How to orderSpecifications
Custom Safety Warning Signs run on .040 aluminum with direct UV print, built for hazard-specific workplace warnings indoors and out. This is a rigid, rust-proof substrate rated for 5 or more years in direct sun and weather. It doesn't flex, warp, or need seasonal treatment.
- Material
- .040 aluminum, roughly 1mm thick, rust-proof and rigid.Holds its shape on a wall, post, or equipment frame without warping over time.
- Print Method
- Direct UV print, ink bonded and cured instantly on the metal surface.Gives you a scratch-resistant, waterproof finish that won't peel or bubble.
- Color Output
- Full color across the sign face with OSHA and ANSI orange or yellow triangle headers and bold black text.Sharp contrast keeps hazard messages readable at a distance.
- Finishing
- Straight or rounded corners available. Pre-drilled holes for screw or bolt mounting. No additional hardware included unless specified at order.
- Size Range
- 12x18 in, 18x24 in, and 36x24 in.Covers equipment-level mounting up to large-area multi-hazard displays.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating

.040 Aluminum With Direct UV Print for Hazard-Specific Warnings
.040 aluminum forms the base of every sign we build. Roughly 1mm thick, it's the same rigid metal used on commercial road signs. Direct UV print bonds ink directly to the metal surface and cures instantly under UV light, giving you a scratch-resistant, waterproof finish. Holds color outdoors for 5 or more years without rusting. No peeling, no bubbling.
A2Z Printing Hub runs this same substrate across our full safety sign line because it doesn't warp on a wall mount, an equipment frame, or a post in direct sun.
OSHA and ANSI Orange or Yellow Triangle Format Built In
Our templates follow OSHA and ANSI Z535 conventions with orange or yellow triangle headers and bold black text. That's the national standard governing hazard sign color and layout. Workers and inspectors already recognize this format for hazards like high voltage, chemical storage, pinch points, and forklift traffic. So your signs read instantly at a distance, exactly the way compliance requires.
Three Sizes, Single or Double Sided, Straight or Rounded Corners
Three standard sizes cover the full range: 12x18 in for equipment-level and door mounting, 18x24 in for wall-mounted area warnings, and 36x24 in for large-area or multi-hazard displays. Single or double sided. Straight or rounded corners. Pick your corner style to match the mounting hardware your facility already uses.

How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Safety Warning Signs configuration.
-
Matching the Right Size to the Mounting Location
Size follows viewing distance. A 12x18 in sign fits equipment frames, machine guards, and door panels where workers read it from within roughly 10 ft. Go with 18x24 in for wall-mounted area warnings that need to read clearly from 15 to 20 ft away. Use 36x24 in at large bay entries, aisle intersections, or multi-hazard zones where the sign must read from across a floor.
Bigger is not always better. A 36x24 in sign bolted to a machine frame looks wrong and mounts awkwardly. Match the size to the space.
-
Choosing Single-Sided or Double-Sided Based on Viewer Approach
Single-sided works for any sign mounted flat against a wall, post, or equipment face where workers approach from one direction only. Choose double-sided for corridor or aisle mounting where traffic moves in both directions. But here's the thing: double-sided costs more and adds slight weight, so do not default to it unless your layout genuinely has two-direction foot traffic.
-
Confirming the OSHA or ANSI Severity Level Before Ordering
-
Warning vs. Caution vs. General Safety
Warning level (orange or yellow triangle header, bold black text) covers hazards with potential for serious injury: high voltage, chemical exposure, pinch points, forklift traffic. That is this product. If the hazard is lower severity (wet floor, low clearance), order Custom Caution Signs instead. For broad awareness messaging with no specific hazard named, Custom Safety Signs cover that category.
Ordering the wrong severity level is not a minor detail. An inspector checking ANSI Z535 will flag a caution-level sign where a warning-level sign belongs.
-
Deciding Between Straight and Rounded Corners for Your Mounting Hardware
Rounded corners reduce sharp edges on signs mounted at shoulder height or lower. That matters in tight machine areas where workers brush past regularly. Straight corners are fine for high-wall or ceiling-adjacent mounting where contact is unlikely.
Pick your corner style in the configurator before uploading your design. Pre-drilled holes are included on both options for screw or bolt mounting.
Pair it with
Complete the OSHA and ANSI Severity Range
Warning signs cover hazards with serious injury potential. But a fully compliant facility needs all three severity levels covered. Custom Safety Signs handle general awareness messaging like hard hat areas and authorized personnel zones. Custom Caution Signs cover lower-severity alerts like wet floors and low clearance where the ANSI caution level applies.
Add Night Visibility to Hazard-Facing Signs
Any warning sign at a loading dock entry or forklift crossing benefits from reflective sheeting. Add it and the sign reads clearly in headlights from roughly 500 ft. Custom Reflective Signs use the same .040 aluminum base with engineer-grade reflective coating layered over the print.
Cover the Perimeter Before the Hazard Zone
Warning signs mark the specific hazard inside. Custom No Trespassing Signs post at the facility boundary so unauthorized visitors do not reach the hazard area in the first place.
Reinforce Wall-Mounted Signs at Floor Level
Custom Decals add floor-level safety markings inside the same facility. Custom Banners work for temporary hazard zones during construction phases where the risk changes week to week.
FAQs
Do Your Signs Follow OSHA and ANSI Z535 Color and Format Conventions?
Yes. Our templates are built to OSHA and ANSI Z535 conventions, meaning orange or yellow triangle headers with bold black hazard text on a white field. These are the color and format rules inspectors and workers already recognize for serious-injury hazards. You customize the hazard text. The format structure comes pre-built.
Will the Orange or Yellow Triangle Header Print Accurately, or Will the Color Shift?
Color accuracy on warning signs is not something we leave to chance. We print full color using direct UV, with ink bonded directly to the .040 aluminum surface and cured instantly. CMYK color mode is calibrated for ANSI orange and yellow. You'll see the exact triangle color on your free digital proof before anything goes to print, so you can flag any shift before production starts.
How Long Will a Custom Safety Warning Sign Hold Up in a Warehouse With Forklift Exhaust, Moisture, and Temperature Swings?
Typically 5 or more years in those conditions. The .040 aluminum base does not rust, and the UV-printed surface resists scratches, grease, and moisture without peeling or bubbling. Forklift exhaust and humidity will not degrade the sign face. The one thing to watch is mounting hardware: vibration from nearby machinery can loosen fasteners over time, so check screws and bolts annually.
Can I Get a Proof Before the Signs Go to Print?
Every order includes a free digital proof showing the exact layout, hazard text, colors, corner style, and pre-drilled hole placement. We do not start production until you approve it. This step exists specifically so you can confirm the hazard message reads correctly before we print anything.
What Is the Turnaround Time if I Need Signs for a Compliance Deadline?
Standard production runs 1 to 2 business days after proof approval. Orders placed before 12 PM EST enter production the same day. For bulk orders of 10 or more signs, volume pricing applies automatically and the timeline stays the same. Honestly, most compliance-deadline orders land within 3 business days of placing the order, including production and standard shipping.
Get your artwork right
Submit files as PDF, PNG, JPG, or AI. Vector AI files work best for logos and bold text because they scale to any sign size without softening edges.
- Resolution
- Resolution matters most on smaller signs. Set your file to 300 DPI (dots per inch, the measure of image sharpness) for any sign 18 in wide or under, where workers read from within 5 ft. Larger signs at 18x24 in or 36x24 in hold well at 150 DPI minimum.
- Color mode
- Color mode must be CMYK (a four-ink color system that matches how we print) rather than RGB. This is where orange and yellow triangle accuracy lives. RGB reads differently on screen than it prints, so CMYK is the only way to confirm your OSHA and ANSI header colors come out true.
- Bleed and safe zone
- Add 0.25 in of bleed (extra image area beyond the cut edge) on all four sides. Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from each edge inside the safe zone so nothing trims close.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the sign face with a damp cloth and mild soap once or twice a year. Forklift exhaust, grease, and chemical dust build up on the surface over time and can reduce readability from a distance. Rounded-corner signs in tight machine areas may need cleaning more often than wall-mounted versions.
- .040 aluminum does not rust, so outdoor chemical storage and mechanical room signs need no protective coating or seasonal treatment. Check mounting screws or bolts annually because vibration from nearby machinery can loosen fasteners over time. Inspect the sign face after any direct impact from equipment or pallets and replace any sign where a dent distorts the hazard message.
