Custom Reserved Parking Signs run on .040 aluminum, a rigid metal sheet roughly 1mm thick that holds up outdoors without rusting or warping. These signs suit parking lot management, ADA handicap space identification, and any reserved-space assignment that needs to last 5 or more years in direct weather.

.040 Aluminum That Holds Up 5 or More Years Outdoors
.040 aluminum forms the base of every sign we print. Roughly 1mm thick, it's the same gauge used for commercial parking signs nationwide. It does not rust, does not warp, and holds mounting hardware without cracking through freeze-thaw cycles. Your reserved space markers stay readable year after year without replacement. Sturdy material. Long service life.
ADA-Ready Templates and Full Custom Reserved Space Messaging
Our sign builder at A2Z Printing Hub covers the most common reserved-space messages. That includes ADA-compliant handicap parking with the International Symbol of Access (the wheelchair symbol required by federal guidelines), employee only, visitor, expectant mothers, and EV charging only. Each template sets the correct layout so you don't start from scratch or guess at symbol placement. And for spaces with a specific name or title, the custom text field handles that too.
Direct UV Print in Full Color on Single or Double-Sided Panels
Direct UV print delivers bold, scratch-resistant color on single or double-sided panels. Ink cures instantly by ultraviolet light directly on the aluminum surface. The finish is waterproof and won't peel or fade under direct sun. Here's the thing: most signs face one driving direction, but center-aisle post placement needs both sides readable. Double-sided printing solves that without ordering two separate signs.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
General no-parking or tow-away zone enforcement belongs on Custom No Parking Signs, which carry the correct red-and-white prohibition messaging.
Broader lot rules and operating hours fit better on Custom Parking Signs, which cover general identification without reserved-space specifics.
Indoor room labels and directory signs need different materials and mounting. Custom Business Signs cover interior applications.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right Custom Reserved Parking Signs configuration.
-
Picking the Right Size for Your Lot Layout
Sign size depends on how far away drivers read it. The 12x18 in sign fits a single-space marker mounted on a wall or fence post directly behind the space, where the driver is already slowing to park. Go with 18x24 in for center-aisle post mounting where the sign needs to read from a moving vehicle at 5 to 15 mph.
Use 36x24 in for wide-lane lots or any space where the sign sits more than 20 ft from the driver's eye line. Pick your size in the configurator before uploading your design.
-
Choosing Between ADA-Compliant and Custom Reserved Messaging
Here's the thing: ADA handicap parking signs are not just a design choice. Federal ADA Standards for Accessible Design specify the International Symbol of Access (the wheelchair symbol), a blue background, and a minimum sign height of 60 in from the ground to the sign's bottom edge.
Use our ADA template to get the symbol, color, and text layout right without guessing. For all other reserved messages (employee only, visitor, expectant mothers, EV charging only), use the custom text field to enter your exact wording.
-
Straight or Rounded Corners Based on Mounting Location
Rounded corners cut sharp edges on signs mounted at pedestrian height. This matters near walkways, accessible spaces, and any spot where a person might brush against the sign face. Straight corners are fine for post-mounted signs in open lots where foot traffic does not pass close to the sign. Choose rounded corners for any sign within arm's reach of a walkway.
-
Single-Sided or Double-Sided Based on Post Placement
Single-sided signs work for wall mounting or end-of-row post placement where drivers approach from one direction. Double-sided signs are the right call for center-aisle posts where traffic flows past the same space from both directions. And if you are not sure which applies, order double-sided. It covers both scenarios without a second order.
Pair it with
Complete the Parking Lot Sign Set
Most lots need all three parking sign types working together. Custom Parking Signs cover general rules and lot identification. Custom No Parking Signs handle fire lanes and tow-away zones. Order all three in one batch for matching color and finish across every post.
Add Night Visibility to Your Reserved Spaces
Reserved lots used after dark need signs that bounce headlights back toward the driver. Custom Reflective Signs use engineer-grade reflective sheeting on the same .040 aluminum, visible from 500 or more ft away.
Add Traffic Control at the Lot Entrance
Custom Stop Signs and Custom Speed Limit Signs on .040 aluminum match the same material and finish as your reserved parking signs. A consistent sign set reads as organized to both drivers and inspectors.
Temporary or Portable Additions
A-Frame Signs work at lot entrances for event-day reserved space announcements that change week to week. Custom Banners cover temporary reserved-area messaging for construction zones without committing to permanent aluminum.
FAQs
Get your artwork right
Resolution determines whether your sign looks sharp or soft at reading distance. We recommend 300 DPI for any sign under 4 ft wide. Drivers and pedestrians get close enough to notice a soft edge, and 300 DPI keeps lines clean at that distance. The floor is 150 DPI for larger formats.
- Color mode
- Submit files as PDF, AI, PNG, or JPG. Vector files (AI or PDF) are best for logos because they scale without losing edge quality. Set your color mode to CMYK (the four-ink system we print with), not RGB. RGB is a screen color system and does not translate accurately to print.
- Color mode
- For ADA handicap signs, use PMS 294 C or its CMYK equivalent (C100 M60 Y0 K10) to hit the correct blue.
- Bleed
- Keep a 0.25 in bleed on all four sides and your text or logos at least 0.5 in from the edge so nothing gets clipped at the corner.

Care instructions
Product care
- Wipe the sign face with a damp cloth and mild soap once or twice a year. Road grime and salt residue build up near lot-level signs, especially after winter. Rinse with clean water and let it air dry.
- .040 aluminum does not rust, so no protective coating is needed between cleanings. But check your mounting hardware annually. Wind vibration and snowplow activity near parking lots loosen bolts over time, so retighten any fasteners before the sign shifts out of position.
- After snowplow season, inspect signs mounted at lot-level for impact damage from plow blades. A bent face is the most common issue in northern lots. Replace the panel if bending affects readability.
