How to orderSpecifications
Custom Automotive Transportation Banners print in full-color CMYK on PVC Flex vinyl built for dealership lots, service centers, and transportation facilities. Two weights cover two very different jobs: 11 oz for indoor showrooms, 16 oz for open-lot fencing and perimeter displays that face sustained wind and direct sun.
- Material
- PVC Flex vinyl. A smooth, glossy surface that resists moisture and holds its shape under tension outdoors.
- Print Method
- Eco-solvent or UV inkjet. Weather-resistant inks bond directly to the vinyl surface so color holds through rain and heat.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color. The 4-color process (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) covers the full banner face and matches most brand colors.
- Finishing
- Brass grommets every 2 ft. Pole pockets along top or bottom edge. Hem and heat weld seals edges with heat for a clean, reinforced finish.
- Size Range
- 4 ft x 8 ft up to 4 ft x 20 ft for lot perimeter and large-format dealership use. Custom sizing available beyond standard dimensions.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Outdoor rated 6 to 12 months with UV-resistant inks in direct sun. Indoor use extends life well beyond 12 months.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided is standard. Double-sided uses a blockout layer (a white layer between front and back prints) that prevents show-through on road-facing displays.
- Weight
- 11 oz for indoor showroom and light-duty use. 16 oz for heavy-duty outdoor lot fencing with sustained wind exposure.

- Brass Grommets Every 2 ft for Fence-Line and Perimeter Mounting
Lot-Scale Sizing With Welded Seams on Banners Over 10 ft
Banners wider or taller than 10 ft get a heat-welded seam. That's a reinforced join bonding two vinyl panels into one flat, tight piece. A 4 ft x 20 ft lot-perimeter display arrives ready to mount, not as two loose sheets you have to align on a chain-link fence. Bold text and price callouts stay crisp across the full face because the join sits under tension, not against it.
16 oz PVC Flex Vinyl That Holds Flat on Open-Lot Fencing
PVC Flex vinyl runs 11 oz for indoor showroom use or 16 oz for heavy-duty outdoor lot fencing. It's a smooth, glossy surface that holds its shape under tension. The 16 oz weight is the heaviest we carry. It resists sagging and tearing on open dealership lots where wind hits the banner face from multiple directions across a full season. And because the surface stays smooth under tension, your sale messaging reads sharp at distance without buckling or rippling. Color durability sits at 6 to 12 months outdoors with UV-resistant inks.
Brass Grommets Every 2 ft for Fence-Line and Perimeter Mounting
Brass grommets punch into the reinforced hem every 2 ft along all edges. You get a tie point at every interval for zip ties, bungee cords, or rope. A 4 ft x 20 ft banner gets roughly 22 grommets total, so every section of the banner stays taut against chain-link fencing through sustained wind. A2Z Printing Hub sets the grommet spacing at 2 ft as standard on every order, so you don't have to request it separately.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Personal vehicle celebrations like a new car reveal party at home belong on Event Banners, which offer occasion-specific templates sized for home setups.
Signage intended to last beyond 12 months outdoors is better served by Custom Metal Signs, which hold up without seasonal replacement.
Graphics on the cars themselves, whether window or body panel, call for Custom Vehicle Decals rather than a mounted vinyl banner.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Automotive Transportation Banners configuration.
-
Outdoor Lot Fencing Versus Indoor Showroom Display
Open dealership lots expose banners to sustained wind, UV, and temperature swings across a full season. Go with 16 oz PVC Flex vinyl for any fence-mounted or perimeter display. For an indoor showroom above a featured vehicle, 11 oz hangs lighter and lies flat without the stiffness of heavier outdoor vinyl. Pick your location first, then select the weight.
-
Single Large Banner Versus Multi-Banner Perimeter Run
A single 4 ft x 20 ft banner covers roughly 20 linear ft of fence in one piece. For a full lot perimeter of 100 ft or more, you'll need 5 or more banners. But ordering 10 or more units at once unlocks volume discounts and keeps per-unit cost lower than single-banner pricing. Use the configurator to set your quantity before checkout.
-
Standard Size Versus Custom Large-Format With Seam
Banners up to 10 ft in both width and height print as a single unjoined sheet. Any banner where width or height exceeds 10 ft gets a heat-welded seam that bonds two vinyl panels into one flat display. For a 4 ft x 20 ft lot banner, plan for one seam and position your text so it doesn't land directly on the join line.
-
Single-Sided Fence Mount Versus Double-Sided Road-Facing Display
A single-sided banner works for fence lines where traffic passes on one side only. Road-facing displays where drivers approach from both directions need double-sided with a blockout layer (a white layer between front and back prints). Each face prints fully opaque without bleed-through. Add double-sided in the configurator before uploading your file.
Pair it with
Add Street-Level Visibility at the Lot Entrance
Your fence banner covers the perimeter, but drivers approaching the entrance need a second signal before they turn in. Custom Flags planted at the curb give the lot a second layer of bold, moving visibility that fence-line vinyl cannot replicate at street level.
Lighter Options for the Indoor Showroom
A 16 oz outdoor banner is too stiff for an interior display above a featured vehicle. Custom Vinyl Banners at 11 oz hang flat under showroom lighting without the rigidity of heavy outdoor vinyl.
Different Sizes for Different Lot Zones
A 4 ft x 8 ft banner covers a single bay entrance or a short fence section cleanly. A 4 ft x 20 ft banner runs a full lot perimeter section in one piece. Ordering both sizes in a single bulk run keeps your per-unit cost lower across every zone.
Permanent and Vehicle-Level Branding Beyond the Fence
Seasonal vinyl works for sale events and service specials. The dealership itself needs signage that outlasts any single campaign. Custom Vehicle Decals and Window Decals brand the cars at the body panel and glass level, completing the lot from fence line down to vehicle.
FAQs
A 4 ft x 20 ft Banner on Chain-Link Fence: Will It Stay Flat Through Sustained Wind?
Here's the thing: the grommets do most of the work. Brass grommets punch into the reinforced hem every 2 ft along all edges. That gives you a tie point at every interval for zip ties, bungee cords, or rope. On 16 oz vinyl, that combination holds flat against chain-link fencing through weeks of open-lot wind without pulling loose or sagging at the corners. The lighter 11 oz weight is not built for that load, so stick with 16 oz for any unsheltered fence-line mount.
How Long Do Colors Hold on an Open Dealership Lot in Direct Sun?
Eco-solvent or UV inkjet inks bond directly to the vinyl surface and resist fading through rain, heat, and direct sun. On 16 oz vinyl outdoors, colors typically hold 6 to 12 months in direct sun before you'd notice any visible shift. Indoor use extends that well beyond 12 months. Bold text and high-contrast layouts read the clearest the longest, so avoid thin reversed type on dark backgrounds if longevity matters.
Ordering 10 or More Banners for a Full Perimeter Run: What's the Timeline?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Bulk orders of 10 or more banners typically add 1 to 2 additional business days in production. And volume discounts kick in automatically at 10 units on a single order, so a full lot perimeter run costs less per banner than ordering them one at a time. Order before 12 PM EST and production starts the same day your proof is approved.
What Happens if My Banner Arrives With a Print Defect or Wrong Colors?
We reprint it at no charge. Your banner doesn't go into production until you approve the free digital proof, so color and layout are confirmed before we print. But if something goes wrong in production and the finished banner doesn't match your approved proof, contact us and we send a replacement. No forms, no hassle.
Do I Need Print-Ready Artwork, or Can You Build the Layout for Me?
You don't need a finished file to order. A free online design tool is available at checkout where you can build a layout using your dealership logo, sale copy, and brand colors. Or, a professional design service is available if you'd rather hand off the layout entirely. Upload a print-ready PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI file if you already have one.
Get your artwork right
File format matters before anything else. Submit your artwork as a PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI file. AI (vector format) works best for logos because it scales to any banner size without losing edge sharpness.
Worth knowing: if you're building a 4 ft x 20 ft banner with a heat-welded seam, position your text so it doesn't land directly on the join line.
- Resolution
- minimum 150 DPI, recommended 300 DPI. For banners under 4 ft where customers walk up close, 150 DPI shows soft edges at that distance. 300 DPI keeps lines crisp.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in beyond the trim line on all four sides. This prevents a white border from appearing after cutting.
- Safe zone
- keep all text and logos 0.5 in inside the trim line. Anything outside that boundary risks getting clipped at finishing.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, black) is the 4-color process we print with, so colors built in CMYK come out on vinyl matching what you see on screen. RGB files shift during conversion.
No print-ready file? Use the free online design tool at checkout to build your layout from your dealership logo, sale copy, and brand colors. Our professional design service handles the full layout if you need it built from scratch.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the vinyl surface with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove dirt, bird droppings, or road dust. Do not use abrasive cleaners or a pressure washer directly on the printed face.
- Do not fold vinyl banners for storage. Rolling them loosely with the printed face outward prevents crease lines that crack the ink layer over time. Store rolled banners in a cool, dry place away from direct sun between uses. But if a crease forms during transport, lay the banner flat in direct sunlight for roughly 30 minutes and the vinyl typically relaxes on its own.
