How to orderSpecifications
The 16.4 ft x 16.4 ft X-Shape Wave Magnetic Modular Fabric Display covers a full island assignment with four waved, double-sided fabric fins on an aluminum magnetic frame. Every face prints by dye sublimation on 240g flame-retardant tension fabric. It's built for indoor convention-center use across multiple shows.
- Material
- Flame-retardant 240g tension fabric (tightly woven polyester rated to resist ignition).Holds its shape under constant stretch across all four waved fins and meets most convention center fire codes.
- Print Method
- Dye sublimation.Ink bonds into the fabric fibers under heat so color will not crack, peel, or wash out between shows.
- Color Output
- Full-color on all four double-sided faces.Every waved fin carries a complete branded graphic on both the front and back surfaces.
- Finishing
- Pillowcase-style sleeve (a zippered fabric cover that wraps around each frame section). No hardware shows through the finished graphic surface on any fin.
- Size
- 16.4 ft x 16.4 ft footprint.Suits full island assignments at large convention-center shows, roughly 270 sq ft of open floor space.
- Indoor/Outdoor Rating
- Indoor use across multiple shows.Keep out of direct outdoor weather to protect the 240g fabric and the magnetic frame joints.
- Single/Double-Sided
- Double-sided on all four fins.Every approach angle from every surrounding aisle shows a complete branded graphic rather than a blank reverse.
- Frame
- Aluminum with magnetic joints.Sections lock together without tools or loose connectors, so the full island assembles on a busy show morning.

Key highlights
- Four Waved Fins That Brand Every Aisle at Once
- Magnetic Aluminum Frame With No Tools and No Loose Hardware
- Double-Sided 240g Flame-Retardant Tension Fabric on Every Face
Four Waved Fins That Brand Every Aisle at Once
Four fabric fins radiate outward in an X pattern across a 16.4 ft square footprint. Each fin faces a different surrounding aisle, so attendees approaching from any direction see a full branded surface rather than a blank frame edge or an open gap. That's four complete brand impressions from four separate approach angles, built into one structure. Sculptural silhouette. Visible from every direction.
Magnetic Aluminum Frame With No Tools and No Loose Hardware
Aluminum frame sections lock at magnetic joints (snap-together connectors that align under fabric tension without any tools or loose pins). Your team doesn't hunt for a wrench or count small hardware pieces on a busy show morning. A2Z Printing Hub builds the magnetic joint system into every frame section in this line, so the full island goes together the same way at every venue. Fast setup. Zero hardware to misplace.
Double-Sided 240g Flame-Retardant Tension Fabric on Every Face
Flame-retardant 240g tension fabric (a tightly woven polyester rated to resist ignition) meets most convention center fire codes. No compliance headaches on show day. Each fin prints front and back by dye sublimation (a process where ink bonds into the fibers under heat), meaning color will not crack, peel, or fade across multiple shows. Both faces of all four fins carry a complete graphic. No blank reverses, no wasted surface.

Ideal for
Not the best fit for
First-time exhibitors assigned a standard 10 ft x 10 ft inline row space get full coverage from a flat backwall. [Inline Trade Show Booths] are a better fit there.
Buyers who need a built-in podium, TV stand, or counter integrated into the structure should look at [Modular Trade Show Booths], which include those accessories in the kit.
Exhibitors with the tightest budgets will find the right entry point through [Affordable Trade Show Booths], which routes to the most budget-friendly options across the catalog.
How to choose
Use these buying points to choose the right 16.4 ft x 16.4 ft X-Shape Wave Magnetic Modular Fabric Display configuration.
-
Your Floor Assignment Must Fit a 16.4 ft Square Footprint
Check your show floor contract first. This display covers roughly 270 sq ft of open floor, so your assigned island space needs to match. A 10 ft x 10 ft or 10 ft x 20 ft inline assignment does not give you the room this footprint needs. Step down to a smaller magnetic display in the 10 ft or 13 ft size range if your contract shows anything under a full island assignment.
-
An X-Shape Island Suits Four Open Aisles, Not a Corner
The X-shape works when your booth is open on all four surrounding sides. Every approach angle needs a branded face. If your assignment backs against a wall or sits in a corner, you'll waste a double-sided face against a surface no attendee ever sees. An L-Shape or U-Shape magnetic display covers the open sides without that loss.
-
The Wave Profile Reads Differently Than a Flat X at Distance
Here's the thing: both shapes cover the same footprint, but the silhouette tells a different story from 40 ft away. The flat X-Shape suits angular, structured brand identities. The Wave version adds a curved, sculptural profile to each fin, so the shape reads as distinct and in motion even before an attendee gets close. If your brand identity skews dynamic or modern, the Wave is the right call.
-
Four Double-Sided Fins Each Need Their Own Front and Back Artwork
-
Front and Back Files for All Four Fins
Supply separate front and back artwork for every fin before submitting your order. That's eight total graphic panels for one display.
-
Account for the Wave Curve When Laying Out Text
The wave curve on each fin means logos and text placed near the edges can distort at the bend. Keep critical copy inside the safe zone and submit files at 150 DPI minimum, 300 DPI recommended, with 0.25 in bleed on all sides.
Pair it with
Anchor the Floor Inside the Island
A bare table sitting inside four fully branded fins pulls the eye down to something unbranded. A Branded Table Cover printed in the same dye sublimation process ties your demo or reception surface directly to the fin graphics above it. The island reads as one cohesive branded zone from every aisle. - Branded Table Cover
Pull Foot Traffic Before Attendees Reach the Fins
Custom Flags placed at the four aisle ends surrounding your 16.4 ft footprint give approaching attendees a branded signal from roughly 50 ft out. That's well before the waved fins come into full view. Retractable Banner Stands flanking the outer edges add a second read at eye level in the open floor space between the fins and the aisle boundary. - Custom Flags - Retractable Banner Stands
Same Magnetic System, Smaller Footprint
Your team already knows the magnetic assembly process. The X-Shape Magnetic Modular Display in 10 ft x 10 ft or 13 ft x 13 ft uses the same aluminum frame system and the same 240g tension fabric. A second show with a smaller floor assignment doesn't need a separate learning curve. - Other X-Shape Magnetic Modular Displays (smaller sizes)
Different Island Shapes for Different Assignments
The Round Tower Magnetic Modular Display suits a narrow aisle-end accent spot where the 16.4 ft X footprint won't fit. And the Four Corner Magnetic Modular Display covers a 20 ft x 20 ft island assignment where branded corners matter more than radiating fins. - Round Tower Magnetic Modular Display - Four Corner Magnetic Modular Display
FAQs
How Many People Does It Take to Assemble the 16.4 ft X-Shape Wave on a Show Morning?
Two people handle the full assembly comfortably. Magnetic joints align and lock the aluminum fin sections together without tools, so there's no hunting for a wrench or a missing pin on a busy show floor. Smaller magnetic displays in this line go up solo. At 16.4 ft across four fins, though, a two-person crew moves faster and keeps the fabric panels from dragging on the floor during stretching.
Will the Waved Fins Hold Their Curved Shape Once the 240g Fabric Is Stretched Over the Magnetic Frame?
Yes. The aluminum frame sections set the curve. The 240g tension fabric (a tightly woven polyester stretched over the frame under constant tension) holds the wave shape rigid once the pillowcase-style sleeve zips closed. The fabric weight at 240g is heavier than most standard tension fabric displays, which typically run 210g to 230g, so it pulls taut across the curve without sagging between joints.
Does the 16.4 ft x 16.4 ft X-Shape Wave Magnetic Modular Fabric Display Meet Convention Center Fire Codes?
The 240g tension fabric is flame-retardant, meaning it's rated to resist ignition and meets most convention center fire codes across major US venues. That said, each venue sets its own requirements, so confirm the specific fire rating your show needs before ordering. We can supply documentation on the fabric's flame-retardant rating if your show coordinator asks for it.
Can I Order Replacement Graphics for the Four Fins Without Buying a New Frame Kit?
Yes, and most repeat exhibitors do exactly that. The aluminum magnetic frame is reusable across shows, so you order new 240g tension fabric panels for the four fins and reuse the hardware. Replacement graphics ship as folded fabric panels in the same carry case format, ready to swap at the next venue.
What Happens If a Magnetic Joint Fails or a Frame Section Gets Damaged Between Shows?
Contact us within 48 hours of discovering the damage and we'll sort out a replacement section. The magnetic frame sections are part of the modular line, so individual parts are available without replacing the full kit. Keep the magnetic joints free of grit and debris between shows (a dry cloth wipe after each event does it) and the joints will align cleanly at every setup.
Get your artwork right
Supply front and back artwork for all four fins as separate files. Each fin takes its own panel, and the wave curve means logos and text need to sit away from the bend so they don't distort where the fabric arcs.
- Accepted formats
- PDF, PNG, JPG, AI. Vector files (AI or PDF) work best for logos because they scale without softening at the edges.
- Resolution
- 150 DPI minimum, 300 DPI recommended. Anything under 150 DPI on a panel this size will show soft edges once stretched over the waved frame.
- Bleed
- 0.25 in on all sides so color reaches the edge cleanly after the pillowcase sleeve (a zippered fabric cover that wraps around each frame section) is fitted.
- Safe zone
- Keep all text and logos at least 0.5 in from every edge.
- Color mode
- CMYK, not RGB. CMYK matches how we print, so colors come out on fabric the way they look on your screen.
A free online design tool is available at checkout. Professional design service is also available if you need layout help across all eight fin surfaces (four fronts, four backs).
Submit your booth panel artwork as print-ready files and our team sends you a free digital proof showing every graphic in position before production starts.

Care instructions
Product care
- Spot clean the 240g tension fabric panels with mild soap and water. Air dry each panel fully before folding it back into the carry case. Trapped moisture inside a sealed bag causes mildew on the fabric weave.
- Fold panels flat rather than rolling them. Store each fin panel in its own bag to protect the waved sections, which are harder to steam flat than straight panels.
- Wipe the aluminum frame sections with a dry cloth after each show. Keep the magnetic joints (the connection points where frame sections lock together) free of grit so they align cleanly at your next setup.
- Avoid stacking heavy items on the carry case between shows. Bent waved frame sections do not realign the way straight tubes do.
