How to orderSpecifications
Custom Restaurant Banners print on PVC Flex vinyl in 11 oz or 16 oz, built for food-service signage that mounts indoors or outdoors. These banners handle everything from window-facing menu specials to exterior grand opening displays. Here's the thing: the right weight and finishing choice makes every install faster and every banner last longer.
- Material
- PVC Flex vinyl.Smooth, glossy surface holds ink evenly and resists moisture better than paper or fabric alternatives.
- Print Method
- Eco-solvent or UV inkjet.Weather-resistant inks bond directly to the vinyl surface and hold color outdoors for roughly 6 to 12 months.
- Color Output
- CMYK full color (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined).Matches most brand colors within the standard printing gamut, consistently across every reorder.
- Finishing
- Brass grommets every 2 ft. Pole pockets and hem-and-heat-weld (folded, heat-sealed edges) are also available.Grommets give the most mounting flexibility for window frames, railings, and rope lines.
- Size Range
- 2 ft x 4 ft for window displays up to large-format custom dimensions.Banners wider or taller than 10 ft include a welded seam to hold the full span flat.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Rated for both indoor and outdoor use.Outdoor banners typically last 6 to 12 months. Indoor banners last longer because they avoid direct sun and rain.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Single-sided is standard. Double-sided uses a blockout liner (a white layer between front and back prints) to prevent show-through.Most restaurant window and storefront applications need single-sided only.
- Weight
- 11 oz for indoor and light-duty outdoor use. 16 oz for heavy-duty outdoor mounting where wind load or long-term exposure is a factor.Pick your weight based on where the banner mounts, then configure from there.

Food-Service Messaging on Tough PVC Flex Vinyl
PVC Flex vinyl (a smooth, glossy outdoor material) takes ink cleanly through heat, humidity, and direct sun. Your happy hour promo or grand opening message stays crisp through the full run. Two weights cover two very different jobs: 11 oz for indoor dining room displays and light window use, 16 oz for storefront and sidewalk mounting where wind and weather are constant. And because restaurant banners rotate every 4 to 8 weeks, the material holds up through the full promo cycle without fading before you're ready to swap it out.
Brass Grommets and Welded Edges Built for Storefront Mounting
Brass grommets (small metal rings punched into the banner edges) are spaced every 2 ft along heat-welded hems. Each banner gets a solid hang point that does not pull loose under tension. Heat-welded edges (where the border is folded and sealed with heat) reinforce the perimeter so the vinyl does not fray at the corners over repeated installs. Tying to a railing, clipping to a window frame, or running rope across a facade, each grommet holds without stretching the material around it. A2Z Printing Hub also offers pole pockets and hem-only finishing if your mounting setup calls for a rod or frame instead.
Free Digital Proof Before a Single Banner Goes to Print
A free digital proof reaches your inbox within 24 hours of your order. Nothing prints until you approve the layout, colors, and text. Worth knowing: this step is where most color mismatches get caught before they cost you a reprint. You can check every detail, request changes, and approve on your own schedule. Sharp colors. Done right the first time.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
Personal birthday or anniversary celebrations with no food-service tie-in belong on Event Banners, which carry occasion-specific templates and sizing built for that context.
Signage lasting beyond 12 months outdoors needs a more durable material. Custom Metal Signs hold up longer without a replacement cycle.
Generic storefront promotions with no restaurant context fit better under Custom Vinyl Banners, where material choice drives the decision rather than industry.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Restaurant Banners configuration.
-
Mounting Location Determines Vinyl Weight
Where the banner hangs tells you which weight to order. Indoor dining room displays and window-facing specials work well on 11 oz PVC Flex vinyl. It's lighter, costs less per square foot, and holds up fine away from wind and rain.
Outdoor storefronts, sidewalk-facing facades, and drive-through lanes need 16 oz. The heavier weight stays flat under wind load and holds ink through heat and humidity without sagging or peeling.
-
Banner Size Depends on Viewing Distance and Wall Space
A 2 ft x 4 ft banner fills a standard restaurant window without blocking the view from inside. For a storefront facade, a 3 ft x 6 ft banner reads clearly from the sidewalk at roughly 20 to 25 ft.
Here's the thing: letter height matters as much as banner size. Use 1 inch of letter height for every 10 ft of viewing distance so your menu special or happy hour time is readable before a customer reaches the door.
-
Finishing Choice Depends on How You Plan to Hang It
Grommets (brass rings punched every 2 ft along the hemmed edge) fit most restaurant setups: window frames, storefront railings, and rope lines. Pole pockets work for banners that slide onto a horizontal rod above a doorway or along a dining room wall.
And if you're not sure, order grommets. They give you the most mounting flexibility across different locations.

Reorder Frequency Affects How You Set Up Your Artwork Files
Most restaurant owners rotate specials every 4 to 8 weeks. That reorder cycle adds up fast if you redesign each time. Save your approved artwork as a print-ready PDF after the first order.
Each reorder, upload the saved file, approve the proof, and go straight to production. You skip the design step entirely and cut your turnaround down to the production window alone.
Pair it with
Cover the Sidewalk While the Banner Works the Facade Above
Your storefront banner fills the wall above the entrance. An A-Frame Sign sits at curb level and catches customers before they reach the door, giving you two visibility layers from street to threshold.
Pull Eyes from Down the Block Before They Read the Banner
Custom Flags planted near the parking lot edge or entrance post move in the wind. They draw attention from roughly 30 to 40 ft away, before a customer is close enough to read your specials text.
Swap to Fabric When the Display Moves Indoors
Vinyl works outdoors, but above the bar or host stand, glare under restaurant lighting is a real problem. Fabric Banners drape smooth with zero glare and suit indoor dining rooms better than vinyl at the same size.
Handle Long-Term Branding That Outlasts a Seasonal Banner
Rotating specials need a fast reorder cycle. But your hours, logo wall, or permanent menu board do not. Custom Signs in metal or acrylic handle indoor branding that stays up for years without replacement.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
We accept PDF, PNG, JPG, and AI files. Vector formats like AI keep logos sharp at any size because they scale without losing edge definition, unlike raster images that soften when enlarged.
- Color mode
- Submit files in CMYK (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black combined), not RGB. RGB is a screen color system. CMYK is how we print, so what you see in your file matches what comes off the press.
- Bleed and safe zone
- Add 0.25 in of extra artwork beyond the trim line on all four sides. Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in inside the trim line. Anything closer risks getting clipped during finishing.
Resolution matters at close viewing distances. Set your file to at least 150 DPI, but aim for 300 DPI on banners under 4 ft. That's where customers stand close enough to notice a soft edge on a logo or menu item name.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe your vinyl banner with a damp cloth and mild soap to remove grease, food residue, or outdoor grime. Do not machine wash. Vinyl does not tolerate the agitation, and the print surface can degrade in a wash cycle.
- Roll the banner around a tube for storage rather than folding it. Folds create crease lines that don't fully relax and can distort the printed image over time.
- Store rolled banners in a cool, dry place away from direct sun. If a crease forms, lay the banner flat in direct sunlight for about 30 minutes. The vinyl typically relaxes and smooths out on its own.
