAQs
Will the Adhesive Hold on a Curved Bike Frame Tube Without Lifting at the Edges?
4 mil PVC calendar film is thin enough to conform to slightly curved surfaces like round frame tubes without lifting at the edges under normal riding conditions. Clean the frame surface with isopropyl alcohol before applying, press firmly from the center outward, and the permanent adhesive bonds flat. Avoid applying in temperatures below 50°F, where adhesive takes longer to fully seat.
Can I Remove Bike Decals Later Without Damaging the Frame Paint?
You can remove them cleanly from factory paint finishes. Apply low heat from a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining adhesive residue wipes off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone without harming the paint. That said, do not apply to freshly painted frames under 30 days old, where paint has not fully cured.
How Long Do Bike Decals Last Through Rain, Mud, and Regular Washing?
UV-printed 4 mil PVC is outdoor rated for 3 to 5 years under normal riding conditions. That covers rain, road grime, mud, and regular hand washing with mild soap. Avoid solvent-based degreasers or abrasive cleaners directly on the decal surface, which can break down the UV-cured ink layer faster.
Do I Get to See the Exact Shape and Size Before You Print Anything?
Yes. We send a free digital proof showing the exact die-cut outline, dimensions, and color layout within 24 hours of your order. Production does not start until you approve it. If the shape or sizing is off, we adjust the proof at no charge before running the job.
What File Format Works Best for a Die-Cut Bike Decal With a Complex Logo Shape?
PDF and AI files give us the cleanest die-cut lines on complex logo shapes. Upload your artwork on a transparent background so we cut around the exact design outline, not a white rectangle. PNG at 300 DPI at final print size also works well for detailed graphics. JPG is acceptable but can introduce edge compression artifacts on intricate shapes.
Get your artwork right
Custom bike decals are die-cut to your exact design outline. That means file setup matters more here than it does for a standard rectangle decal.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, AI, PNG, JPG. Vector files (PDF or AI) are best for logos with complex shapes because edges stay sharp at any size, not just at screen resolution.
- Resolution
- 300 DPI at final print size is recommended. 150 DPI is the floor. Anything softer than 150 DPI risks a blurry edge on the cut line, which shows up most on lettering under 1 in tall.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides. This gives the cutter room to trim without clipping your design.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from the cut edge. Curved frame tubes flex slightly, and content too close to the edge can disappear behind a tube weld.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. RGB is for screens. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) is how we print, so switching to CMYK before upload keeps your colors accurate between screen and decal.
For die-cut decals, upload your artwork on a transparent background so we cut around the design outline, not a white rectangle. Use our free online design tool at checkout, or send a rough logo file and our design service builds a frame-ready layout for you. Submit your artwork on a transparent background and our team sends you a free digital proof within 24 hours.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wait 72 hours after applying your decal before washing the bike. This gives the permanent adhesive time to fully bond to the frame surface. Hand wash around the decal area for the first 2 weeks, and don't aim a high-pressure hose directly at the edges during this period.
- After the first 2 weeks, normal washing is fine. Clean with mild soap and water. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvent-based degreasers, or wax directly on the decal surface, as these break down the UV-printed ink layer over time.
- For removal, apply low heat from a heat gun or hair dryer to soften the adhesive, then peel slowly from one corner. Any remaining adhesive residue cleans off with rubbing alcohol or Goo Gone without harming factory paint.
